[0001] The present invention relates to sanitary ware, especially to a hinged device of
a cover plate and a body of a toilet.
Summary of the invention
[0002] A toilet comprises a body and a cover plate component, the cover plate component
comprises a seatring and an upper cover, the cover plate component is assembled to
the body by an assembly mechanism, the cover plate component can rotate about a horizontal
rotation shaft, the rotation shaft is connected to the body of the toilet by a vertical
support pole, for example in
EP1199020B1, a hinged structure to connect a cover plate to a toilet body, the rotation shaft
is disposed with a switch element, the switch element is disposed with a blind hole,
the support pole of the base inserts into the blind hole of the switch element, the
blind hole is used to prevent the support pole from over extending out to touch the
cover plate, however, the blind hole is easy to break when a person is sitting on
the cover plate, the blind hole can not fix the support pole of the body to the switch
element either, structural design is needed to lock the support pole to the switch
element, the blind hole of the switch element makes the weight of the cover plate
component loading at the top end of the support pole, so it needs high strength of
a support pole.
Summary of the invention
[0003] The object of the present invention is to provide a hinged device of a cover plate
and a body of a toilet and to solve the above problems of existing technology.

[0005] A hinged device of a cover plate and a body of a toilet, which is used to assemble
a cover plate component to a ceramic body of a toilet, comprising a rotation shaft,
the cover plate component rotates about the rotation shaft, a base is disposed on
the ceramic body, the base is disposed with a supporting pole, the rotation shaft
comprises a switch element and a damper, wherein: the switch element is disposed with
a through hole in radial direction, the switch element is disposed with a slot in
axial direction, the slot and the through hole are connected; the support pole is
disposed with a groove in radial direction, the support pole of the base is inserted
into the through hole of the switch element; an insert, movably disposed inside the
slot of the switch element, the insert is locked to the groove of the support pole
under the work of an elastic force so as to lock the support bar to the switch element;
the upper end of the base is disposed with step, the bottom surface of the hinged
device is disposed on the step, the step bears the cover plate component.
[0006] The hinged device of the present invention has simple structure, it has a large bearing
surface, the upper end of the switch element loads little weight, thus making it stable
and durable. The present invention complements quick assembly and disassembly of a
cover plate of a toilet.

Detailed description of the embodiments
The first embodiment:
[0008] Please refer to FIG.1 and FIG.2, a cover plate component with a hinged device comprises
a cover plate 1 and a seatring 2. the rear portion of the cover plate 1 and the seatring
2 is disposed with a shaft sleeve 1-1, a damper 3 is disposed inside the shaft sleeve
1-1, one side of the damper is disposed with a switch element 4, the switch element
3 and the damper 3 are coaxial to compose a rotation shaft of the cover plate component,
the cover plate component rotates about the rotation shaft. Another side of the cover
plate component is disposed with another damper and switch element.
[0009] As figured in FIG.3 of a relationship of the rotation shaft and a base, the bottom
end of the switch element 4 abuts against a step 6-3 of the base 6, so that pressure
of the cover plate component and the weight of a man are directly loaded to the base
by the rotation shaft, the supporting pole 6-1 bears little weight.
[0010] As figured in FIG.4, the base 6 comprises a support pole 6-1 inserted into the through
hole 4-1. the upper end of the support pole is disposed with a groove 6-2, the upper
end of the base is disposed with a step 6-3, the height of the support pole is lower
than the height of the assembled rotation shaft, as figured in FIG.2, so that the
stress of the cover plate component is not loaded to the support pole 6-1, thus the
upper end of the support pole 6-1 works to connect and it bears little weight.
[0011] As figured in FIG.4 and FIG.5, the switch element 4 is disposed with a through hole
4-1 in radial direction, the switch element is disposed with a slot 4-2 in axial direction.
the slot 4-2 and the through hole 4-1 are connected. A button 5 is disposed in the
right side of the switch element 4, as figured in FIG.6, the right side is the button,
the other side is an insert 7, the insert has a thin sheet shape and has a lock hole
7-8, as figured in Fig.7, a spring 8 abuts between the button 5 and the switch element
4, so that under the work of the spring, the insert 7 is locked to the groove 6-2
of the support pole.
[0012] The usage of the present invention is that:
when assembling, installing the base 6 to the ceramic body, the through hole 4-1 of
the switch element 4 aligns to the support pole 6-1 of the base 6 and inserts. With
a conical structure in the top end of the support pole pushing the edge of the lock
hole 7-8 of the insert, the insert 7 of the button 5 moves to one side, under the
work of the spring 8, the insert 7 is locked to the groove 6-2, thus completing the
assembly.
[0013] When disassembling, pressing the button 5 left, so that the insert 7 moves to the
opposite side and separates from the groove 6-2, so that the cover plate component
can be taken away from the base 6.
The second embodiment:
[0014] A hinged device of a cover plate and a body of a toilet comprises a cover plate 1
and a seatring 2. the bottom of the cover plate 1 is disposed with a shaft sleeve
1-1, a switch element 4 and a damper are coaxially disposed inside the shaft sleeve
1-1, similar to the first embodiment.
[0015] The relationship of the rotation shaft and the base is figured in FIG.8, the bottom
4-5 of the switch element 4 abuts against a step 6-3 of the base, so that pressure
of the cover plate component and the weight of a man are directly loaded to the base
by the rotation shaft, the upper end of the supporting pole 6-1 bears little weight,
thus benefit to the upper end of the support pole. As figured in FIG.10, the step
6-3 and the support pole 6 are integrated, the upper end of support pole 6 is disposed
with two grooves 6-5 in axial direction, the grooves have certain length, the upper
end of the support pole has certain elasticity, the top surface of the support pole
is disposed with a lock flange 6-4. FIG.11 is figured with the switch element, the
left end of the switch element 4 is connected to the damper 3, the right end is disposed
with an elastic piece 4-3, the switch element is disposed with a through hole 4-2,
after assembled to the toilet component and fixed, the elastic piece is given a force,
the support pole 6 is given a force in radial direction when inserted, the support
pole 6 passes through the through hole 4-1 of the switch element, the lock flange
6-4 at the top end of the support pole extends out of the top surface of the switch
element 4 after passed through the through hole, thus making the support pole 6 hard
to be pulled out of the switch element. The height of the support pole is lower than
that of the upper end of the rotation shaft after assembled, as figured in FIG.9.

