(54) METHOD FOR COLLECTION OF CUTTINGS AND PLATE SHEARS


(57) Method for collection of cuttings from plate material from a plate shears where the plate material's front edge is inserted from an insertion side of the plate shears between an upper knife and a lower knife, which are subsequently moved past each other for cutting of the plate material along a rear edge of the cuttings. According to the invention, cuttings become received by a fixed transverse bearer provided parallel to the upper and lower knives but displaced the predetermined distance L past the upper and lower knives such that the cuttings tilt over the bearer towards the plate shears' insertion side or towards the plate shears' rear side since the cuttings tilt towards the one of the two sides, where the longest and thereby heaviest part of the cuttings is situated. The invention also relates to a plate shears with a transverse bearer and transport surfaces facing towards both the rear side and the insertion side of the plate shears.
