Description

[0001] The invention relates to the field of building industry and used for facing of jambs of windows, doors and other openings in premises and buildings.

[0002] The closest analog is a decorative profile for window and door openings disclosed in the Russian Federation patent No. 2230868, cl. E 06 B 3/30, 2004. The profile consists of several parts connected to each other with a possibility of bending from each other and/or with a possibility of departing from each other by breaking for fixing to the walls and corners of window or door openings. The profile is made by extrusion of basically rectilinear solid flat sheet and has at least two parts bent up from each other. At least one first part of the profile is intended for fastening to a framing wall in a window or door opening and one first curved part is used for fastening to the framing wall around a window or a door. At least one additional part is intended for covering said first curved part from the outer side. The visible parts of the decorative profile are provided with a coating.

[0003] The known invention is disadvantageous in that the profile is made of a flat sheet without stiffening fins that assumes its relative flexibility in all directions and, as consequence, its defluxion from the straight-line surface and non-planar properties. Since one part of the profile can be curved freely with respect to the other part, and there are no structural elements limiting this turn at the profile installation, it is difficult to hold the preset geometrical dimensions, for example, a window opening size. Besides, the presence of a thin partition between the curved profile parts can lead to its break during transportation or installation of the profile.

[0004] An object of the present invention is to create a profile for facing jambs of window, door and other openings in buildings and premises which would preserve positive qualities of the known design but, at the same time, the profile would have a more rigid structure, would be more reliable and universal in installation.

[0005] This technical result is obtained due to the fact that the profile for facing jambs includes two facing elements connected by one end-face side at an angle corresponding to the angle formed by the walls of the facing jamb to which the profile adjoins through the rear side, and each of which includes a flattened section whose rear side is in contact with the wall of the jamb being faced, a side section having a flattened part connected to the lateral face of the flattened section, and a part of a rounded shape in its cross-section curved towards the profile front face, and a fastening section to be fastened to the room wall adjoining the jamb, located at the rear side of the profile and connected by one its side with the flattened and lateral sections at their junction place. Provided between the fastening section and the rounded part of the lateral section is a gap capable of accommodating the facing profile, the other end-face side of the flattened and lateral sections having at least one projecting mounting element with a possibility of connection to other facing profiles.

[0006] The connection of the facing elements at an angle corresponding to the angle formed by the walls of the opening being faced, to which the profile adjoins by the rear side, allows one to expand a range of application of the design and to use the invention not only for facing square openings but also semicircular openings and openings of other geometrical shape.

[0007] The lateral section is capable of elastic bending with respect to the fastening section that bates the requirements to the accuracy of manufacture of the attachable facing panels by their thickness and allows one to attach panels of a different thickness with rigid fastening.

[0008] The fastening section is arranged at an angle to the rear surface of the flattened section, said angle corresponding to the angle formed by the jamb wall and the room wall adjoining the jamb. The fastening section has mounting holes for its fastening to the wall adjoining the jamb, said holes being located beyond the boundary of the lateral section and being easily accessible. Such a position of the fastening section with respect to lateral section allows one to cover practically the whole range of possible relative positioning of the walls of the door or window jambs that allowing the application of such a profile to be significantly expanded.

[0009] On the front face at the place of connection of the flattened section with the fastening and lateral sections there are provided grooves for elimination of tightening of the material from which the profile is made, and this removes the internal stress of the material of which the profile is made and, as a consequence, increases the reliability and service life of profile structure.

[0010] Arranged on the rear side of the flattened part of the lateral section near the point of connection of the facing elements is a boss for supporting the facing profile being attachable. It allows the attachable facing panel to be installed more evenly and accurately with respect to the profile,

[0011] On the other lateral face from the front face of the flattened section there is provided a stepped projection displaced towards the rear side and capable of accommodating an edge of the attachable facing profile. A bevel is provided between the front face of the flattened section and the stepped projection while between end-face side of the edge of the attachable facing profile and the place of the step on the flattened section there is formed a groove identical to the groove for elimination of material tightening. A support member capable of carrying the attachable facing profile is made on the rear side of the flattened section opposite to the stepped projection. All this provides practically ideal smooth front face of the interconnected facing panels and profiles.

[0012] The en-face side of the stepped projection has a flange displaced towards the rear side. The other end-face side of the flattened section has a ┌-shaped stepped projection displaced towards the rear side with a possibility of placing thereon an edge of the attachable facing profile. The end-face side of the lateral section has a rounded projection displaced towards the rear side and repeating the lateral section profile in a cross-section. Slots are provided between a ┌-shaped stepped projection, the rounded projection and the flange on the end-face side of a stepped projection. The side walls of the ┌-shaped stepped projection and the flange on the end-face side of the stepped projection forming the slot walls are beveled. The flattened part of the rounded projection is thinning towards the rear side. The presence of flanges, slots, a rounded projection with a flattened part, and displacement of the flanges inside the profile provide more reliable and strong connection of the facing profiles and the other profiles.

[0013] The front face flattened and lateral sections are made with a decor.

