[0001] The present invention relates to a machine for edgebanding panels of wood or the
like as per the preamble of claim 1. Such a machine is disclosed by document
FR 87106 E.
[0002] In particular, the present invention relates to a machine for edgebanding panels
of wood or the like of the type comprising an edgebanding assembly; and a feeding
device defining a support surface for the panels.
[0003] The panels are fed in succession by the feeding device through the edgebanding assembly
to allow the edgebanding assembly to apply a finishing edge along at least part of
a lateral profile of each panel.
[0004] The edgebanding assembly comprises a glueing device for applying glue onto the lateral
profile of the panel and/or onto the finishing edge, and a pressing device for stabilizing
the finishing edge on the panel.
[0005] The glueing device comprises a tank for containing the glue, and a glueing roller,
which is fitted so as to rotate around a rotation axis, extends inside the tank to
take the glue, and protrudes out of the tank to apply the glue onto the lateral profile
of the panel and/or onto the finishing edge.
[0006] The known machines for edgebanding panels of wood or the like of the type described
above have some drawbacks mainly arising from the fact that the replacement of the
glue with a glue of a different colour or having different chemical-physical characteristics
requires emptying, cleaning, and refilling the tank, and therefore entails relatively
high maintenance costs and relatively long setup times.
[0007] The object of the present invention is to provide a machine for edgebanding panels
of wood or the like, which is free from the drawbacks described above and simple and
inexpensive to implement.
[0008] According to the present invention, a machine for edgebanding panels of wood or the
like is provided as claimed in the appended claims.
[0009] The present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings,
which illustrate a non-limiting embodiment thereof, in which:
Figure 1 is a schematic plan view, with parts removed for clarity, of a preferred
embodiment of the machine for machining components of wood or the like not according
to the present invention;
Figure 2 is a schematic plan view, with parts removed for clarity, of a first variant
not according to the invention; and
Figure 3 is a schematic plan view, with parts removed for clarity, of the machine
according to the invention.
[0010] With reference to Figure 1, number 1 indicates, as a whole, a machine for edgebanding
panels 2 of wood or the like.
[0011] Each panel 2 has two main faces 3 parallel and opposite to each other, and is bounded
by a lateral profile 4, which extends between the two faces 3, and comprises, in this
case, two minor lateral faces 5 parallel to each other and perpendicular to a horizontal
direction 6 and two minor lateral faces 7 parallel to each other and perpendicular
to a horizontal direction 8, which is transverse to direction 6.
[0012] The machine 1 comprises a feeding device 9 of a known type, which defines a substantially
horizontal support surface P for the panels 2, and is configured for feeding the panels
2 successively in direction 6.
[0013] The machine 1 also comprises an edgebanding assembly 10 configured to apply a finishing
edge 11 onto the lateral profile 4 of the panel 2.
[0014] The assembly 10 comprises a glueing roller 12, which is fitted so as to rotate around
a vertical rotation axis 13 and is adapted to apply glue onto the lateral profile
4, in particular onto one of the faces 7; and a train of pressing rollers 14, which
are fitted so as to rotate around respective rotation axes 15, which are parallel
to each other and to the axis 13, and are adapted to stabilize the edge 11 on the
panel 2.
[0015] The roller 12 is fed around axis 13 through a glueing station 16, at which the roller
12 transfers the glue onto the panel 2, and a feeding station 17, at which the glue
is fed onto the roller 12 by a feeding unit 18.
[0016] In this case, the unit 18 comprises a tank 19 for containing the glue and a spray
dispenser 20 (for example a spray gun) for transferring the glue from the tank 19
to the roller 12.
[0017] In other words, the roller 12 is completely fitted on the outside of the tank 19
so as to allow the feeding unit 18 to be rapidly replaced, while keeping the roller
12 fixed.
[0018] The roller 12 further cooperates with a cleaning device 21, preferably, but not necessarily,
a heated doctor blade, which is fitted between station 16 and station 17 downstream
of station 16 in a moving direction 22 of the roller 12 around the axis 13.
[0019] The device 21 removes the glue remaining on the roller 12 downstream of station 16
in direction 22 so as to feed the clean roller 12 through station 17.
[0020] The variant shown in Figure 2 differs from what shown in Figure 1 solely in that
the feeding unit 18 therein is removed and replaced with a feeding unit 23 comprising
a tank 24 for containing the glue and a transfer roller 25, which is fitted so as
to rotate around a rotation axis 26 parallel to axis 13, extends inside the tank 24
to take the glue, and protrudes out of the tank 24 to apply the glue onto the roller
12.
[0021] The variant shown in Figure 3 differs from what shown in Figure 1 solely in that
the edgebanding assembly 10 therein comprises a plurality of feeding units 18, which
are distributed around axis 13 and are associated with respective types of glue, which
are different from each other in colour and/or chemical-physical characteristics.
