BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
[0001] The field of the invention is machinery, more specifically, a smoke alarm which has
compact structure.
2. Description of the Related Art
[0002] The present technology for smoke alarms commonly consists of a circuit board, a smoke
collecting box, a housing, a installation base-plate, and a buzzer. The base-plate
is arranged on the ceiling. The housing is consisted of upper housing and lower housing.
The upper housing is detachably connected to the installation base-plate, and clip-on
connection is commonly used. The lower surface of the lower housing needs to be arranged
with a button and a tune trope. If the circuit board detected the smoke concentration
exceeds the setting value, the buzzer would be controlled to make a sound, and the
buzzer would amplify the sound via tune trope. This type of smoke alarm has the following
disadvantages: (1). the button is arranged individually, which occupies space and
the structure is not compact, which affects the volume of the entire smoke alarm;
(2). the smoke collecting box is an integral whole. If the button needs to contact
with the circuit board, the column of the button needs to contact with the circuit
board from the exterior of the smoke collecting box, and, in this way, the area of
the circuit board needs to be bigger than the cross section of the smoke collecting
box, and it increases the volume of the smoke alarm accordingly.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0003] Accordingly, for the major defects of the present smoke alarms, the present invention
provides a smoke alarm which is compact in structure and small in volume.
[0004] To reach the upper mentioned aim, the specific technical plan is as follow:
A smoke alarm comprises a housing, a circuit board, a smoke collecting box, a buzzer
and a tune trope, and the circuit board; and the smoke collecting box, the buzzer
and the tune trope are arranged inside the housing successively, wherein it also comprises
a button column; a button module is arranged on the circuit board; a first through-hole
is arranged on the smoke collecting box; the button column is configured slidably
inside the first through-hole; one end of the button column matches with the button
module of the circuit board; the another end of the button column is connected with
the tune trope; the tune trope 8 is configured slidably inside the housing; the sliding
direction of the tune trope is the same as the sliding direction of the button column;
the smoke alarm drives one end of the button column through the sliding of the tune
trope to touch with the button module of the circuit board to emit the button signal.
[0005] Preferably, the cross section of the smoke collecting box is equal to or smaller
than the sectional area of the circuit board, wherein the sectional area refers to
the cross section along the smoke alarm.
[0006] Preferably, another end of the button column is fixedly connected with the tune trope.
[0007] Preferably, a reset spring is configured between the tune trope and smoke collecting
box.
[0008] Preferably, the housing comprises an upper housing and a lower housing which are
both cylinder shape, and an annular mesh enclosure for filtering air impurities is
configured between the upper housing and lower housing.
[0009] Preferably, the mesh enclosure is welding by laser.
[0010] Preferably, the smoke alarm further comprises a light pipe for transmitting light;
one end of the light pipe is connected with the LED light, and another end of the
light pipe communicates with the exterior of the housing, and it transmits the light
to the exterior of the housing via the light pipe.
[0011] Preferably, the tune trope is also configured with a light transmitting shell; the
smoke collecting box is also configured a second through-hole, and the light pipe
is arranged inside the second through-hole; another end of the light pipe is connected
with the light transmitting shell of the tune trope.
[0012] Preferably, the smoke alarm further comprises a battery; the battery is arranged
between the circuit board and the housing.
[0013] Preferably, the housing is also configured with a battery jar which is coupled with
the battery.
[0014] With respect to the present technology, the technical plan of the present invention
has the following advantages:
- 1. Through integrating of the button to the tune trope, the tune trope can also be
used as a button, users can press the tune trope directly in use, and the button column
which is located on the upper surface of the tune trope will touch the button module
on the circuit board, so that it provides the function of button, and reduce the components,
make the structure more compact and the volume smaller;
- 2. Configuring the button column inside the through-hole of the smoke collecting box
makes it no need to retain extra space for the button switch on the lateral position
of circuit board, and reduces the sectional area of the circuit, which can make the
size of the circuit board the same as the cross section of the smoke collecting box,
and even smaller than the cross sectional area of the smoke collecting box, so that
it makes the cross sectional area of the entire smoke alarm smaller.
