| (57) A drafting device includes at least three roller pairs (15, 16, 17), each roller
pair (15, 16, 17) including a bottom roller (15a, 16a, 17a) and a top roller (15b,
16b, 17b); and a fiber collecting device (80) having only one suction port (84) arranged
facing a bottom roller (15a) of a third roller pair (15) from a downstream side in
a drafting direction. When a distance between adjacent ones of the roller pairs (15,
16, 17) is a first distance, at least one of a shape and a position of the suction
port (84) is in a first state. When the distance is a second distance, at least one
of the shape and the position of the suction port (84) is in a second state. A downstream
end portion (84b) of the suction port (84) in the drafting direction is positioned
relatively on the downstream side in the drafting direction in the second state than
in the first state.
