(54) An oil pump for a hermetic compressor


(57) An oil pump for lifting lubrication oil from an oil sump is disclosed, said oil pump comprising a cylindrical shaft, an outer pump element comprising a cylindrical bore larger in diameter than the shaft, one or more spiral grooves arranged in the outer surface of the shaft and/or in the inner surface of the bore, and means to cause a relative rotation between the shaft and the bore around their common longitudinal axis. Furthermore, a compressor comprising such an oil pump and a hermetic compressor comprising a closed vessel, a part of which vessel consists of a rupture disk dimensioned to burst at a predefined bursting pressure are disclosed.