When assembling, installing the base 6 to the ceramic body, the switch element and
the damper are put into the shaft sleeve 1-1 at the rear end of the cover plate and
the seatring, the through hole 4-1 of the switch element 4 aligns to the support pole
6-1 of the base 6 and insert. The lock flange 6-4 at the top end of the support pole
extends until reaching to the step 6-3 of the base after passed through the through
hole
the edge of the lock hole 7-8 of the insert, the insert 7 of the button 5 moves to
one side, under the work of the spring 8, the insert 7 is locked to the groove 6-2,
thus completing the assembly.

the base 6.
The third embodiment:
[0018] A hinged device of a cover plate and a body of a toilet comprises a cover plate 1
and a seatring 2. the bottom of the cover plate 1 is disposed with a shaft sleeve
1-1, a switch element 4 and a damper are coaxially disposed inside the shaft sleeve
1-1, similar to the first embodiment.
[0019] The switch element 3 of this embodiment, similar to the second embodiment, is disposed
with an elastic piece 4-3, as figured in fig.11; the connection of the base 6 and
the switch element 3 is that: in this embodiment, the base 6 and the support pole
6-1 are not integrated, the upper end of the base is a step 6-3, it bears the pressure
of the cover plate component, the upper end of the support pole 6 of the base is disposed
with two annular grooves 6-2, 6-6, which are correspondingly sleeved with a first
sealing ring 6-4 and a second sealing ring 6-5; the first sealing ring 6-4 and the
second sealing ring 6-5 respectively closely fit or interference fit to the internal
wall of the through hole 4-1 of the switch element, under the work of friction, the
support pole 6 and the switch element 4 are stably connected.
1. A hinged device of a cover plate and a body of a toilet, which is used to assemble
a cover plate component to a ceramic body of a toilet, comprising a rotation shaft,
the cover plate component rotates about the rotation shaft, a base is disposed on
the ceramic body, the base is disposed with a supporting pole, the rotation shaft
comprises a switch element and a damper, wherein:
the switch element is disposed with a through hole in radial direction, the switch
element is disposed with a slot in axial direction, the slot and the through hole
are connected;
the support pole is disposed with a groove in radial direction, the support pole of
the base is inserted into the through hole of the switch element;
an insert, movably disposed inside the slot of the switch element, the insert is locked
to the groove of the support pole under the work of an elastic force so as to lock
the support bar to the switch element;
the upper end of the base is disposed with a step, the bottom surface of the hinged
device is disposed on the step, the step bears the cover plate component.
2. The hinged device of a cover plate and a body of a toilet according to claim 1, wherein
one side of the switch element is disposed with a damper in axial direction, the other
side of the switch element is disposed with a button, the button is connected to the
insert or the button and the insert are integrated, a spring abuts against the button
and the rotation shaft therebetween, the insert is locked to the groove of the support
pole under the work of the elastic force.
3. The hinged cover of a cover plate and a body of a toilet according to claim 1 or 2,
the height of the support pole of the base is lower than the height of the upper end
of the rotation shaft, the weight of the cover plate component doesn't load on the
end face of the support pole.
4. A hinged device of a cover plate and a body of a toilet, which is used to assemble
a cover plate component to a ceramic body of a toilet, comprising a rotation shaft,
the cover plate component rotates about the rotation shaft, a base is disposed on
the ceramic body, the base is disposed with a supporting pole, the rotation shaft
comprises a switch element and a damper, wherein:
the switch element is disposed with a through hole in radial direction;
the upper end of the support pole is disposed with at least a groove in radial direction,
the support pole of the base is inserted into the through hole of the switch element;
the upper end of the base is disposed with step, the bottom surface of the rotation
shaft is disposed on the step, the step bears the cover plate component.
5. The hinged device of a cover plate and a body of a toilet according to claim 4, wherein
the upper end of the support pole is disposed with two grooves in radial direction,
one end of the switch element is connected to the damper, the other end of the switch
element is connected to an elastic piece.
6. A hinged device of a cover plate and a body of a toilet, which is used to assemble
a cover plate component to a ceramic body of a toilet, comprising a rotation shaft,
the cover plate component rotates about the rotation shaft, a base is disposed on
the ceramic body, the base is disposed with a supporting pole, the rotation shaft
comprises a switch element and a damper, wherein:
the switch element is disposed with a through hole in radial direction;
the support pole is disposed with at least an annular groove in radial direction,
the support pole of the base is inserted into the through hole of the switch element;
the annular groove is sleeved with a sealing ring, when the support pole is inserted
into the through hole, the internal wall of the through hole fits closely to the sealing
ring or interference fits to the sealing ring to lock the support pole to the switch
element;
the upper end of the base is disposed with step, the bottom surface of the rotation
shaft of the hinged device is disposed on the step, the step bears the cover plate
component.
7. The hinged device of a cover plate and a body of a toilet according to claim 6, wherein
the support pole is disposed with two annular grooves, one end of the switch element
is connected to the damper, the other end of the switch element is connected to an
elastic piece.
