Field of the Art
[0001] The present invention relates to the housing of objects in a classified manner in
cupboards, proposing a card holder which is very easy to place and replace in the
fronts of drawers and doors in cupboards, for identifying and providing and information
about objects housed in said cupboards.
State of the Art
[0002] In many activities, such as for example pharmacies, hospitals, warehouses, etc.,
it is usual to house ordered and classified objects in cupboards provided with drawers
or with spaces which are closed with doors, wherein products or objects are housed
in a classified manner, it being necessary to provide references and information which
allow identifying from the outside the objects which are housed in each drawer or
space of said cupboards.
[0003] To that end, cards are usually used which are arranged, by means of supports referred
to as card holders, on the outside of the fronts of drawers or on the doors of the
spaces for housing the objects, said card holders normally having a fixed installation,
by means of adhesion, screwing or other fixing means.
[0004] In hospitals, for example, it is common to use mobile cupboards in which drugs and
nursing objects are arranged duly classified, said cupboards being used by different
people as appropriate due to work shifts, which requires the contents housed in the
different drawers or spaces of the cupboards to be perfectly identified, in order
to facilitate the task of the users and prevent mistakes that may have important consequences.
[0005] Furthermore, the contents which are arranged in said cupboards cannot be protocolized
in a manner related thereto, since the same types of cupboards are used in different
places, such that, depending on whether they are used in one sector or another, such
as an operating room, in a laboratory, etc., the contents which are housed in the
cupboards are different.
[0006] In addition, cupboards for hospital use require, on one hand, particular cleanliness
conditions, since besides their construction and ergonomics, they must comply with
a very strict hygiene, meaning that they must have a low tendency to store dirt and
that, in contrast, they have a high capacity for in-depth cleaning.
[0007] Currently, the most usual way to identify the contents housed in cupboards for hospital
use and others is to arrange stickers on the fronts of drawers or doors of the spaces
of the distribution of the cupboards, but the stickers define edges which accumulate
dirt, are not easy to replace and usually leave behind remains on the cupboards when
they are removed from the space of application.
Object of the Invention
[0008] According to the invention, a card holder is proposed which is intended to be incorporated
on the fronts of drawers or on doors of cupboards for housing classified products
or objects, with embodiment features of said card holder which make it advantageous
for that application.
[0009] The proposed card consists of a body in the form of a plate the front face of which
has a rim extending over the sides and at the lower part, defining opposing side grooves
between which a card can be inserted by means of introducing it through the upper
part and sliding it until it abuts with the lower edge, whereas from the upper edge
of the body there projects rearwardly a wing bending in a downward fold, which wing
defines a channeled form which allows it to be fit on the edge of a front panel of
a drawer or a door.
[0010] A card holder is thus obtained which is easy to incorporate in an application assembly
with respect to fronts of drawers or doors and which allows very easily arranging
written or printed cards with information relating to the products or objects which
are housed in the cupboards of application, the cards furthermore being very easily
replaceable in order to change the information, when necessary.
[0011] As a result of the assembly arrangement, it is also very easy to disassemble the
card holder from the fronts of drawers or doors of application, which facilitates
the hygienic cleaning of the cupboards of application, preventing accumulations of
dirt in the assembly area of the card holder, while at the same time allowing an in-depth
and complete cleaning of the card holder itself, since, because it can be disassembled
from the fronts of drawers or doors of application it can be introduced in water for
thorough cleaning by means of washing.
[0012] In the assembly arrangement on the fronts of drawers or on doors of application,
the card holder can be secured with a retention preventing the involuntary disassembly
due to blows or other accidental causes, by means of any removable fixing solution,
such as rods or wood screws.
[0013] In that sense, a particular solution is provided by means of an L-shaped groove defined
in the downward fold of the rear wing with which the assembly for fastening the card
holder is established, with a combination of said groove in relation to a projecting
rod in the rear face of the front of the drawer or door of application, such that
the assembly for fastening the card holder on the fronts of drawers or on doors of
application can be established by means of fitting and sliding, the projecting rod
of the rear face of the front of the drawer or door being inserted in the L-shaped
groove of the wing for fastening the card holder, thus resulting in a retention which
forces having to slide the card holder in the direction opposite that of the assembly,
for the disassembly removal. This solution ensures the retention of the card holder
in the application assembly, without it being necessary to remove the retention rod
to withdraw the card holder from said application assembly, which makes disassembly
easier, when it is necessary, to clean or replace the card holder.
