An alarm within an alarm |
(57) A device able to monitor items or personnel whilst an alarm system is either on stand-by
or armed, using devices which would activate an alarm, or similar system if any items
or personnel go beyond a pre-set distance or boundary, or enter an unauthorised area.
Technical Field
[0001] To monitor items/personnel/pets with an alarm system using passive infra-red/movement
sensor systems or similar systems, whilst the main alarm is on stand by
Background Art
[0002] You cannot protect/monitor items/ personnel/pets whilst an alarm system is on stand
by
Summary of invention
[0003] The invention relates to a pair of emitting/receiving devices with one device being
fixed/incorporated into a passive infra-red detector/movement sensor or similar item
or stand- alone unit and the other device is attached to an item/person that will
set an alarm/sounder system off either if it is on stand- by or armed when a given
distance between the devices is broken or if one of the devices detects the other
device on a given signal/frequency
Technical Problem
[0004] On any alarm system which uses passive infra- red detectors/movement sensors or similar
detectors there is no device or way or monitoring items within premises or children/personnel/pets
not being allowed outside or in areas within a house/premises whilst the an alarm
system is on stand by
Solution to Problem
[0005] One of the devices (A) the sender is attached to any item/person/pet which is made
to receive a signal/frequency from the receiver (B),which is a device incorporated
within a passive infra- red detection/movement detection device and would work in
conjunction with the device or as a stand- alone unit .When the sender (A) can no
longer detect/monitor the signal/frequency from the receiver(B) it will produce a
signal of its own which will be able to be detected by the receiver (B)
[0006] Once this has been detected the receiver (B) will trigger the tamper circuit of the
alarm system or similar system being operated within the alarm system to set the alarm
off whilst the system is on stand- by or armed
[0007] The signal/frequency from the receiver (B) could be variable so the pre-set distance
could be altered from receiver to sender
[0008] A receiver (B) could work with any number of senders (A) or visa- versa
[0009] To detect a child/pet/person entering a room/area where not normally allowed the
receiver will always be emitting a signal/frequency pre-set but a different signal/frequency
than is being used to detecting the pre-set distance part of the device, once this
has been detected by the sender it will trigger the alarm system off in the same matter
as if the devices had detected they had broken the pre-set distance with each other.
Each receiver and sender would need to be paired up on signal/frequency's for this
situation.
[0010] The receiver could be manufactured within any passive infra- red detector or movement
sensor incorporating all abilities of the devices together
Advantageous effect of invention
[0011] Any item/person can be monitored with any alarm system using passive infra- red/movement
sensors or similar detection devices plus units being used as stand- alone units,
so whilst an alarm system is on stand-by items/persons/pets can still be detected/monitored.
If point A (the sender) goes beyond a set distance from the point B (the receiver),
or a sender enters an area not allowed the device will activate the alarm whilst on
stand-by.
[0012] The alarm system can be reset in the normal manner as if the tamper circuit or similar
circuit had been activated.
[0013] Description of embodiments
[0014] An alarm system within an alarm system
Industrial applicability
[0015] Monitor items/personnel within premises whilst main alarm is on stand-by and could
detect/monitor items/personal not allowed in certain areas whilst an alarm system
is on stand by
Citation list
1. To be able to monitor any number of items/personnel/pets/property whilst any alarm
system is on stand by and not armed or visa -versa. One receiver (B) could work in
conjunction with any number of senders, or all receivers could work in conjunction
with all senders.
2. Items/Children/personnel/pets could be monitored within the premises, so if they went
beyond the pre- set distance/boundary, or entered an area they are not allowed, the
alarm system would be activated whether the alarm system is on stand- by or armed.
3. Alter existing systems already using passive infra- red/movement detectors without
the need to re-wire or up-grade alarm system other than adding detectors to enable
them to monitor/detect whilst on stand-by.
4. To be able to work in conjunction with passive infra-red detectors/movement sensors
or similar detection units and work in conjunction with the device, equally, the devices
can be built independently to function on their own.
5.
