[0001] The present invention relates to a reinforced door that has innovative and improved
characteristics with respect to commercially available ones.
[0002] It is specified that a reinforced door (or intruder-resistant door) is a specific
closure element intended to be installed in an opening for access to an enclosed space
(be it a dwelling, an office or other) that has specific security characteristics
against break-ins. Hereinafter, the expression "reinforced door" will actually reference
all doors that have high standards of security against break-ins, such as for example
armored doors, intruder-resistant doors, security doors and other equivalent devices.
[0003] The performances of a reinforced door against break-ins are ensured by the lock installed
on the door itself (since it might be possible to open the door by picking the lock)
and by the actual structure of the door and of its frame.
[0004] The door in fact comprises respective bolts that are intended (in the closed configuration)
to engage within respective seats of the frame in a stable manner and furthermore
comprises several reinforcement elements inside it, which are intended to increase
its mechanical strength and stiffness.
[0005] Among the weak points, as regards the mechanical performance required to avoid break-ins,
it is necessary to mention the hinges.
[0006] These components in fact must have a structure and a size suitable to bear the weight
of the door in a cantilever arrangement (in some cases even more than 100 kg) and
bear mechanical break-in stresses, such as for example the action of a crowbar or
other break-in lever (applying static or dynamic pressures).
[0007] It is therefore necessary to adopt particular sizes for these components that ensure
their necessary stiffness and mechanical strength.
[0008] At the same time it is also necessary to be able to adjust the position of the door
with respect to the frame (during its installation) to ensure all the necessary alignments
that ensure effective and secure closure. All these adjustments are usually performed
on the hinges.
[0009] Reconciling the extreme mechanical strength required of these components with the
possibility to adjust the position of the leaf with respect to the frame in a precise
manner is the main limitation to which hinges of the known type are subjected.
[0010] A particularly strong and resistant hinge does not have many adjustments and therefore
requires the frame to be installed in a substantially perfect manner in order to ensure
good operation of the reinforced door.
[0011] A hinge provided with several adjustments is instead particularly suitable to tolerate
inaccuracies in the mounting of the frame in the installation opening (since such
inaccuracies can be corrected by means of the adjustment of the hinges themselves).
However, such hinge is less resistant from a mechanical standpoint and is therefore
more easily subject to break-ins.
[0012] A further problem that is common to all reinforced doors is linked to thermal and
acoustic performance: a closure element in fact must ensure thermal and acoustic insulation
with respect to the outside environment (so-called AWW insulation, i.e., intended
to prevent infiltrations of air, water and wind).
[0013] This performance finds its reference in many statutory provisions in force (at the
European and international level) that define thermal and acoustic insulation standards
for reinforced doors.
[0014] Traditional doors comprise gaskets, chambers filled with rock wool (and the like)
and internal panels made of insulating material to achieve this purpose.
[0015] However, the arrangement of these elements is insufficient to avoid the presence
of thermal bridges (a limited local region of the building enclosure that has a higher
heat flow density than the adjacent constructive elements) and/or the transmission
of sound waves.
[0016] The aim of the present invention is to solve the problems described above, by proposing
a reinforced door provided with break-in resistant hinges that are adjustable for
the optimum hermetic closure of the door with an increase in thermal and acoustic
efficiency.
[0017] Within this aim, an object of the invention is to propose a reinforced door that
is simple to install with a hermetic and acoustic seal even if the frame is installed
on the respective opening without complying strictly with the parameters prescribed
by the manufacturer.
[0018] Another object of the invention is to propose a reinforced door that has a modest
heat transmittance and therefore insulates thermally in an optimum manner the installation
space from the outside.
[0019] Another object of the invention is to propose a reinforced door that has good acoustic
insulation and therefore insulates acoustically in an optimum manner the installation
space from the outside.
[0020] A further object of the present invention is to provide a reinforced door that has
substantially low costs, is relatively simple to provide in practice and is safe in
application.
[0021] This aim and these objects are achieved by a reinforced door of the type that comprises
at least one frame provided with at least one upright and at least one crossmember
that can be installed in an opening of a wall and at least one leaf provided with
at least one perimetric border, with at least one panel that constitutes a face of
said leaf, with internal reinforcement and stiffening elements, with insulating material
and with a lock controlled by respective bolts, between said frame and said leaf there
being interposed at least one mutual connection hinge, characterized in that said
hinge comprises at least one plate that can be coupled detachably to a respective
upright, said plate being provided with at least one hollow protruding block for the
pivoting of a slider for supporting the hinge, between said plate and said slider
there being means for adjusting their mutual arrangement, perimetrically to said leaf
there being at least one sealing gasket intended to abut against a corresponding surface
of said frame exclusively at predefined conditions of mutual alignment thereof that
derive from the mutual arrangement of said plate and said slider.
