(54) WINDING CONFIGURATION OF AN ELECTRIC MOTOR


(57) A stator (22) assembly for a permanent magnet motor (10) is disclosed. The assembly comprises a yoke (56) comprising a plurality of teeth in connection therewith and extending into an opening formed by the yoke (56). The plurality of teeth comprises a first tooth (46a) and a second tooth (46b). The first tooth (46a) is arranged adjacent to the second tooth (46b) about a rotational axis of the motor (10). The assembly further comprises a first coil (52) and a second coil (54). The first coil (52) comprises a first conductive winding having a first number N1 of turns disposed around the first tooth (46a), and the second coil (54) comprises a second conductive winding having a second number of turns N2 disposed around the second tooth (46b). The first number of turns is different from the second number of turns.
