(57) The invention relates to a sharpening device for manual sharpening of razor blades of a shaving system, wherein the shaving system comprises a handle and a releasable head comprising the razor blades, such that the razor blades lie substantially transversely of the longitudinal direction of the handle during use of the shaving system, wherein the sharpening device comprises a sharpening surface over which the head with razor blades can be moved and a holder for the sharpening surface.