[0022] Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent
from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of the reinforced
door according to the invention, illustrated by way of nonlimiting example in the
accompanying drawings, wherein:

[0023] With particular reference to the figures cited above, the reference numeral 1 generally
designates a reinforced door.
[0024] The reinforced door 1 comprises at least one frame 2 provided with at least one upright
(actually, the vertical uprights are two in number, are mutually parallel and face
each other) and at least one crossmember (which is perpendicular to the two uprights
and is arranged at their top) that can be installed in an opening of a wall.
[0025] The door 1 comprises furthermore a leaf 3 provided with at least one perimetric border
4, with at least one panel 5 that constitutes a face thereof, with internal reinforcement
and stiffening elements 6, with insulating material 7 and with a lock 8 controlled
by respective bolts 9.
[0026] At least one hinge 10 for mutual connection is interposed between the frame 2 and
the leaf 3.
[0027] The hinge 10 according to the invention comprises at least one plate 11 that can
be coupled detachably to a respective upright.
[0028] The plate 11 is provided with at least one hollow protruding block 12 for the pivoting
of a slider 13 for supporting the hinge 14.
[0029] Means for adjusting their mutual arrangement are arranged between the plate 11 and
the slider 13.
[0030] It is fundamental to specify that at least one sealing gasket 15, intended to abut
against a corresponding surface of the frame 2, is arranged perimetrically to the
leaf 3.
[0031] The abutment of the leaf 3 and of the frame 2, with compression of the gasket 15
intended to seal the gap that exists between the two components, occurs exclusively
upon predefined conditions of mutual alignment thereof that derive from the mutual
arrangement of the plate 11 and of the slider 13.
[0032] More precisely, the conditions of correct placement of the plate 11 (integral with
the frame 2) and the slider 13 (integral with the leaf 3 by means of the hinge 14)
allow to impose a suitable mutual alignment of the leaf 3 and of the frame 2 that
entails that the play between them falls within a predefined range. The gasket 15
ensures an optimum seal against infiltrations of air (or also of water, the containment
of which is also specifically prescribed by the statutory provisions in force) exclusively
if the play between the leaf 3 and the frame 2 falls within the predefined range.
It is therefore evident that the trimmability (possibility to adjust) the hinge 10
is a fundamental element for avoiding air infiltrations.
[0033] It is specified that when, hereinafter, reference shall be made to air infiltrations,
one shall consider that the solutions adopted to contain said infiltrations will also
have the purpose of avoiding infiltrations of water and/or wind and/or combined infiltrations.
One can therefore speak of technical solutions aimed at avoiding infiltrations of
the type defined by the acronym AWW (Air, Water, Wind).
[0034] It is specified that, with particular reference to a constructive solution that is
particularly effective in practice and in application, the upright comprises a rear
profile 16, which is coupled stably to the installation wall, and a front profile
17, which can be mated to the front profile 16, delimiting a compartment.
[0035] A corner support 18 is coupled rigidly (generally welded) to the rear profile 16
and is provided with respective threaded seats 19.
[0036] The plate 11 comprises specific slots 20, which are substantially complementary to
the threaded seats 19 of the corner support 18 for its mating, with an adjustable
arrangement, to said profile by means of threaded elements 21.
[0037] In particular, it is pointed out that the slots 20 are four in number, each having
a substantially angular shape that comprises two substantially rectilinear portions
that are incident and mutually blended.
[0038] This configuration allows translations of the plate 11 with respect to the corner
support 18 (translations along two perpendicular directions that correspond to the
substantially rectilinear incident portions, since they form between them, according
to a preferred constructive solution, a right angle). At the same time, the presence
of the blending region between the two incident portions allows small rotations of
the plate 11 with respect to the corner support 18.
[0039] In practice, the position and orientation of the plate 11 can be set and are adjustable
in order to ensure optimum conditions of alignment of the leaf 3 and the frame 2 that
allow the gasket 15 to ensure an optimum seal against air infiltrations.
[0040] It is specified that the slider 13 is constituted by a U-shaped band, which is provided,
on the two portions 21 (which face each other and are mutually opposite at a mutual
distance that is slightly greater than the length of the hollow protruding the block
12 of the plate 11), with a through channel 22.
