Abstract

 The present invention relates to a device to obtain positional control. This device is applicable to a support movable on a platform and is characterised in that the support has an angular constitution with the lower horizontal section which moves guided on the platform and which has, on its lower part, a protrusion which selectively fits into aligned openings provided in the platform, the indicated horizontal section comprising two pins, a front pin and another rear pin, having play in respective slots of the guide, the rear pin being coupled in a vertical slot provided in said horizontal section of the support.

Field of the Invention

[0002] This device is preferably applicable in sporting apparatus and is intended to encourage the take off of sportsmen/women mainly in sprint races be it athletics or swimming races.

Background of the Invention

[0003] Devices with the indicated purpose have already been known for some years, such devices comprise supports which are coupled in different positions on a platform for supporting the feet of the athlete or swimmer.

Summary of the Invention

[0004] The object of this invention is a simple device to obtain positional control which can easily be handled by the user and which further has an aesthetic finish, being applicable to a support movable on a platform.

[0005] This support has an angular constitution with a lower horizontal section which moves guided on the platform and which has, on its lower part, a protrusion which selectively fits into aligned openings provided in the platform, the indicated horizontal section comprising two pins, one front pin and another rear pin, having play in respective slots of the guide, the rear pin being coupled in a vertical slot provided in said horizontal section of the support.

[0006] The support and the guide are covered with a cuff having a slot on its upper face through which protrudes the upper oblique section of the support.

Description of a Preferred Embodiment

[0009] According to the drawings, the device to obtain positional control is applied to a support (1) having an angular constitution, with a lower horizontal section (2) which moves guided on a platform (3), and has, in its lower part, a protrusion (4) which selectively fits into aligned openings (5) provided in the platform (3).

[0010] The indicated horizontal section (2) of the support comprises two pins, one front pin (6) and another rear pin (7), having play in respective slots (8 and 9) of the guide (10), the rear pin (7) being coupled in a vertical slot (11) provided in said horizontal section (2) of the support.

[0011] Said horizontal section and the guide (10) are covered with a cuff (12) having a slot on its upper face (13) through which protrudes the upper oblique section (14) of the support.

[0012] There are two supports (1 and 1') and they are arranged on either side of the platform (3) and a plate (15) is coupled between their oblique upper sections (14).

[0013] The plate (15) and the platform (3) will comprise thereon the coupling of plates (16 and 17) made of non-slip plastic material.

[0014] The podium will be completed with a base on which the platform (3) and the corresponding grips not depicted will be fixed.

[0015] To change the position of the supports (1) plate (15) will be held, raising it according to arrow (F) of Figure 2, whereby the protrusion (4) exits the opening (5) the supports (1) being free to move according to arrow F' along the platform (3) guided by the guides (10).

[0016] When the chosen position is obtained plate (15) will be dropped, which plate will be locked in its position by the protrusion (4) fitting into the corresponding opening (5).

[0017] Having sufficiently described the present invention in accordance with the drawings attached, it is easy to understand that any detail modifications which are deemed convenient may be introduced therein as long as detail modifications altering the essence of the invention which is summarised in the following claims are not introduced.

Claims

1. Device to obtain positional control, applicable to a support movable on a platform characterised in that the support has an angular constitution with a lower horizontal section which moves guided on the platform and which has, on its lower part, a protrusion which selectively fits into aligned openings provided in the platform, the indicated horizontal section comprising two pins, one front pin and another rear pin, having play in respective slots of the guide, the rear pin being coupled in a vertical slot provided in said horizontal section of the support.

2. Device to obtain positional control according to claim 1, characterised in that the horizontal section of the support and the guide are covered with a cuff having a slot on its upper face through which protrudes the upper oblique section of the support.

3. Device to obtain positional control according to claim 1, characterised in that there are two supports and they are arranged on either side of the platform, and a plate is coupled between their upper oblique sections.