- 3. Through placing the battery parallelly, it avoids the place of the clips of the
housing etc., and utilizes the vertical space of the housing which reduces the crosswise
area of the alarm, makes the structure more compact, and reduces the volume of the
smoke alarm;
- 4. By using the light pipe to transmit the LED light on the circuit board to the exterior
of the housing, it avoids the problem of dustproof properties and waterproofness causing
by the light transmitting of the through-hole of the housing;
- 5. A laser welded mesh enclosure is configured in the housing, and it filters the
impurities in the air and improves the dustproof properties.

As shown in Figure 1, a smoke alarm of one embodiment of the invention comprises:
a base-plate 1, an upper housing 2, a battery 3, a circuit board 4, a smoke collecting
box 5, a mesh enclosure 6, a buzzer 7, a tune trope 8 and a lower housing 9.
[0020] The upper housing 2 is detachably connected to the installation base-plate 1. The
lower housing 9, the mesh enclosure 6 and the upper housing 2 are connected successively
and form the housing. The battery 3, the circuit board 4, and the smoke collecting
box 5, buzzer 7 and tune trope 8 are arranged downwards successively inside the housing
as shown inside the figure.
[0021] Wherein, the smoke alarm further comprises a button column 8.1. The circuit board
4 is configured with a button module. The smoke collecting box 5 is configured with
a first through-hole, and the button column 8.1 is configured slidably inside the
first through-hole. One end of the button column 8.1 matches with the button module
of the circuit board 4, and the another end of the button column 8.1 is connected
with the tune trope 8.The tune trope 8 is configured slidably inside the housing,
and the sliding direction of the tune trope 8 is the same as the sliding direction
of the button column 8.1. Preferably, the sliding direction is the same as the arrangement
direction of the extension direction of the housing, the circuit board 4, the smoke
collecting box 5, the buzzer 7 and the tune trope 8 successively. The smoke alarm
drives one end of the button column 8.1 through the sliding of the tune trope 8 to
touch with the button module of the circuit board 4 to emit the button signal.
[0022] The present invention integrates the button to the tune trope 8, the tune trope 8
can also be used as a button, users can press the tune trope 8 directly in use, and
the button column 8.1 which is located on the upper surface of the tune trope 8 will
touch the button module on the circuit board 4, so that it provides the function of
button, and reduce the components, make the structure more compact and the volume
smaller.
[0023] As shown in figure 1, in one of the embodiments of the present invention, the smoke
collecting box 5 is arranged at the central position of the annular mesh enclosure
6, which filters the impurities in the air that enters the smoke collecting box 5,
and preferably, the mesh enclosure is welded by laser.
[0024] The circuit board 4, the smoke collecting box 5, the buzzer 7 and the tune trope
8 are arranged downwards successively inside the housing. The buzzer 7 is close to
the upper end face of the tune trope 8, and the lower end face of the tune trope 8
is exposed outside the lower housing 9. The buzzer 7 is connected with circuit board
4, and makes sound through the control of the circuit board 4. The tune trope 8 amplifies
and emits the sound.
[0025] A reset spring 10 is configured between the tune trope 8 and smoke collecting box
5. When the tune trope 8 is pressed, the button column 8.1 goes through the first
through-hole 5.1 and touch with the button module of the circuit board 4 to emit the
button signal. After pressing, cause of the reset spring 10, the tune trope 8 will
reset to its original position.
[0026] Further combining with figure 2, in one of the embodiments of the present invention,
the smoke alarm further comprises light pipe 11. The smoke collecting box 5 is also
configured with a second though-hole 5.2. The light pipe 11 passes through the second
through-hole 5.2. Preferably, the first through-hole 5.1 and the second through-hole
5.2 are parallel to each other.
