Description

[0001] The object of the invention is a multifunctional safety retro-reflector, which ensures greater safety of persons and objects, preferably vehicles which, for any reason, are located on surfaces intended for traffic, preferably on or along the road, and to ensure that the vehicle and / or person of any weather conditions is well visible, with the term "vehicle" referring to any means of transport intended for the carriage of goods or persons. The multi-purpose safety retro- reflector consists of at least two parts, the first part being shaped like a garment, for example, as a waistcoat, a vest or a poncho which the person is pushing over the upper part of the body to cover the chest and back part of the upper body of the person, the second part is formed as a banner, wherein the banner with one of its edges can be removable in the known ways on the edge of the respective garment. In this way, the banner can be easily and quickly removed from the edge of the garment and attached to the corresponding surface of the selected object, preferably on the surface of the vehicle.

[0002] A defective vehicle or vehicle involved in a traffic accident or a vehicle, for whatever reason, is located on areas that are primarily intended for traffic, must be clearly marked and clearly visible in all weather conditions both during the day and at night. It is also desirable that persons, who, for various reasons, find themselves on areas that are primarily intended for traffic, are clearly visible especially at night. The multi-purpose security reflector according to the invention combines both functions. The design of the retro-reflector enables quick and easy installation on the person and the appropriate surface, and the choice of special materials from which the retro-reflector is made, however, provides excellent visibility especially in worse weather conditions and at night. The use of the retro-reflector according to the invention provides for internal and external traffic safety.

[0003] From the prior art several types of safety retro-reflectors are used, which are used either for vehicles or for persons only. There are reflective vestibules for marking persons that have ribbons of reflection material on the chest and back that are sewn on the vest. There are also retro-reflective straps that are attached either to the arm or to the foot of a person. There are also protective suits that have reflective ribbons already sewn on the appropriate places on the dress. The failure of these solutions is that security retro-reflectors are intended only for persons.

[0004] For marking vehicles, there are marking boards fitted to vehicles, which include strips of different shapes that reflect light. Labeling boards are usually made of different metal or plastic materials, are impregnable and cannot be folded down properly. There are also security triangles made of material that reflect light and placed on a road surface at a certain distance from the vehicle. U.S. Pat. 5398437 is a safety retro-reflector mounted on the rear of the vehicle with magnets. The failure of these solutions is that safety retro-reflectors are intended only for attachment to vehicles or obstacles on the road surface.

[0005] There are also retro-reflective labels of various shapes that can be used both to mark the vehicle and the persons by placing them in appropriate places, for example on vehicles or on clothing of a person.
The disadvantage is that the labels are only suitable for single use. When re-used, new labels must be installed.

[0006] Safety retro-reflectors from the state of the art can be made of various materials that reflect light when illuminated, but they can also include light means, for example, LEDs.

[0007] From the state of the art, there are no known security retro-reflectors consisting of at least two parts, combining both functions and intended for repeated use, that is, they can be used at the same time as a garment which a person puts over the upper part of the body, the part or the lower edge of the safety retro-reflector is released and forms a warning banner to be fastened to the corresponding places on the surfaces, preferably on the surface of the vehicle. After use, the banner is re-fastened to the garment; the multi-purpose safety reflector is folded into convenient packaging for later use.
The security retro-reflector according to the invention will be described below and presented in the figures showing:

Figure 1 shows a preferred embodiment of the safety retro-reflector according to the invention in the assembled form

Figure 2 shows a preferred embodiment of the safety retro-reflector according to the invention in the disassembled form

