DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

[0011] The invention is further described in the following detailed description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be noted that the description of the specific embodiments is for the purpose of a better understanding of the invention, but not intended to constitute any limitation to the invention. Moreover, the technical features recited in the various embodiments of the invention described below may be combined with each other to the extent that no inconsistence is caused.

[0012] In the context of the invention, the terms, such as "left end", "right end" or the like, which indicate directional or positional relationships, will refer to those directions or positions as illustrated in the drawings, and are only used for the purpose of describing the invention, and thus shall not be construed as limitation thereto.

[0013] In the context of the invention, the terms "first", "second", "third" and "fourth" are only used for the purpose of description, and shall not be construed to indicate or imply the relative importance thereof.

[0014] In Figs. 1 to 4, a simple door hinge is shown, comprising:

an outer housing 7, an inner housing 13 and a mounting base 6; the inner housing 13 being fixedly mounted in the outer housing 7, with a space formed between two side walls and a top surface of the inner housing 13 and two side walls and a top surface of the outer housing 7, and the mounting base 6 being inserted into the space between the outer housing 7 and inner housing 13 and being detachably fixed by means of an adjustment screw 9 and a connection pin 8;

a hinge cup 1, a connection member 11, a linkage 15 and a U-shaped pivot 10; the U-shaped pivot 10 being mounted in the hinge cup 1 and left ends of the connection member 11 and the linkage 15, respectively, being pivotably connected to the U-shaped pivot 10;

a torsional spring 12, a first pivot 2 and a second pivot 3; the first pivot 2 and the second pivot 3 being mounted in a left end of the outer housing 7, a right end of the connection member 11 being pivotably connected to the first pivot 2, the torsional spring 12 being disposed around the first pivot 2, one end of the torsional spring 12 abutting on the outer housing 7, and the other end of the torsional spring 12 abutting on the connection member 11; and

a push means, a first pin 14 and a damping cylinder 18; the damping cylinder 18 being mounted within the inner housing 13 by means of the first pin 14, a piston rod 181 of the damping cylinder 18 at an end being threadedly connected with a right threading portion of the push means, a left end of the push means engaging with a right end of the linkage 15 such that the push means pushes the linkage 15 or the push means is pushed by the linkage 15.

[0015] Since the piston rod 181 of the damping cylinder 18 at the end is threadedly connected with the right threading end of the push means, the end of the piston rod 181 is not required to be drilled, such that the piston rod 181 may have a relatively small size and thus the volume of the damping cylinder 18 is reduced such that the design is more compact. Also because the damping cylinder 18 is mounted within the inner housing 13, a detachable fixation can be achieved by means of the adjustment screw 9 and the connection pin 8, when mounting the mounting base 6 and the outer housing 7. During installation, the mounting base 6 may be fixed to a door frame whereas the hinge cup 1 may be fixed to a door panel respectively, and then the mounting base 6 is inserted in the outer housing 7 and is fixed thereto by means of the adjustment screw 9 and the connection pin 8.

[0016] In the embodiment, to facilitate the connection of the push means with the piston rod 181, the push means comprises a push member 16 and a sleeve 17. A right end of the sleeve 17 is threadedly connected with the end of the piston rod 181 and the left end of the sleeve 17 is connected with the right end of the push member 16 by means of two second pins 20. The left end of the push member 16 engages with the right end of the linkage 15 such that the push member 16 may push the linkage 15 or the push means may be pushed by the linkage 15.

[0017] In the embodiment, to fixedly mount the inner housing 13 in the outer housing 7, the inner housing 13 at its left end is provided with an opening extension feature 131 which extends toward both sides and forms a close fit with two side walls of the outer housing 7 end. Provided are a third pivot 4 and a fourth pivot 5 which each extend through the opening extension feature 131 to provide a further fixation of the inner housing 13 in the outer housing 7. The inner housing 13 may be fixedly mounted in the outer housing 7 in accordance other means as desired, e.g., by means of protrusion for a further fixation of the inner housing 13 in the outer housing 7.

[0018] In the embodiment, to push the linkage 15 by the push member 16 or to push the push member 16 by the linkage 15, the push member 16 at its left end is provided with two racks 161 and the linkage 15 at its right end is provided with a gear 151 at both sides, wherein the racks 161 mesh with the gears 151. The push member 16 may engage with the linkage 15 in accordance with other means as desired, e.g., by means of pivot connection of the push member 16 and the linkage 15 by a pin.

[0019] In the embodiment, the adjustment screw 9 is arranged on the top surface of the outer housing 7 and threadedly engages therewith. The adjustment screw 9 at its lower end is provided with an annular groove 91. The mounting base 6 at its left end is provided with a U-shaped notch 61 which fits into the annular groove 91. The connection pin 8 is arranged at the right end of the mounting base 6 and threadedly engages therewith. The outer housing 7 at its right end is provided with a U-shaped notch 71 on which the connection pin 8 is supported.

[0020] The embodiments of the present invention have been particularly described with reference to the accompanying drawings, but the scope of the present invention is not to be interpreted as limited to the embodiments disclosed herein. As will be appreciated by those skilled in the art, various changes, modifications, alternatives or variations may be made without departing from the concept and spirit of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