[0041] In the configuration for use, a connecting pin 23 is accommodated simultaneously
in the through channel 22 and in the cavity of the protruding block 12.
[0042] It is therefore evident that the slider 13, pivoted to the plate 11 as a consequence
of the accommodation of the pivot 23 in its channel 22 and in the cavity of the block
12, can oscillate with respect to said plate.
[0043] This allows a further possibility to adjust the position of the hinge 14, which facilitates
and simplifies the obtainment of ideal conditions of alignment between the leaf 3
and the frame 2, facilitating the correct arrangement of the gasket 15 in the configuration
for closing the door 1 (avoiding air infiltrations).
[0044] According to a possible constructive solution, the through channel 22 and the cavity
of the block 12 can be threaded identically; in this case, the connecting pivot 23
is constituted by a screw whose diameter and thread are complementary to those of
the through channel 22 and of the cavity.
[0045] The through channel 22 and the cavity of the block 12 might also have a diameter
that is slightly larger than that of the pivot 23.
[0046] The pivot 23 is provided with a lock nut 24, which couples its end, ensuring its
locking and therefore the stable coupling of the slider 13 with the plate 11.
[0047] It is specified that in any case the block 12 comprises at least one threaded transverse
hole 25 that leads to the cavity, for the accommodation of at least one respective
grub 26 for locking the connecting pivot 23.
[0048] Preferably, the holes 25 and the respective grubs 26 are two in number, so as to
be certain that the locking of the pivot 23 occurs safely and redundantly.
[0049] By tightening the grubs 26, their end is forced against the surface of the pivot
23, clamping it within the cavity of the block 12.
[0050] It is specified furthermore that the slider 13, in order to allow its locking according
to a specific orientation with respect to the plate 11 and ensure the possibility
to perform subsequent adjustments of this orientation, comprises at least one threaded
duct 27, which is perpendicular and oblique with respect to the through channel 22,
for the accommodation of a respective threaded pin 28, the tip of which abuts against
the plate 11.
[0051] The rotation of the pin 28, which corresponds to the screwing and unscrewing thereof,
in the respective duct 27, ensures the adjustment of the arrangement of the slider
13 with respect to the plate 11, thanks to the consequent mutual spacing/approach
of the threaded duct 27 with respect to the plate 11 itself, which is indeed imposed
by the threaded pin 28.
[0052] Actually, the threaded ducts 27, 29 are two in number, arranged at the two sides
of the slider 13 with respect to the channel 22: each one of them accommodates a respective
threaded pin 28, 30.
[0053] In this manner, as a consequence of the screwing/unscrewing of the pins 28, 30, it
is possible to adjust the orientation of the slider 13 with respect to the plate 11
and to secure and lock it in the ideal alignment configuration.
[0054] One of the two threaded pins 28, 30 might abut against the support 18 or against
the rear profile 16 instead of against the plate 11: in any case, a movement thereof
causes a rotation of the slider 13 with respect to the plate 11.
[0055] The hinge 10 according to the invention comprises furthermore means for adjusting
the height of the rotation pivot that can rotate within the hinge 14: this can be
achieved, for example, by using a threaded element the end of which acts on the rotation
pivot, translating it in its seat (in practice, the threaded element moves the abutment
plane of the end of the rotation pin, thus varying the pivoting height of the leaf
3).
[0056] The hinge 14 is coupled to the slider 13 by means of adapted screws 31 that are engaged
within holes 32 of the slider 13 and seats 33 of the hinge.
[0057] As illustrated extensively earlier, the hinge 10 therefore can be adjusted according
to four different axes, allowing an optimum trimming of the mutual position of the
leaf 3 and of the frame 2, even in conditions of installation on openings in the respective
wall that do not have ideal measurements and alignments.
[0058] With the goal of achieving the intended aim and objects defined earlier, thus ensuring
optimal thermal and acoustic insulation of the door 1, it is specified that in the
door 1 according to the invention at least one component of the leaf 3 and/or of the
frame 2 comprises at least one outer coating layer constituted by insulating paints.
[0059] Likewise, at least one internal cavity of the leaf 3 and/or of the frame 2 accommodates
a thermal insulation material that is inserted therein by means of a process such
as blowing, dry spraying and the like.
[0060] It is useful to specify that the insulating paints used in the door 1 according to
the invention comprise, in a dispersion, at least one substance selected among particles
of insulating oxides, ceramic nanospheres, ceramic micro- and nanobubbles, oxide micro-
and nanobubbles, and the like.