[0027] One end of the light pipe 11 is connected with the LED light of the circuit board
4, and another end contacts with the upper surface of the tune trope. The place of
the upper surface of tune trope 8 which contacts with the light pipe 11 is configured
with a light transmitting shell, which is made by a material that has a good transparency,
so that the light produced by LED is emitted to the light transmitting shell through
the light pipe 11, and to the outside of the light transmitting shell through the
light transmitting shell.
[0028] By using this kind of structure, there is no need to set the LED light on the exterior
of the housing through a hole, and it only needs to emit the light of the LED light
on the circuit board 4 to the surface of the tune trope 8 through light pipe 11.
[0029] As shown in figure 1, in one of the embodiments of the present invention, the place
of the upper housing 2 which holds the battery 3 is configured with a battery jar
for placing the battery 3. The outside surface of the bottom of the battery jar protrudes
from the upper surface of the upper housing 2.
[0030] Since there is also a device in the upper housing for the upper housing 2 to fasten
with the base-plate 1, the device is configured to protrude from the inside surface
of the upper housing 2, and the outside surface of the bottom of the battery jar protrudes
from the upper surface of the upper housing 2, and utilize the lateral space to hold
the battery laterally to avoid the clip device inside the upper housing 2, and to
make the structure compact and reduce the volume of the smoke alarm relevantly.

1. A smoke alarm comprising a housing, a circuit board (4), a smoke collecting box (5),
a buzzer (7) and a tune trope (8); and
the circuit board (4), the smoke collecting box (5), the buzzer (7) and the tune trope
(8) being arranged inside the housing successively;
wherein the smoke alarm also comprises a button column (8.1); the circuit board (4)
is configured with a button module; the smoke collecting box (5) is configured with
a first through-hole (5.1); the button column (8.1) is configured slidably inside
the first through-hole (5.1); one end of the button column (8.1) matches with the
button module on the circuit board (4); the another end of the button column (8.1)
is connected with the tune trope (8); the tune trope (8) is configured slidably inside
the housing; the sliding direction of the tune trope (8) is the same as the sliding
direction of the button column (8.1); the smoke alarm drives one end of the button
column (8.1) through the sliding of the tune trope (8) to touch with the button module
of the circuit board (4) to emit the button signal.
2. The smoke alarm as disclosed in Claim 1, wherein the sectional area of the smoke collecting
box (5) is equal to or smaller than the sectional area of the circuit board (4).
3. The smoke alarm as disclosed in Claim 2, wherein another end of the button column
(8.1) is fixedly connected with the tune trope (8).
4. The smoke alarm as disclosed in Claim 3, wherein a reset spring (10) is configured
between the tune trope (8) and smoke collecting box (5).
5. The smoke alarm as disclosed in Claim 1, wherein the housing comprises an upper housing
(2) and a lower housing (9) which are both cylinder shape, and an annular mesh enclosure
(6) for filtering air impurities is configured between the upper housing (2) and lower
housing (9).
6. The smoke alarm as disclosed in Claim 5, wherein the mesh enclosure (6) is welding
by laser.
7. The smoke alarm as disclosed in Claim 1, wherein the smoke alarm further comprises
a light pipe (11) for transmitting light; one end of the light pipe (11) is connected
with the LED light, and another end of the light pipe (11) communicates with the exterior
of the housing, and it transmits the light to the exterior of the housing via the
light pipe (11).
8. The smoke alarm as disclosed in Claim 7, wherein the tune trope (8) is further configured
with a light transmitting shell; the smoke collecting box (5) is also configured a
second through-hole (5.2), and the light pipe (11) is arranged inside the second through-hole
(5.2); the another end of the light pipe (11) is connected with the light transmitting
shell of the tune trope (8).
9. The smoke alarm as disclosed in Claim 1, wherein the smoke alarm further comprises
a battery (3); the battery (3) is arranged between the circuit board (4) and the housing.
10. The smoke alarm as disclosed in Claim 9, wherein the housing is also configured with
a battery jar which is coupled with the battery (3) and the battery jar protrudes
from the outside surface of the housing.
