OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a cap for the closure of containers designed to
contain products for use by children, in particular sweets in liquid, powdered or
granulated state.
[0002] The object of the invention is to achieve a cap which, satisfactorily fulfilling
its function as said closing element, offers full safety guarantees in the aspect
that it cannot be swallowed by the child when opening it with the teeth.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] There is a wide variety of containers for products for use by children, which with
a plastic body and with any configuration, are finished in a cylindrical body, whereto
the corresponding closure cap is coupled, a cap which usually adopts a conical configuration
and which is finished at its vertex in a kind of flange that at the time of opening
must be cut to define the product outlet.
[0004] Said flange can be easily eliminated with the aid of a cutting element, such as,
for example, a knife or scissors, but evidently these tools should not be accessible
to young children, who pull off the flange with their teeth, so that there is a high
risk that the child swallows the flange, with the danger of choking or suffocating
that this involves.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The cap for containers of products for use by children that the invention proposes,
resolves in a fully satisfactory manner the aforementioned problem, guaranteeing that
it is completely impossible that the child can swallow any part of the cap, when opening
with the teeth.
[0006] Therefore, and more in particular, the cap is formed from a base that can be screwed
on to the neck in turn threaded of the container or receptacle concerned, a base with
a conical portion, convergent towards its free end, centring its characteristics on
the fact that in correspondence with the vertex of this portion it incorporates an
axial orifice designed to receive a small cylindrical puller, with a truncated conical
free end to facilitate penetration in the orifice, and with a diameter perfectly adjusted
to the latter, with the special characteristic that the base of the cap and said puller
are interconnected with single-piece character, by a kind of side handle, which maintains
the puller joined to the rest of the container during the opening manoeuvre, both
if this is performed with the teeth, and if performed manually, holding the container
with one of their hands and acting on the seal with the thumb of their other hand,
particularly in a specific point of the cap, conveniently indicated with an arrow.
[0007] It only finally remains to indicate that the side handle that connects the cylindrical
seal to the base of the cap must have sufficiently high mechanical rigidity so that
it is impossible to break, neither by biting it, bending it nor any other type of
handling.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0008] To complement the description being made and in order to aid towards a better understanding
of the characteristics of the invention, in accordance with a preferred example of
practical embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of
said specification wherein, with illustrative and non-limiting character, the following
has been represented:
- Figure 1.-
- Shows a perspective view of a cap for containers of products for use by children made
in accordance with the object of the present invention in closed arrangement.
- Figure 2.-
- Shows a similar view to that of figure 1, but wherein the cap appears open.
- Figure 3.-
- Shows a view in diametric section of the cap of the previous figures, specifically
in accordance with the position of figure 1.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0009] In light of the indicated figures, it can be observed how the cap of the invention
is formed from an essentially cylindrical base body (1), equipped with an inner partition
(2) and one or more ribs (3) to couple to the neck of the corresponding children's
product container, a cap which in correspondence with its upper base includes a truncated
conical portion (4) which in correspondence with its upper vertex is finished in an
orifice (5), as shown in figure 2.
[0010] Therefore, said orifice (5) is designed to be plugged by a cylindrical seal (6),
with its lower end (7) finished in the form of a truncated cone, to facilitate the
seal insertion manoeuvres, an element which is linked to the base body through a kind
of handle (8), elastic in nature, acting as recovery element of the seal.
[0011] As commented above, the cap can be equally opened by the child's teeth or manually
for which it incorporates a sign (9), indicating the area to pull.
[0012] A device is thus achieved for containers that are extremely safe for children.
1. Cap for containers of products for use by children, of the type formed from a base
adaptable to the neck of the container or receptacle concerned, a base with a conical
portion, convergent towards its free end, characterized in that in correspondence with the vertex of this conical portion it incorporates an axial
orifice designed to receive a small cylindrical seal, and of diameter adjusted to
that of the orifice, with the special characteristic that the base of the cap and
said seal are interconnected with single-piece character, by a kind of side handle,
which maintains the puller joined to the rest of the container during the opening
manoeuvre.
2. Cap for containers of products for use by children, according to claim 1, wherein
it incorporates a sign such as an arrow or similar indicator of the positioning of
the seal whereon it is necessary to pull.
3. Cap for containers of products for use by children, according to claim 1, wherein
the cylindrical seal is finished at its free end in truncated conical manner.
