OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention belongs to the field of packaging, more specifically that of
cardboard boxes containing elongated objects such as bottles.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Patent
EP2949588 discloses a box for bottles made from a cardboard sheet to form two spaces for corresponding
bottles. Tabs acting as lids are made from double board, as are folded portions that
hold said lids in position.
[0003] The invention of the cited patent, despite being advantageous in that a cardboard
sheet allows forming a box with two spaces for bottles, has the drawback of a complex
assembly due to the folded shapes, tabs and portions. In addition, forming a packaging
for six bottles, as is very common, would require three boxes such as that disclosed
in said patent, resulting in a relatively expensive packaging as well as complex to
form.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The present invention is established and characterised in the independent claims,
while the dependent claims describe additional characteristics thereof.
[0005] The subject matter of the invention is a box for bottles for at least three bottles,
such that duplication thereof allows holding six bottles, which is a number commonly
dispensed, that is less expensive and simpler than known boxes for bottles. The technical
problem addressed is the formation of the parts of the box allowing to attain said
objective.
[0006] The term "rectangular" is meant to describe that the form is approximately rectangular,
this is, has a rectangular outline on most of its perimeter, with the exception of
small areas.
[0007] The terms "wall" and "face" in the first and second sheet, respectively, are meant
to relate to the physical parts thereof, not to spacial locations; different terms
are used to distinguish various elements that are similar to one another.
[0008] The term "connected adjacent to" is meant to indicate that the elements referred
to are placed next to each other.
[0009] An advantage related to claim 1 is that the box for three bottles is formed in a
simple manner.
[0010] An advantage related to claim 2 is that the box as a whole is integrally joined by
the tabs, which prevent the separation of the second formed sheet.
[0011] An advantage related to claims 3 to 8 is that the combination of tabs and cut portions,
when these are placed such that the latter in their folded position retain the former,
provides a simple, secure closure of the spaces in which the bottles are placed, thereby
preventing the bottles from exiting the box.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0012] This specification is supplemented with a set of figures illustrating the preferred
embodiment, which are never intended to limit the invention.
Figure 1 is an elevation view of the first sheet.
Figure 2 is an elevation view of the second sheet.
Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the first sheet in an intermediate forming position
where each upper wall is folded down followed by the corresponding inner side wall
on the corresponding outer side walls and the first base; the lips rest on the first
base.
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of the first sheet formed and ready to receive in
its separation the second sheet formed.
Figure 5 shows a perspective view of the first sheet formed with the second sheet
formed and placed in the separation thereof.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0013] An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the figures.
[0014] Figure 1 shows a box for bottles comprising a first rectangular cardboard sheet (1)
symmetrical with respect to the transverse axis thereof, comprising a first base (1.1)
to the first (1.2) and second (1.10) greater sides of which are connected adjacently
respectively a first (1.3) and a second (1.11) outer side wall, to the third (1.4)
and fourth (1.12) greater sides of which are connected adjacently respectively a first
(1.5) and a second (1.13) upper wall, to the fifth (1.6) and seventh (1.14) greater
sides of which are connected adjacently respectively a first (1.7) and a second (1.15)
inner side wall, to the seventh (1.8) and eighth (1.16) greater sides of which are
connected adjacently respectively a first (1.9) and a second (1.17) lip, such that
when the first sheet (1) is formed, figures 4 and 5), by folding the greater sides
(1.2,1.4,1.6,1.8,1.10,1.12,1.14,1.16) each lip is supported and attached; normally
and advantageously said attachment is by gluing with known glues, the first (1.9)
and second (1.17) lips to the first base (1.1), thereby forming a first space (1.18),
figure 5, between the first base (1.1), the first outer side wall (1.3), the first
upper wall (1.5) and the first inner side wall (1.7) to house a bottle, not shown,
a second space (1.19), figures 4 and 5, between the first base (1.1), the second outer
side wall (1.11), the second upper wall (1.13) and the second inner side wall (1.15)
to house a bottle, not shown, leaving a gap (1.20) between the first inner side wall
(1.7) and the second inner side wall (1.15).
[0015] The box further comprises a second rectangular cardboard sheet (2), figure 2, which
comprises a second base (2.1) connected adjacently at a ninth greater side (2.2) to
a first side face (2.3), at the other tenth greater side (2.4) to second side face
(2.5), which is connected at the eleventh greater side (2.6) thereof to an upper face
(2.7) such that when the second sheet (2) is formed, figures 4 and 5) by folding the
greater sides (2.2, 2.4, 2.6) the free side of the first side face (2.3) is made to
coincide with the free side of the upper face (2.7) to form a third space (2.12) that
can house a bottle, not shown, the second formed sheet (2) placed in the gap (1.20)
between the first inner side wall (1.7) and the second inner side wall (1.15) of the
first sheet (1).
[0016] Figure 3 shows an intermediate position for forming the first sheet (1) where in
a first forming stage the first (1.5) and second (1.13) upper walls, followed by the
corresponding first (1.7) and second (1.15) inner side wall are folded on the corresponding
first (1.3) and second (1.11) outer side walls, and the first base (1.1); the first
(1.9) and second (1.17) lips rest on and are attached, such as by gluing, to the first
base (1.1). In this way a flat pre-assembly configuration is achieved for the first
sheet (1) as shown. To form definitively said first sheet (1) it is only necessary
to lift the first (1.5) and second (1.13) upper walls, thereby forming the first (1.18)
and second (1.19) spaces for the bottles, figure 5.
