(54) PRINTER AND PAPER GUIDE


(57) A printer including a fixed guide and a movable guide that regulates a position of a paper on the placement surface of a placement section (12). The movable guide (100) slides in a first direction along the placement surface. The placement section (12) includes recessed parts (14) aligned in the first direction. The movable guide (100) includes a wall section; a lever (102) that extends in a second direction; and a raised part (104a) that engages with one of the recessed parts (14). The raised part engages with the recessed part more firmly when the raised part moves to the other side in the first direction. The raised part (104a) releases the engagement with recessed part when the raised part is turned by a force applied to the lever (102) to the other side in the first direction, and the raised part turns by using an end part of the placement surface side of the lever (102) as a fulcrum.
