Festivals are events celebrated by a community based on certain aspects of that community, for example, tradition, religion, etc. As part of the celebration of a festival, families and individuals of a community indulge in decoration, fireworks, preparation of novelties particular to the festival, etc. One such festival of celebration is Christmas. Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed most commonly on December 25 of every year as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. Typically, most homes are decorated with the Christmas tree as the center of attraction.

Traditionally, Christmas trees were adorned with apples, white candy canes, pastries in the shapes of hearts, etc. These were replaced by glass baubles and tin figures that could be hung on trees. The popularity of these decorations made production of decorative articles a trade of highly skilled artisans. Conventionally, such decorative articles were hung by a string or thread. As gifts were placed in the proximity of the Christmas tree, children amuse themselves by running around and carelessly handling decorative articles on the Christmas tree. The decorative articles could thus be plucked easily from the Christmas tree. A decorative article, which can be securely attached to the Christmas tree, is required. Furthermore, a decorative article, which is light and compact, is required.

Hence, there is a long felt but unresolved need for a decorative article, which can be securely attached to the Christmas tree. Furthermore, there is a need for a decorative article, which is light and compact.

The invention disclosed herein addresses the above-mentioned need for a decorative article, which can be securely attached to the Christmas tree. Furthermore, the invention addresses a need for a decorative article, which is light and compact. The decorative article for a Christmas tree, disclosed herein, comprises an elongate element, at least three ring elements, at least four ribbons, and at least three attachment members. The elongate element comprises a first end and a second end. The at least three ring elements are positioned proximal to the second end of the elongate element. Two of the at least three ring elements are fixedly attached to the second end of the elongate element. A remaining ring element of the at least three ring elements is fixedly attached to the two ring elements to define a central hollow portion. The ribbons are positioned on the at least three ring elements proximal to the central hollow portion. The three attachment members are positioned at ends of each of the at least three ring elements for detachably attaching the decorative article to the Christmas tree. Furthermore, the ends of each of the at least three ring elements are positioned distal to the second end of the elongate element.

The decorative article 100 for a Christmas tree disclosed herein comprises an elongate element 101, at least three ring elements 102, at least four ribbons 104, and at least three attachment members 105. The elongate element 101 comprises a first end 101a and a second end 101b. In an embodiment, the elongate element 101 and the three ring elements 102 are made of tinsel. As used herein, "tinsel" refers to a type of decorative material that mimics the effect of ice, consisting of thin strips of sparkling material. Tinsel is generally made of plastic and the sparkling material may be of, for example, a golden color, a silver color, glow-in-the-dark colors, etc. The three ring elements 102 are positioned proximal to the second end 101 b of the elongate element 101. Two of the at least three ring elements 102 are fixedly attached to the second end 101b of the elongate element 101. A remaining ring element 102 of the at least three ring elements 102 is fixedly attached to the two of the at least two ring elements 102 to define a central hollow portion 103.

The ribbons 104 are positioned on the ring elements 102 proximal to the central hollow portion 103. In an embodiment, the at least four ribbons 104 are made of, for example, a fabric material, a plastic material, etc., and are of a red color. The ribbons 104 may also be of other colors, for example, blue, green, etc. The attachment members 105 are positioned at ends 102a of each of the three ring elements 102 for detachably attaching the decorative article 100 to the Christmas tree. In an embodiment, the Christmas tree is, for example, a natural Christmas tree, an artificial Christmas tree, etc. The ends 102a of each of the ring elements 102 are positioned distal to the second end 101b of the elongate element 101 as exemplarily illustrated in FIG. 1.