[0022] The units 18 are connected to an electronic control unit 27 configured for selectively
controlling the operation of the units 18, for example by moving each unit 18 between
an operating position, in which the unit 18 feeds the glue to the roller 12, and a
rest position.
[0023] According to a variant, not shown, the feeding unit 18 is removed and replaced with
at least one feeding unit comprising a tank for containing the glue and a spreading
dispenser for transferring the glue from the tank to the roller 12.
[0024] According to a further variant, not shown, the glueing roller 12 is arranged so as
to apply the glue onto the finishing edge 11.
1. A machine for edgebanding wood panels (2) or the like, each comprising two main faces
(3), which are parallel and opposite to one another, and a lateral profile (4) extending
between the main faces (3), the machine comprising a support surface (P) for at least
one panel (2); an edgebanding assembly (10); and an actuator device (9) to move the
panel (2) and the edgebanding assembly (10) relative to one another in at least one
direction (6), which is parallel to the support surface (P), and to allow the edgebanding
assembly (10) to apply a finishing edge (11) along at least part of the lateral profile
(4) of the panel (2); the edgebanding assembly (10) comprising a glueing roller (12)
to apply glue onto the lateral profile (4) and/or onto the finishing edge (11), a
tank (19; 24) to contain the glue, at least one pressing device (14) to stabilize
the finishing edge (11) on the lateral profile (4), and a feeding device (20; 25)
to transfer the glue from the tank (19; 24) to the glueing roller (12); the glueing
roller (12) being completely fitted on the outside of the tank (19; 24); and being
characterized in that the edgebanding assembly (10) further comprises a plurality of feeding devices (20;
25), which are distributed around a rotation axis (13) of the glueing roller (12)
and, for each feeding device (20; 25), a respective tank (19; 24) to contain a given
type of glue .
2. The machine according to claim 1, wherein the feeding device (25) comprises a transfer
roller, which is interposed between the tank (24) and the glueing roller (12) .
3. The machine according to claim 1, wherein the feeding device (20) comprises a spray
dispenser, which is interposed between the tank (19) and the glueing roller (12) .
4. The machine according to claim 1, wherein the feeding device (20; 25) comprises a
spreading dispenser to transfer the glue from the tank (19; 24) to the glueing roller
(12).
5. The machine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the edgebanding assembly
(10) comprises, furthermore, a cleaning device (21) to clean the glueing roller (12).
6. The machine according to claim 5, wherein the glueing roller (12) is fitted so as
to rotate around a rotation axis (13) through a glueing station (16), where the glueing
roller (12) releases the glue onto the lateral profile (4) and/or onto the finishing
edge (11), and through a feeding station (17), where the glueing roller (12) receives
the glue from the feeding devices (20; 25); the cleaning device (21) being fitted
between the glueing station (16) and the feeding station (17) downstream of the glueing
station (16) in a moving direction (22) of the glueing roller (12) around the rotation
axis (13).
7. The machine according to claim 5 or 6, wherein the cleaning device (21) comprises
a heated doctor blade to remove the excess glue from the glueing roller (12).
8. The machine according to any of the preceding claims and comprising, furthermore,
an electronic control unit (27) to selectively control the operation of the feeding
devices (20; 25).
9. The machine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein each feeding device
(20; 25) is movable between an operating position, in which the feeding device (20;
25) feeds the glue to the glueing roller (12), and a rest position.

(P) ist, und um es der Einrichtung zur Kantenumleimung (10) zu ermöglichen eine Abschlusskante
(11) entlang wenigstens eines Teils des Querprofils (4) der Platte (2) aufzubringen;
und
wobei die Einrichtung zur Kantenumleimung (10) umfasst:
Eine Beleimungswalze (12) zum Aufbringen von Leim auf dem Querprofil (4) und/oder
der Abschlusskante (11), einen Tank (19, 24) zur Aufnahme des Leims, wenigstens eine
Presseinrichtung (14) zur Stabilisierung der Abschlusskante (11) auf dem Querprofil
(4), und eine Zuführeinrichtung (20, 25) zum Transport des Leims aus dem Tank (19,
24) zur Beleimungswalze (12);
die Beleimungswalze (12) vollständig an der Außenseite des Tanks (19, 24) angebracht
ist; und
dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass
die Einrichtung zur Kantenumleimung (10) außerdem umfasst:
eine Vielzahl von Zuführeinrichtungen (20, 25), die um eine Rotationsachse (13) der
Beleimungswalze (12) verteilt sind, und
für jede Zuführeinrichtung (20, 25) ein entsprechender Tank (19, 24) zum Beinhalten
einer bestimmten Leimart.
2. Vorrichtung gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei
die Zuführeinrichtung (25) eine Übertragungswalze umfasst, die zwischen dem Tank (24)
und der Beleimungswalze (12) angeordnet ist.