[0017] As shown in figures 1 and 3 to 5, in one option the greater side of the first upper
wall, fifth greater side (1.6), and the greater side of the second upper wall, sixth
greater side (1.14), each have at least one first (1.61) and second (1.62) tab projecting
towards the gap (1.20), such that when the second formed sheet (2) is placed in said
gap (1.20) the second base (2.1) or one of the sides thereof (2.3,2.5,2.7) will rest
on said tabs (1.61,1.62), thereby retaining the second sheet (2) to prevent separation
thereof in the direction perpendicular to the bases (1.1,2.1).
[0018] Another option shown in figures 1 and 3 to 5 is that projecting from the first (1.21)
and second (1.22) minor sides of the first base (1.1) are first (1.23), second (1.24),
third (1.25) and fourth (1.26) tabs, such that when the first sheet (1) is formed
said tabs (1.23,1.24,1.25,1.26) are folded when connecting to the first base (1.1)
into the same, thereby forming lids for the first (1.18) and second (1.19) spaces
to prevent the bottles from exiting.
[0019] Another option shown in figures 1 and 3 to 5 is that the first upper wall (1.5) shows
first (1.51) and second (1.52) slits, each one parallel to the minor side of the same
to form a first (1.53) and a second (1.54) slit portion, each slit (1.51,1.52) extended
with a third (1.71) and fourth (1.72) slit respectively in the first (1.7) inner side
wall, each one parallel to each minor side of said inner side wall (1.7) to form a
third (1.54) and fourth (1.74) slit portion such that when the first sheet (1) is
formed the first slit portion (1.53) extended in the third slit portion (1.73), and
the second slit portion (1.54) extended in the fourth slit portion (1.74), are projected
by folding into the first space (1.18), that is, form L-shaped angles or configurations.
[0020] Similarly, this option can be implemented on the other side of the first sheet (1),
shown in figures 1 and 3 to 5, where the first upper wall (1.13) has fifth (1.131)
and sixth (1.132) slits, each one parallel to the minor side of the same to form a
fifth (1.133) and a sixth (1.134) slit portion, each slit (1.131,1.132) extended with
a seventh (1.151) and eighth (1.152) slit in the second (1.15) inner side wall respectively,
each one parallel to each minor side of said inner side wall (1.15) to form a seventh
(1.153) and eighth (1.154) slit portion such that when the first sheet (1) is formed
the fifth slit portion (1.133) extended in the seventh slit portion (1.153), and the
sixth slit portion (1.134) extended in the eighth slit portion (1.154), are projected
by folding into the second space (1.19), that is, form L-shaped angles or configurations.
[0021] Similarly, the configurations cited for the first sheet (1) can be formed in the
second sheet (2) as shown in figures 2, 4 and 5, showing the option wherein from each
third (2.8) and fourth (2.9) minor side of the second base (2.1) is projected a fifth
(2.10) and sixth (2.11) tab, such that when the second sheet (2) is formed said tabs
(2.10,2.11) are folded when connecting to the second base (2.1) into the same; and
the option wherein each upper face (2.5) comprises ninth (2.51) and tenth (2.52) slits,
each one of which parallel to the minor side thereof to form a ninth (2.53) and tenth
slit portion (2.54), each slit (2.51,2.52) is extended with an eleventh (2.71) and
twelfth (2.72) slit respectively in the second (2.7) side face, each one parallel
to the minor side of said side face (2.7) to form an eleventh (2.73) and twelfth (2.74)
slit portion, such that when forming the second sheet (2) the ninth portion (2.53)
that is extended in the eleventh slit portion (2.73), and the tenth slit portion (2.54)
that is extended in the twelfth slit portion (2.74), are projected by folding into
the third space (2.12), that is, form L-shaped angles or configurations.
[0022] It is advantageous to combine some configurations with others, that is, as shown
in figures 4 and 5, the portions (1.53,1.54,1.73,1.74,1.133,1.134,1.153, 1.154,2.53,2.54,
2.73,2.74) are arranged with respect to their corresponding tabs(1.23,1.24,1.25,1.26,2.10,2.11)
such that said
portions(1.53,1.54,1.73,1.74,1.133,1.134,1.153,1.154,2.53, 2.54,2.73,2.74) are extended
by folding into the corresponding space (1.18,1.19,2.12) preventing the tabs (1.23,1.24,1.25,1.26,2.10,2.11)
from being unfolded when connected to the corresponding base (1.1,2.1), that is, act
as stops and prevent opening and the bottles from exiting.

greater sides of which are adjacently connected a first (1.5) and second (1.13) upper
wall, to the fifth (1.6) and sixth (1.14) greater sides of which are adjacently connected
a first (1.7) and second (1.15) inner side wall, characterised in that to the seventh (1.8) and eighth (1.16) greater sides of the first (1.7) and second
