(54) Applying hair treatment with a hair iron


(57) A hair iron (100) has two hingedly connected arms (102, 104) between which hair may be clamped and heated. A heating element (106) is included on one or both arms (102, 104), regulated by a temperature controller (114). A compartment (150) is formed in one or both arms (102, 104) to hold a capsule (200) for containing a fluid, and a connector, which includes liquid passing ports and gas passing ports, the connector forming a coupling between the capsule (200) and a pump (164) and dispensing outlets within the arm (102, 104). As the pump (164) is pressed, gas passes through the connector into the capsule (200), creating pressure to force out liquid. The liquid passes through the connector and arm to exit at dispensing outlets (126) located near the heaters (106). The fluid (400) may be converted to steam by the heating elements (106).
