TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention belongs to the field of display containers for products including
elastic means, such as elastic bands, to bring the products towards a part of the
container where they can be displayed.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Containers are known for products where said products are constantly pushed towards
an opening of the container, where the products are displayed, by elastic means, normally
an elastic band, such that when a product is removed the elastic means make the remaining
products be displayed always in the same way to the consumers, as near as possible
for extraction and/or as visually and commercially as possible.
[0003] Patent
US2801000 discloses a display container for laminar products stacked vertically and displayed
through an upper anterior opening by the traction exerted by an elastic band. The
opening in which the products are displayed is small, in accordance with the laminar
products, and a semicontainer within another semicontainer is required, resulting
in a product that is aesthetically displeasing and expensive to manufacture.
[0004] Patent
WO2014006398 discloses a display container for horizontally stacked products where, before forming
the container, on the sheet, an elastic band is attached such that the container is
formed with the products inside it and as it is formed the products are pulled by
the elastic band, such that the container is complicated to assemble and if the elastic
band fails the container must be discarded or unfolded to restore the sheet, remove
the products, change the elastic band and repeat the forming process.
[0005] The present invention solves the drawbacks of the prior art by the design of a display
case with an elastic band.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The present invention is established and characterised in the independent claims,
while the dependent claims describe additional characteristics thereof.
[0007] The invention relates to a display container with an elastic band that is easy to
form and allows using existing formats with minimal modifications. The technical problem
addressed is configuring the shape, cuts and folding lines of the container and arranging
the elastic band to obtain the aforementioned goal.
[0008] The term 'display case' refers to a container holding products which can display
said products to consumers.
[0009] An advantage resulting from the container according to claim 1 is that it is easy
to form, simply by folding a sheet and placing an elastic band on the outside, allowing
to use currently existing formats with minor changes thereby avoiding large investments
in new dies.
[0010] Another advantage resulting from claim 1 is that the products are not pulled at all
times, only when the breakable upper portion is removed, which is generally when the
products are displayed, such that they cannot be damaged if the elastic band is squashed.
[0011] Another advantage resulting from claim 1 is that the same container provides a display
case in a simple manner and can be placed directly on the shelf of a store without
having to transfer the products to a different container or install an intermediate
container between the container described herein and the shelf of the store.
[0012] Another advantage resulting from claim 2 is that, at the area where the elastic band
pulls on the products, said elastic band is level with the container and provides
aesthetic continuity with the same, resulting in a smooth design.
[0013] Another advantage resulting from claims 3 and 4 is that the conversion into a display
case is performed in a simple manner.
[0014] Another advantage resulting from claim 5 is that the container can be quite sturdy
and suitable for large and/or relatively heavy products.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0016] An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the figures.
[0017] Figures 5 and 6 show a display container (1) containing products (3) stacked horizontally
that comprises an elastic band (2) for bringing said products (3) towards the anterior
part thereof.
[0018] Said display container (1) is formed by a quadrangular cardboard sheet (1.1), figure
1, that comprises a first side (1.2) that corresponds to a first folding line, from
where a first tab (1.3) emerges, an in parallel and in sequence are arranged the second
(1.4), third (1.5) and fourth (1.6) sides, which respectively correspond to the second,
third and fourth folding lines, and parallel to the fourth side (1.6) and following
the sequence is disposed a fifth side (1.7) as the end of the sheet (1.1).
[0019] On each side of the sheet (1.1) and perpendicular to the sides (1.2,1.4,1.5,1.6,1.7)
are arranged fifth (1.12) and sixth (1.17) folding lines, which respectively correspond
to sixth and seventh sides.
[0020] From the fifth (1.12) and sixth (1.17) folding lines and towards the closest end
of the sheet (1.1), as shown in figure 1 and according to its orientation, it can
be said that to the right of the fifth folding line (1.12) and to the left of the
sixth folding line (1.17) in correspondence with the second (1.4), third (1.5) and
fourth (1.6) sides are made the corresponding first (1.22), second (1.23), third (1.24),
fourth (1.25), fifth (1.26) and sixth (1.27) notches, thereby configuring the following
faces: anterior face (1.8) between the first (1.2), second (1.4), sixth (1.12) and
seventh (1.17) sides; right side (1.9) between the second (1.4), third (1.5), sixth
(1.12) and seventh (1.17) sides; rear face(1.10) between the third (1.5), fourth (1.6),
sixth (1.12) and seventh (1.17) sides; left side (1.11) between the fourth (1.6),
fifth (1.7), sixth (1.12) and seventh (1.17) sides; in addition, the following tabs
are configured as follows: second tab (1.13) between the sixth side (1.12) and first
notch (1.22); third tab(1.14) between the sixth side (1.12), first (1.22) and second
notches (1.23); fourth tab (1.15) between the sixth side (1.12), second (1.23) and
third (1.24) notches; fifth tab (1.16) between the third notch (1.24) and the fifth
(1.7) and sixth (1.12) sides; sixth tab (1.18) between the seventh side (1.17) and
the fourth notch (1.25); seventh tab (1.19) between the seventh side (1.17), fourth
(1.25) and fifth (1.26) notches; eighth tab (1.20) between the seventh side (1.17)
and fifth (1.26) and sixth (1.27) notches; ninth tab (1.21) between the sixth notch
(1.27) and the fifth (1.7) and seventh (1.17) sides.
[0021] A breakline (1.29) is provided along the sheet (1.1) parallel to the sixth side (1.12),
in each of the first (1.2) and second (1.4) sides a guide orifice (1.28) is made for
the elastic band (2) between the sixth side (1.12) and the breakline (1.29), in each
of the third (1.5) and fourth (1.6) sides a guide orifice (1.28) is made for the elastic
band (2) at the intersection of each of said sides (1.5,1.6) with the breakline (1.29),
such that when forming the container (1) the first tab (1.3) coincides with the fifth
side (1.7) and when the breakable upper portion is separated, such that when the breakable
upper portion, dotted region in figure 1, along the breakline (1.29), figures 5 and
6, the elastic band (2) exerts a constant traction force on the products (3) towards
the anterior face (1.8) of the container (1).
[0022] One option as shown in the figures is that the breakline (1.29) consists of two parallel
segments, the first segment closer to the seventh side (1.17) and running along the
first tab (1.3), front face (1.8), one segment of the right side face (1.9) and one
segment of the left side face (1.11).