[0014] Therefore, the proposed card holder has features which make it very advantageous
for its application, acquiring its own identity and a preferred character with respect
to conventional solutions which are used for the same function of identifying classified
contents in drawers or spaces with cupboard doors.

Detailed Description of the Invention
[0016] The object of the invention relates to a card holder intended to be incorporated
in panels (1) of fronts of drawers or doors of cupboards for housing products or objects
in a classified distribution, such as cupboards for hospital use in which drugs and
nursing objects are stored, for example, without this being limiting.
[0017] The proposed card holder consists of a body (2) in the form of a plate, the front
face of which has on the sides and at the lower part a rim (3) forming opposing side
grooves (4), between which a card (5) can be inserted by means of sliding, until resting
on the rim (3) of the lower part.
[0018] In the upper edge of the body (2) there projects rearwardly a wing (6) in the form
of a plate, having at the end part a downward fold (7), defining a channeled form.
[0019] Thus, said body (2) of the card holder can be fastened, by means of a fitted coupling
with the wing (6), on the edge of a panel (1) of the front of a drawer or door, as
observed in Figure 6, which allows arranging a written or printed card (5) containing
data or information about the products or objects which are housed inside the cupboard
to which the drawer or the door of application corresponds.
[0020] The card (5) is inserted by sliding between the side grooves (4) defined by the rim
(3) in the front of the body (2) of the card holder, it being very easy to perform
the introduction and the removal, such that the card (5) can easily be replaced when
needed to change information in the card holder.
[0021] In the assembly on the panel (1) of a front of the drawer or of a door, the card
holder is fastened by itself by means of the snap-fit established by the wing (6)
with its fold (7) in said assembly, but to prevent the involuntary disassembly due
to blows, friction or other accidental causes, the fastening can be assured with a
retention, for example by means of a fixing with rods or wood screws.
[0022] In that sense, to allow a secure retention of the card holder without having to manipulate
retention elements during assembly and disassembly, a solution is particularly provided
consisting of an L-shaped groove (8) defined in the fold (7) of the wing (6), with
a branch of said groove (8) open from the edge of the mentioned fold (7) and the other
branch parallel to the edge, as observed in Figures 2 and 5, combining said L-shaped
groove (8) with a projecting rod (9) on the rear face of the assembly panel (1) of
the card holder.
[0023] Thus, as can be seen from Figure 5, the card holder is assembled by fitting the wing
(6) on the edge of the panel (1) of application, such that the rod (9) is inserted
in the groove (8), such that once the fit is established, by laterally displacing
the body (2) of the card holder the rod (9) slides over the branch of the groove (8)
parallel to the edge of the fold (7), thus establishing a retention which prevents
directly removing the card holder disassembly, making it necessary to perform lateral
displacement of the body (2) in the direction opposite that of the assembly, to release
the retention and be able to perform the disassembly removal.
[0024] The fold (7) has a thickened reinforcement area (10) in which the L-shaped groove
(8) is defined, thus resulting in greater resistance of the part abutting with the
rod (9) in the retention of the assembly of the card holder on the panel (1) of the
front of the drawer or door of application.
1. A card holder for the fronts of drawers and doors of cupboards, to arrange cards (5)
with information relating to objects which are housed classified in drawers or cupboard
spaces, characterized in that it consists of a body (2) in the form of a plate, the front face of which has on
the sides and at the lower part a rim (3), which forms opposing side grooves (4) which
allows inserting therebetween a card (5), whereas at the upper edge there projects
rearwardly a wing (6), having a downward fold (7), defining a channeled form which
can be fit on the edge of a panel (1) of a front of a drawer or door.
2. The card holder for the fronts of drawers and doors of cupboard according to claim
1, characterized in that the fold (7) of the wing (6) has an L-shaped groove (8), with one of the branches
open from the edge of the fold (6) and the other branch parallel to said edge, defining
a guide which allows establishing a retention against the disassembly, in collaboration
with a projecting rod (9) on the rear face of the panel (1) of application.
3. The card holder for the fronts of drawers and doors of cupboard according to claims
1 and 2, characterized in that the fold (7) of the wing (6) has a thickened reinforcement area (10) in which the
L-shaped groove (8) is defined.
