(54) Tilting inversion exerciser having actuating handle


(57) A tilting inversion exerciser includes a stand for supporting a seat and having two upwardly extended columns, a table includes a frame pivotally attached to the columns for pivoting relative to the stand, and the seat is attached to the frame, two handles are pivotally attached to the stand, and two linking rods are pivotally coupled between the handles and the table for rotating the frame and the seat of the table relative to the stand. A telescopic device is coupled between the table and the stand for guiding and limiting the table to rotate relative to the stand.




Description


[0001] The invention relates to a tilting inversion exerciser including an actuating handle for rotating the table relative to the stand.

[0002] Typical tilting inversion exercisers comprise a table attached to a supporting stand and rotatable relative to the base support; but have no handle for rotating the table relative to the stand.

[0003] The invention provides a tilting inversion exerciser as defined in the claims.

[0005] Referring to Figs. 1-4, a tilting inversion exerciser comprises a supporting stand 10 for supporting a table 2 and a user, includes two columns 11 each having an upper portion 12 for engaging with the table 2 which includes a U-shaped frame 20 having a seat 21 for supporting the user, and having two side bars 22 each attached to the upper portion 12 of the column 11 with a pivot axle 23 (Figs. 4, 5). The table 2 includes a foot retaining device 24 attached to the seat 21, and a telescopic device 25 having a tube 26 attached to the seat 21 or the frame 20, and an extension 27 slidably engaged in the tube 26 and pivotally attached to the stand 10. The tube 26 and the extension 27 of the telescopic device 25 are coupled between the seat 21 or the frame 20 and the stand 10 and may be slid relative to each other for guiding the seat 21 or the frame 20 to rotate relative to the stand 10, the telescopic device 25 may be an oil or hydraulic or pneumatic device for resisting the movement of the seat 21 or the frame 20 relative to the stand 10.

[0006] Two handles 30 each include a bottom or lower portion 31 pivotally attached to the column 11 or the stand 10 with a pivot pin 32, and two linking rods 33 are coupled between the handles 30 and the frame 20 or the seat 21 for allowing the frame 20 and the seat 21 to be rotated relative to the stand 10 by the handles 30. A lock 5 may be coupled between the handles 30 and the columns 11 or the stand 10 for locking the handles 30 to the columns 11 of the stand 10 and for giving some security to the user.

[0007] In operation, the user may grasp the handles 30 and may rotate the seat 21 and the frame 20 relative to the stand 10 with the handles 30. The lock 5 may be selected from a telescopic device for limiting the handles 30 to rotate relative to the stand 10, or may be selected from an oil or hydraulic or pneumatic device for resisting the movement of the handles 30 relative to the stand 10, and for giving some security to the user.

[0008] The lock may to limit rotation of the handles relative to the stand by defining a maximum angle of rotation and/or by defining a resistance force against rotation during rotation.


Claims

1. Tilting inversion exerciser comprising:

a stand (10) including two columns (11) each having an upper portion,

a table (2) including a frame (20) having two side bars (22) attached to the upper portions of the columns (11), and

a seat (21) attached to the frame (20),

characterized in that:

two handles (30) are attached to the stand (10), and two linking rods (33) are coupled between the handles and the table (2) for rotating the frame (20) and the seat (21) relative to the stand (10).


 
2. Exerciser as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the handles (30) each include a lower portion attached to the column (11) of the stand with a pivot pin.
 
3. Exerciser as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the stand (10) includes a telescopic device (25) coupled between the seat (21) and the stand (10).
 
4. Exerciser as claimed in claim 3, characterized in that the telescopic device (25) includes a tube (26) attached to the seat (21), and an extension (27) slidably engaged in the tube and pivotally mounted to the stand (10).
 
5. Exerciser as claimed in one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the table (2) includes a foot retaining device (24) attached to the seat.
 
6. Exerciser as claimed in one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the stand (10) includes a lock (5) coupled between the handles and the stand.
 
7. Exerciser as claimed in claim 6, characterized in that the lock (5) is configured to limit rotation of the handles (30) relative to the stand (10).
