A laundry-washing machine (1) comprises a wash tub (3), a laundry basket (4) mounted in the tub (3) and drivable in rotation via motor means (M), loading means (6, 7, 8) for delivering a liquid into the tub (3), a washing agent dispenser (6) for adding at least one washing agent to the liquid, heating means (11) for heating the liquid, discharge means (10, 12, 13) for draining the liquid from the tub (3) and a control system (15, 16).

The machine (1) further comprises a catalyst designed to promote transformation into peracids of oxidizing agents possibly present in the washing agent, the catalyst being associated to a component of the machine (3; 4; 5; 6; 7, 10; 11; 12a) that, during operation of the machine itself, is in contact with the liquid containing the washing agent.