[0061] Merely by way of nonlimiting example, some paints that are already commercially available
and can be used to provide the outer layer defined earlier are the following: Nansulate®,
which is a water-based breathable paint that covers completely any structure, creating
a very thin but tough barrier to the passage of heat, is highly resistant to mold
formation, is impermeable to water and breathable and utilizes the presence in a dispersion
of patented oxide nanomolecules (hydro-NM-oxide); SurfaPaint-ThermoDry™ Metals, which
is a water-based and water-repellent thermal insulation paint for metals; NanoceramiX™,
which is a mixture of ceramic nanospheres that is formulated to be added to ordinary
paints and in which the ceramic nanospheres have an internal void similar to that
of thermos flasks; EcoThermoPaint™, which is an eco-active, thermally insulating,
natural mold-resistant paint, which sanitizes and ionizes air and uses insulating
hollow ceramics and mineral salts which create a barrier against adhesion to the surfaces
of all organic and inorganic particles.
[0062] It is specified moreover that in order to define the criteria for acoustic and thermal
insulation of predominant interest for the applicant, the thermal insulation material
comprises at least one material selected preferably among cellulose fiber, aerogel,
sintered expanded polystyrene, expanded polymers.
[0063] It is fundamental to specify that according to the invention the thermal insulation
material has deeply different characteristics with respect to what is already in use
in doors of the traditional type: it is in fact known to resort to panels made of
expanded polymers or rock wool or glass wool that are used to fill all the cavities
that are present inside the door.
[0064] The thermal insulation material according to the invention is instead inserted within
each hollow component or in each receptacle that is defined by two or more mutually
facing components. This constructive choice eliminates most of the thermal bridges
that are present inside the leaf 3 and the frame 2 and minimizes heat and sound transmission
coefficients.
[0065] Merely by way of nonlimiting example, some thermal insulation materials that are
already commercially available and can be used to fill said cavities are the following:
cellulose fiber (preferably stabilized), which is a loose thermal and acoustic insulation
material that is particularly suitable for the thermal insulation of interspaces,
is permeable to water vapor and has excellent sound absorption and soundproofing abilities,
suppressing the reverberation of noise; Aerogel Spaceloft®, which is a silica gel
that is manufactured synthetically and is impregnated in a substrate of flexible fabric
that constitutes a flexible insulating cladding made of nanoporous aerogel that is
capable of reducing energy dispersion even if it is applied with minimal thicknesses;
granules of virgin or regenerated expanded polystyrene, which is a product with a
uniform distribution of dimensional percentages, with substantially no water absorption
and which allows even considerable reductions in transmitted noise.
[0066] In any case, combining the adoption of insulating paints and/or thermal insulation
materials is not excluded, even using optionally other types of paints and materials
(different from the ones cited) and/or by combining them with other insulating layers.
[0067] For this purpose, mention is made of the possibility to provide the external coatings
of some components of the door 1 with laminas made of insulating materials; for example,
provisions are made for resorting to the Spaceloft® insulating felt (and/or materials
that are equivalent thereto), glued by means of the respective bio-adhesive (and/or
substances equivalent thereto) for the cladding of several components.
[0068] In relation to the interest in providing a reinforced door 1 that constitutes an
excellent shield against heat flows and sound waves, all the components of the leaf
3 and of the frame 2 comprise at least one outer cladding layer, which is constituted
by insulating paints, and all the internal cavities of the leaf 3 and of the frame
2 accommodate a thermal insulation material that is inserted therein by means of a
process such as blowing, dry spraying and the like.
[0069] Blowing is a method by means of which it is possible to "blow" a material until a
"container" is filled completely.
[0070] This term indicates the method of inserting some loose thermoacoustic insulation
materials, such as flakes of wood cellulose and the like, within cavities.
[0071] Correct blowing entails: complete and uniform filling of the cavity to be insulated,
formation of a self-supporting insulating element that does not empty itself as a
consequence of a hole in the container, the absence of waste, the continuity of the
layers of insulation and therefore the elimination of thermal bridges.
[0072] It is specified that the internal stiffening elements 6 are provided with holes 6a
or openings that allow the blowing of thermally insulating material.
[0073] If the internal elements 6 are mutually coupled slats, it is possible to use the
areas where one slat is joined to the other for blowing if one does not wish to provide
adapted holes.
[0074] If instead the elements 6 are constituted by tubular profiles that are mutually interconnected
so as to constitute a grating, they must comprise respective holes that allow the
blowing of insulating material.
