(54) Frame corner locking

(57) The present invention refers to a frame corner locking (1), which keeps or couples together two frame portions (2) such as for example a frame upper portion (3) or a frame lower portion with a frame side part (5) for constituting a frame corner (6) existing in a frame (7), such as e.g. a door frame or a window frame for mounting of the same in an opening in for example in a wall. The undersides (8) of the two frame portions (2), which during the mounting, are turned against the opening in the wall, have at least one U-formed groove (9), which extends in the longitudinal direction (4) of the frame portions (2) or a groove for example an opening, said frame corner locking (1) has at least two fixing plates (10) coupled together, which each has at least one fixing projection (11) intended to be pressed into the U-formed groove (9) or the recess by pressing the fixing plates (10) against the undersides (8) to bear on these and for enclosing at least one part of the frame corner (6) to achieve the coupling together.

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a frame corner locking for keeping or coupling together two frame portions in constituting a frame corner at e.g. a door frame before mounting the same in an opening in a wall.

[0002] Today doors and door blades are delivered separately so that they in a package take less room and become in this way less bulky, when they are sent. Further, today there is a need to buy only one door blade or only one door, which also means that they are packed separately. The frame is packed in portions, where the frame portions are situated close to each other. Problems arise when the frame portions having upper part, lower part and side parts shall be mounted together corner to corner in order to be able to be mounted in an opening in a wall. Here one improvises a lot where each sitter is doing in his own way e.g. shrews or nails together the corners by aid of silicon there between, why the result of this mounting gets different good quality. Furthermore this mounting takes too long time, while the result often becomes bad, since the mounting must be done quickly.

[0003] The object of the present invention is to eliminate the drawbacks existing with the structures mentioned above, in that you can mount together the frame portions by aid of frame corner lockings before the mounting of the frame in said opening in the wall is made according to the invention.

[0004] Thanks to the present invention a frame corner locking has been provided, which quickly and simply is enclosed and fixed in position around the corners of the frame portions and fixes these in position next to each other. The frame corner locking keeps together in this way two frame portions as e.g. a frame upper part or a frame under part together with a frame side part in constituting a frame corner before the mounting is made by said frame, such as e.g. a doorframe or a window frame in an opening in a wall. According to the invention the underside of the frame portions has an U-formed groove or a recess in the form of an opening, which is turned against the opening in the wall during the mounting of the frame. The U-formed groove extends in the longitudinal direction of the frame portion. The frame corner locking has two fixing plates coupled together, which each has fixing projections, which point outwards across their extension surface. These are pressed into that U-formed groove or recess during pushing in of the fixing plates in order to bear on the two undersides, when the fixing plates enclose the frame corner situated there between. Fixing projections create friction against the U-formed walls of the groove or the recesses, so that the fixing plates are locked tight against the underside of the frame portions and keep these together around the frame corner. The fixing plates have a width, which mainly corresponds to the frame width of the frame portion at the underside. Its thickness is about 3-8 mm and each fixing plate has a length of about 5-20 cm in order to make the frame corner stiff and tight against moisture. The groove has a width and a depth of about 2-10 µm. The recess in the form of an opening has a diameter/width/depth of about 2-10 mm. If the groove is used, one fixing projection is pressed down in each groove, so that said fixing projection by aid of friction by barbs or hook portions grasp the walls of the groove.

[0005] The invention is described closer below by aid of some preferred embodiment examples with reference of the drawings enclosed, in which

Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a part of a frame corner consisting of two frame portions coupled together by a frame corner locking,

Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of an open or folded up frame corner locking,

Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of a part of a fixing plate, where the fixing projection is a row, having a folded, Z-formed/Zig-Zac-formed extension,

Fig.4 shows a perspective view of a portion of a fixing plate where several fixing projections are provided in a row provided with several such projections, and

Fig.5 shows a side view of a frame corner locking having a permanent fixed angle.

[0006] As can be seen from fig. 1 a frame corner locking 1 is illustrated which keeps together two frame portions 2 consisting of a frame upper part 3 and a frame side part 5 in constituting a frame corner 6. The underside 8 of the frame portions 2 has an U-formed groove 9, which extends in the longitudinal direction 4 of the frame portion 2. The frame corner locking 1 has two fixing plates 10 coupled together, which separately has fixing projections 11, which are pressed into the U-formed groove 9 against the undersides 8, so that they bear on and enclose the frame corner 6 there between. The fixing projections 11 keep the frame portions 2 together by aid of friction against the walls of the U-formed groove.

[0007] As can be seen from fig. 1 and 2 a preferred embodiment example of the invention is shown, where both fixing plates 10 of the frame corner locking 1 bear flat on a surface in the form of a first fixing plate 14 and a second fixing plate 18, which is foldably coupled together by a fold joint 12 in one of it's edge sides 21, which during the coupling together is folded over the edge corner 6. The meeting frame portions 2 can in this way meet in a preselected desired frame angle 13 in constituting the frame corner 6. An edge side 21 in connection to the fold joint 12 has two stops 17, which point in the same direction as the fixing projections 11, with other words, across the extension surface 16 of the fixing plate 10, so that during pressing the fixing projections 11 in an inwards direction at the first fixing plate 14 to fix the same in position by placing the stop 17 against the connecting underside 8 of the frame portion 2 in the frame corner 6. The other fixing plate 18 is foldable for bearing on the other frame portion 2, so that during pressing down of the fixing projection 11 into the U-formed groove 9, providing a fixing in position of the other fixing plate 18, which has recesses 15, which give place for the stop 17, when the frame corner locking 1 has coupled together the frame corner 6.

[0008] As can be seen from fig. 3 the fixing projections 11 constitute a row having a folded, Z-formed/Zig-Zac-formed extension on the fixing plate 10 in order to fit into the U-formed groove 9. The fixing projections 11 has sharp spring back point formed elements 24 in order to grasp or catch the walls of the U-formed groove 9.

[0009] As can be seen from fig. 4 fixing projections 11 are illustrated, which extend in a row, where each fixing projection 11 has a hook 19, for grasping the walls of the U-formed groove 9.

[0010] As can be seen from fig. 5 a frame corner locking 1 is illustrated where the fixing plates 10 are coupled together to a permanent frame corner locking 1 where the fixing plates 10 are met with a solid angle 22 of about 90 degrees in order to fit only where the frame portions 2 shall meet having a frame angle 13 of about 90 degrees between each other. The frame corner locking 1 has a reinforced element 23 in its fixing plates 10, which extends in a longitudinal direction 4 in it's edge sides 21 in order to provide stiffening of the frame corner locking 1, so that it is easy to keep the solid angle 22 when it is stressed during the mounting of the frame portions 2. The reinforced element 23 is provided to cover a small part of one long side of the frame portions 2, which thereafter is covered by a lining.
