(54) Method for batch parameter setting in a medical apparatus and medical apparatus

(57) The invention relates to a method for setting mutually dependent parameters (60;61,62) of a microprocessor controlled medical apparatus, whereby processes (50) of the medical apparatus are operated based on these parameter settings (60;61,62). The medical apparatus comprises at least a software component (20) driving a user interface (21) connected to a screen (10) and a storage unit (22) in which a set of rules is stored that defines the relationship between mutually dependent parameter settings (60;61,62), whereby the medical apparatus further comprises means for manual selection and amendment of the parameter settings (60;61;62) by an operator, the method comprising:
- displaying on the screen (10) a set of at least two mutually dependent parameter settings (60;61,62);
- displaying on the screen (10) a range of possible values for at least one parameter setting (60;61;62), whereby at least one of the limiters of the range of possible values is mutable and is automatically determined based on the current parameter settings;
- adjusting a parameter setting (60;61;62) upon manual selection by an operator;
- automatically determining and displaying the value of at least one parameter setting (60;61;62) depending on the parameter setting (60;61;62) that is adjusted by the operator, whereby the determination of said dependent parameter setting (60;61;62) is at least based on the stored relationships between parameter settings (60;61;62);
- implementing the set of amended parameter settings (60;61;62) by actuating a batch setting acceptance operation; and
- operating the processes (50) of the medical apparatus based on the set of amended parameter settings (60;61;62).
