An apparatus and method for adjusting a bus clock frequency are disclosed. The method comprises determining whether a bus is used by a master module (603). If the bus is used by the master module, the bus clock frequency is adjusted from a first value to a second value (611). If the bus is not used by the master module, the bus clock frequency is adjusted from the second value to the first value (607). The second value is greater than the first value.
The application introduces subject-matter which extends beyond the content of the parent application as filed, contrary to Article 76(1) EPC.
A lack of unity (2 inventions) was raised against the parent application. The current set of claims relate to the second invention identified in the parent application. Said invention is covered by [0065]-[0128] and fig.5-9 of the parent application as filed.
The subject-matter of claims 2 and 9, in particular the " adjusting of the bus clock frequency [...] activity information [...] " was consistently disclosed in the parent application with respect to the first invention and never in the context of the second invention currently claimed in the claims as originally filed in the present application.
Therefore, claims 2 and 9 extend beyond the parent application as originally files and no meaningful search can be performed on said claims, see Guidelines B-VII,3(iv) and B-VIII,6.