[0075] The tubular profiles that constitute the grating described above can be mutually
interconnected by using shape matings, so as to minimize the welding interventions
to individual tack welds (localized welds).
[0076] According to the invention, along the perimeter of the leaf 3 (particularly along
the perimetric frame 4) there is at least one sealing gasket 15 that is intended to
abut against a corresponding surface of the frame 2.
[0077] The gasket 15 has a shape intended to eliminate (or at least reduce significantly)
air infiltrations even if the predefined conditions of ideal alignment of the leaf
3 and the frame 2 do not occur (due for example to imprecise mounting of the frame
2 or to geometric and dimensional problems of the opening provided in the installation
wall).
[0078] It is specified, therefore, that the at least one sealing gasket 15 has a closed
rectangular shape with dimensions that are substantially similar to those of the leaf
3.
[0079] More specifically, it is necessary to point out that the gasket 15 is provided in
one piece so that it can be fitted onto the leaf 3, defining a sort of continuous
loop that covers at least partially the perimetric border 4 of said leaf 3.
[0080] In order to provide this continuous loop, one begins with linear segments of elastomeric
profile that are as long as the sides of the leaf 3: by using specific joining apparatuses
(blocks of elastomeric material whose opposite faces are shaped appropriately to mate
stably with the profile being used), one proceeds with a process for joining the linear
segments until a closed gasket 15 is provided.
[0081] The joining process can occur by heat-sealing and/or thermocompression (if the profile
and the joining apparatuses comprise at least one portion made of thermoplastic elastomers)
or by means of specific adhesive bonding operations (which ensure a high tenacity
and maintain it over time).
[0082] In order to achieve the desired sealing performance, the joining apparatuses have
a shape that allows to mate segments that are oriented differently with respect to
each other. The need may in fact occur to ensure that different parts of the leaf
3 abut against the frame 2 along different directions (for example due to the presence
of edges and/or protruding tabs). Therefore, this leads to the need to orient the
respective segment so that it can abut against the surface that is complementary thereto
along the ideal direction.
[0083] It is furthermore necessary to specify additionally that the possibility is provided
to adopt auxiliary joining means that are interposed between at least two consecutive
segments intended to cover one side of the perimetric border 4 in order to allow any
expansions of the gasket 15. The gasket 15 is in fact provided with dimensions that
are suitable to mate by elastic forcing (therefore elongation of said gasket 15) with
the border 4. In some cases, therefore, it is appropriate to ensure that the elastic
deformations that are a consequence of the arrangement of the gasket 15 on the leaf
3 are located exclusively in some regions, in particular the ones that are less subject
to air infiltrations.
[0084] This goal is achieved by adopting auxiliary joining means, which deform more easily
than the elastomeric profile segments: during the arrangement of the gasket 15 on
the leaf 3, the elastic elongations of the gasket 15 are located at the auxiliary
joining means (with high deformability), ensuring that the segments of elastomeric
profile maintain their ideal shape.
[0085] In particular, the cross-section of the gasket 15 comprises a base main body 34,
which defines internally a closed chamber 35, and a curved band 36. The band 36 protrudes
from the outer centerline portion of the main body 34.
[0086] The band 36 is constituted substantially by a flat strip of elastomeric material
that has a curved cross-section: more specifically, it is constituted by two substantially
flat and mutually incident (ideally perpendicular) flaps joined by a curved portion.
[0087] According to a constructive solution of particular interest in practice and in application,
the leaf 3 can comprise an internal lever system 37, which is controlled by a movement
control element 38 that can be operated from the outside.
[0088] The lever system 37 is preset to move at least one slider 39 from an inactive configuration,
at which it is accommodated substantially in a respective area of the perimetric border
4 of the leaf 3, to an active configuration, at which said slider 39 protrudes with
respect to the perimetric border 4 of the leaf 3 for the elastic hermetic forcing
of the gasket 15 that surmounts it against a corresponding face of the frame 2.
[0089] The movement control element 38 that can be operated from the outside can be connected
to a dedicated handle provided on the face of the leaf 3 that is directed toward the
inside of the installation space. However, the possibility is not excluded to adopt
servomechanisms intended to actuate the control element 38 and/or to interconnect
mechanically said control element to the lock 8 in order to ensure that the transition
from the inactive configuration to the active configuration can be provided simply
by moving the key to a predefined position.
[0090] According to a constructive solution that is particularly interesting on a practical
level, the at least one slider 39 preferably can have an angular shape. In this case,
it is accommodated along the perimetric border 4 of the leaf 3, at a corner thereof.
