(57) A blank safety device ( 200) is provided that includes: a body (205) defining a cylindrical bore (210) having a closed distal end, the body (205) also defining an proximally extending internal cavity (245) in communication with the cylindrical bore (210); a bullet plug (215) received within the cylindrical bore (210), the bullet plug (215) being configured to distally displace within the cylindrical bore (210) towards the closed distal end in response to the impact of a fired bullet; and a back section (225) received within the internal cavity (245) in the body (210), the back section (225) defining an internal chamber (231) that is sealed with respect to a proximal bore for receiving a firearm attachment.