3. Vorrichtung gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei
die Zuführeinrichtung (20) einen Sprühspender umfasst, der zwischen dem Tank (19)
und der Beleimungswalze (12) angeordnet ist.
4. Vorrichtung gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei
die Zuführeinrichtung (20, 25) einen Streuspender zum Transport des Leims aus dem
Tank (19, 24) zur Beleimungswalze (12) umfasst.
5. Vorrichtung gemäß einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei
die Einrichtung zur Kantenumleimung (10) zusätzlich umfasst: eine Reinigungseinheit
(21) zur Reinigung der Beleimungswalze (12).
6. Vorrichtung gemäß Anspruch 5, wobei
die Beleimungswalze (12) so angebracht ist, dass sie um eine Rotationsachse (13) rotiert
und dabei eine Klebstation (16) passiert, bei der die Beleimungswalze (12) den Leim
auf das Querprofil (4) und/oder auf die Abschlusskante (11) abgibt, und eine Zuführstation
(17) passiert, bei der die Beleimungswalze (12) den Leim von der Zuführeinrichtung
(20, 25) aufnimmt;
die Reinigungseinheit (21) in einer Bewegungsrichtung (22) der Beleimungswalze (12)
um die Rotationsachse (13) nach der Klebstation (16) zwischen der Klebstation (16)
und der Zuführstation (17) angeordnet ist.
7. Vorrichtung gemäß Anspruch 5 oder 6, wobei
die Reinigungseinheit (21) ein beheiztes Rakelmesser zum Entfernen überschüssigen
Leims von der Beleimungswalze (12) umfasst.
8. Vorrichtung gemäß einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei die Vorrichtung außerdem
umfasst:
eine elektronische Steuerungseinheit (27) zur selektiven Steuerung des Betriebs der
Zuführeinrichtung (20, 25).
9. Vorrichtung gemäß einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, wobei jede der Zuführeinrichtungen
(20, 25) zwischen einer Betriebsstellung, in der die Zuführeinrichtung (20, 25) der
Beleimungswalze (12) Leim zuführt, und einer Ruhestellung bewegt werden kann.

latéral (4), et un dispositif d'alimentation (20 ; 25) pour transférer la colle du
réservoir (19 ; 24) au rouleau de collage (12) ; le rouleau de collage (12) étant
complètement adapté sur l'extérieur du réservoir (19 ; 24) ; et étant caractérisée en ce que l'ensemble de placage de chant (10) comprend en outre une pluralité de dispositifs
d'alimentation (20; 25), qui sont répartis autour d'un axe de rotation (13) du rouleau
de collage (12) et, pour chaque dispositif d'alimentation (20 ; 25), un réservoir
(19 ; 24) respectif pour contenir un type donné de colle.
2. Machine selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle le dispositif d'alimentation (25)
comprend un rouleau de transfert, qui est interposé entre le réservoir (24) et le
rouleau de collage (12).
3. Machine selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle le dispositif d'alimentation (20)
comprend un distributeur par pulvérisation, qui est interposé entre le réservoir (19)
et le rouleau de collage (12).
4. Machine selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle le dispositif d'alimentation (20 ;
25) comprend un distributeur parétalement pour transférer la colle du réservoir (19
; 24) au rouleau de collage (12).
5. Machine selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans laquelle l'ensemble
de placage de chant (10) comprend, en outre, un dispositif de nettoyage (21) pour
nettoyer le rouleau de collage (12).
6. Machine selon la revendication 5, dans laquelle le rouleau de collage (12) est adapté
de façon à tourner autour d'un axe de rotation (13) à travers un poste de collage
(16), où le rouleau de collage (12) libère la colle sur le profil latéral (4) et/ou
sur le chant de finition (11), et à travers un poste d'alimentation (17), où le rouleau
de collage (12) reçoit la colle depuis les dispositifs d'alimentation (20 ; 25) ;
le dispositif de nettoyage (21) étant adapté entre le poste de collage (16) et le
poste d'alimentation (17) en aval du poste de collage (16) dans une direction de déplacement
(22) du rouleau de collage (12) autour de l'axe de rotation (13).
7. Machine selon la revendication 5 ou 6, dans laquelle le dispositif de nettoyage (21)
comprend une racle chauffée pour retirer l'excès de colle du rouleau de collage (12).
8. Machine selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes et comprenant, en outre,
une unité de commande électronique (27) pour commander sélectivement le fonctionnement
des dispositifs d'alimentation (20 ; 25).
9. Machine selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans laquelle chaque
dispositif d'alimentation (20 ; 25) est mobile entre une position fonctionnelle, dans
laquelle le dispositif d'alimentation (20 ; 25) alimente en colle le rouleau de collage
(12), et une position de repos.