[0014] The advantage of such improvements of the profile for jamb facing consists in a significant increase of hardness of the profile structure due to the rigid connection of the profile facing elements. The presence of flanges, slots and a rounded projection with a flattened part, bosses, and a possibility of bending the lateral section with respect to the fastening section allows one to increase the reliability of the construction at installation - connection with the lateral facing panels and other facing profiles - due to high rigidity of the construction including a possibility of elimination of the angular displacement of the attachable profiles and the panels of one profile for jamb facings.

Figure 3 is a view of the profile on the rear side of a facing element.

[0016] An embodiment of the invention. The profile for jamb facings (Figure 1) includes two facing elements 1 connected by one end-face side 2 at an angle, for example 90°, corresponding to the angle formed by the walls of the jamb being faced to which the profile is in contact through the rear side 3, and each of them including a flattened section 4 whose the rear side adjoins the wall of the jamb being faced, the lateral section 5 having a flattened part 6 connected to the lateral face 7 of the flattened section 4, and a part 8 rounded in its cross-section and curved towards the front face 9 of the profile, and a fastening section 10 secured to the room wall adjoining the jamb located at the rear side of the profile 3 and connected by one side 11 with the flattened section 4 and lateral section 5 at their junction place. Arranged between the fastening section 10 and the rounded part 8 of the lateral section 5 is a gap 12 (Figure 2) capable of accommodating the attachable facing profile. On the other end-face sides 13 and 14 of the flattened section 4 and the lateral section 5, accordingly, there is at least one protruding mounting element capable of adding other facing profiles.

[0017] The lateral section 5 is capable of elastic bending with respect to the fastening section 10. The fastening section 10 is located at an angle to the rear surface 3 of the flattened section 4, said angle corresponding to the angle formed by the jamb wall and the room wall adjoining the jamb. The fastening section 10 has mounting holes 15 for fastening this section to the wall adjoining the jamb, the easily accessible holes 15 being disposed beyond the boundary of the lateral section 5.

[0018] On the front face 9 at the place of connection of the flattened section 4 with the fastening section 10 and the lateral section 5 there are made grooves 16 for eliminating tightening of the profile materials, simulating formation of joints when facing the wall jamb with natural tile (stone). On the rear side 3 of the flattened part 6 of the lateral section 5 near the place of connection of the facing elements a boss 17 (Figure 3) is located that can be used as a support of the attachable facing profile. The other lateral face 18 on the front face 9 of the flattened section 4 has a stepped projection 19 displaced towards the rear side 3 that can carry the edge of the attachable facing profile. Provided between the front face 9 of the flattened section 4 and a stepped projection 19 is a bevel edge 20, and between the end-face side of the edge of the attachable facing profile and the place of forming the step on the flattened section 4, a groove is formed identical to the groove for eliminating tightening of the material simulating formation of joints when facing the wall jamb with natural tile (stone). On the rear side 3 of the flattened section 4 opposite to the location of the stepped projection 19 there is provided a supporting member 21 for support of the attachable facing profile. The end-face side 22 of the stepped projection 19 has a mounting element in the form of a flange 23 displaced towards the rear side 3.

[0019] The other end-face side 13 of the flattened section 4 is provided with a mounting element in the form of a ┌-shaped stepped projection 24 displaced towards the rear side 3 and having an edge curved inside and arranged at the right angle to the rear surface 3 of the flattened section 4 with a possibility of placement thereon an edge of the attachable facing profile. The other end-face side 14 of the lateral section 5 is provided with a mounting element in the form of a rounded projection 25 displaced towards the rear side 3 and a repeating the profile of the lateral section 5 in its cross-section. Slots 26 are made between the ┌-shaped stepped projection 24, the rounded projection 25 and the flange 23 on the end-face side 22 of the stepped projection 19. The side walls 27 of the ┌-shaped stepped projection 24 and the flange 23 on the end-face side 22 of the stepped projection 19 forming walls of the slots 26 have a bevel 28. The flattened part 29 of the rounded projection 25 is thinned and displaced towards the rear side 3. The front face 9 of the flattened section 4 and the lateral section 5 is made with a decor.

[0020] The mounting of the profile for jamb facings is performed as follows. The profile leans against the jamb walls, for example, of a window opening so that the edge of the ┌-shaped stepped projection 24 and the support member 21 of each facing element 1 are in contact with the walls of the jamb being faced performing the profile support function. At the same time, the fastening section 10 is secured through the mounting holes 15 to the internal wall of the room that is in contact with the end-face of the jamb wall. The facing profile is inserted to the rest into the support member 21 under the stepped projection 19 of each facing element 1. The other attachable facing profile is inserted into the slots 26 of each facing element 1. The attachable facing panels are inserted into the gap 12 between the fastening section 10 and the lateral section 5 of each facing element 1 up to the rest against stop boss.

[0021] The invention can be easily made of modern materials on the basis of the existing technology and can be used most efficiently for facing of jambs of windows, doors and other openings in premises and buildings.