The advantage of this embodiment is linked to the fact that in traditional doors the
infiltrations of air occur predominantly at the corners of the leaf 3: the forcing
of respective angular sliders 39, indeed at the corners, ensures that an optimum tightness
to infiltrations of air is ensured in these regions.
[0091] It is specified, moreover, that the gasket 15 (in particular the elastomeric profile
starting from which it is provided) is made of elastomeric material with shape memory,
i.e., material adapted to assume the initial configuration even after it has been
subjected to a long-term deformation. This type of material is used already to provide
gaskets that are typical of other technological sectors and is instead an absolute
novelty in the field of reinforced doors. It is evident that such materials allow
to ensure that tightness to air infiltrations persists over time and remains substantially
constant throughout the life of the door 1.
[0092] It is deemed useful to specify that the curved band 36 has the tip substantially
aligned with the lateral profile of the main body 34.
[0093] This particular shape ensures that upon contact of the lateral edge of the main body
34 with an abutment surface 40 (for example of the frame 2) a portion of the band
36 also abuts against the abutment surface 40.
[0094] At this arrangement of abutment on the surface 40, between the band 36 and the main
body 34 there is a closed compartment 41 that constitutes a hindrance for air infiltrations.
[0095] It is useful to point out that in order to increase tightness to air infiltrations
and therefore the thermal and acoustic performance of said door 1, the leaf 3 comprises
preferably two substantially mutually opposite gaskets 15, i.e., provided with oppositely
oriented bands 36.
[0096] Upon closure of the leaf 3, with its juxtaposition against the frame 2, each band
36 is therefore forced on a respective abutment surface 40 with a thrust that depends
on the pressure, caused by any drafts, that is present upstream of said band 36. In
practice a path for sealing against air infiltrations is provided in which, if an
unwanted infiltration occurs at one of the two gaskets 15 that are present, the shape
of the other gasket is such as to increase the force with which the respective band
36 is pushed against the respective abutment 40 following the increase in pressure
upstream thereof caused by the above cited air infiltration. Therefore, this constructive
solution ensures a considerable reduction of air infiltrations, up to their total
elimination.
[0097] Conveniently, the present invention solves the problems described earlier, proposing
a reinforced door 1 provided with adjustable break-in resistant hinges 10, for the
optimum hermetic closure of the door with an increase in thermal and acoustic efficiency.
It is in fact easy to notice that the hinges 10 are constituted by components that
are very strong in relation to their size and their compactness and are therefore
particularly efficient against break-ins. At the same time, the hinges 10 have a plurality
of adjustments that make them more convenient and effective with respect to those
of the known type and allow the installation technician to align the leaf 3 with the
frame 2 in an optimum manner.
[0098] Positively, the reinforced door 1 therefore can be installed simply, ensuring an
optimum thermal and acoustic seal, even if the frame has been fitted on the respective
opening without strictly complying with the parameters prescribed by the manufacturer:
this occurs indeed by way of the many adjustments that are possible by means of the
hinge 10.
[0099] Advantageously, the reinforced door 1 has a low thermal transmittance and therefore
thermally insulates in an optimum manner the installation space with respect to the
outside.
[0100] Advantageously, the reinforced door 1 has good thermal insulation and therefore acoustically
insulates in an optimum manner the installation space with respect to the outside.
[0101] Validly, the reinforced door 1 has substantially low costs, is relatively simple
to provide in practice and is safe in application.
[0102] The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations,
all of which are within the scope of the appended claims; all the details may furthermore
be replaced with other technically equivalent elements.
[0103] In particular, suitable architectural elements 100 are adopted to provide the threshold
below the leaf.
[0104] These elements 100 are inserted in the flooring and cause an interruption of the
flooring with consequent blocking of heat flows.
[0105] These elements 100 are preferably made of metal profile or folded metal plate, which
can be coated with paints among the ones cited earlier. The compartment 101 inside
the element 100 is filled (preferably by blowing) with the thermal insulation materials
described earlier.
[0106] The presence of a flap 102 that is folded inwardly to interrupt any heat flow through
the walls of said element 100 is provided from the outset.
[0107] In the examples of embodiment shown, individual characteristics, given in relation
to specific examples, may actually be interchanged with other different characteristics
that exist in other examples of embodiment.
[0108] In practice, the materials used, as well as the dimensions, may be any according
to requirements and to the state of the art.
[0109] Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs,
those reference signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility
of the claims and accordingly such reference signs do not have any limiting effect
on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference
signs.
