(54)	Use of ceramics in dental and orthodontic applications

(57) The present invention relates to an article comprising at least one of a glass or glass-ceramic comprising at least 35 percent by weight Al₂O₃, based on the total weight of the glass or glass-ceramic, and a first metal oxide other than Al₂O₃, wherein the Al₂O₃ and the first metal oxide, and second metal oxide collectively comprise at least 70 percent by weight of the glass or glass-ceramic.