Figure 3 shows the use of a safety retro-reflector on the vehicle

Figure 4 shows the use of a safety retro-reflector on a person

[0008] The safety retro-reflector according to the invention is made of at least two parts which are interchangeably interconnected. The first part of the retro-reflector is shaped like garment 1, 2; the second part is formed as at least one banner 3, 4 which, with its fixing means 5, is removable attached to one of its edges at least in part of its length on the edge of the garment 1, 2. Fastening means 5 is made of two parts, the first part being carried out at the edge of the garment 1, 2, the second part being carried out on the upper edge 3a, 4a of the banner 3, 4. The two parts are made in known ways so as to cooperate with each other and enable a quick and easy removable connection between them. The first part and the second part of the fastening means 5 may be formed as a velcro fastener, they can be made with presses, they may be made as a magnetic coupling, the fastening means 5 of the fastener may be. The garment 1, 2 has at least one clamping element 6, 7. The clamping member 6, 7 is made of two parts, the two portions being made known ways to cooperate
with one another and to provide a removable link between them. Both parts of the clamping element 6, 7 may thus be in the form of a tape, they may be made of a velcro fastener, can be made in the form of a hook and loop, can be made in the manner of a presser, they can be made as a magnetic coupling, the clamping element 6, 7 zippers. The fastening means 5 and the fastening elements 6, 7 are in a known manner attached either to the garment 1, 2 or to the upper edge 3a, 4a of the banners 3, 4, for example by gluing, adhesive tape or by sewing.

[0009] On its outer surface 1c, 2c, 3c and 4c, that is, on the surface, which is applied away from the body of the person and the surface of the building, preferably the surface of the vehicle, the garment 1, 2 and the banner 3, 4 are at least part of their external surface 1c, 2c, 3c, and 4c, a reflective element 8 is made. The retro-reflecting element 8 is made of known reflective materials that meet the prescribed standards for retroreflective materials and may be of any shape, for example, it can be in the form of a strip of arbitrary widths that form interrupted or continuous lines, zigzag lines, can be in the form of different geometric characters. The characteristic of the reflective or retroreflective material is to reflect the light directly back into the light source at a wide range of angles at illumination. The reflecting element 8 is in a known manner attached to the respective outer surface 1c, 2c, 3c, and 4, for example by gluing, sewing, adhesive tape, with a velcro system, and can form on the outer surface 1c, 2c, 3c, and 4c different patterns. The retro-reflecting element 8 can be executed with various known printing techniques on the outer surface 1c, 2c, 3c and 4c. In the preferred embodiment, the retro-reflective element 8 is formed as a strip of reflective material of 50 mm width which is sewn on each surface.

[0010] On its inner surface, i.e. on the surface which, when applied, faces the surface of the object, preferably to the surface of the vehicle, the belt 3, 4 has at least one of its edges an attachment means 9 for each selected surface. The attachment means 9 can be made to different known ways, for example, they can be in the form of elastic strips, hooks, permanent magnets, or suction cups.

[0011] The fastening means 9 are in a known manner attached to the inner surface of the banner 3, 4 in its edge, for example by gluing, with adhesive tape, with a velcro system, they can be embedded in its various ways in various known ways. In one embodiment, the fastening means 9 are permanent flat magnets, which enable the removable attachment of the banner 3, 4 to the metal parts of the vehicle. In another of the embodiments, the fastening means 9 are adjoining caps which allow the removable attachment of the banner 3, 4 to the non-metallic parts of the vehicle, for example, aluminum, plastic or glass. In the preferred embodiment, the pockets 10, which are sewn on the inner surface of the banner 3, 4, are inserted on the inner surface of the banner 3, 4 and into which the flat permanent magnets are inserted or the caps are inserted.

[0012] In one of the embodiments, the banner 3, 4 may at least have a loop through at least a portion of the edges of the two long sides, through which a rope or elastic strip may be provided for the additional attachment of the banner 3, 4 to the corresponding surface of the object.

[0013] In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the garment 1 is a waistband, the lower part is formed as a single banner 3, the length of the banner 3 being equal to the length of the waist edge. The term single band 3 refers to the embodiment when the banner 3 is derived from a single rectangular piece, wherein the banner 3 with its upper edge 3a is detachably attached to the edge of the waistband with the fastening means 5. The clamping member 6 is sewn on the front a vestibule and is executed as a big hedgehog. Banner 3 has a pocket 10 in the lower edge where the permanent magnets 9 are inserted.

[0014] In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the garment 2 is a poncho. The garment 2 is made of a central part made up of the front sides 2a and the back side 2b, at least on one of the sides 2a,
2b is removable attached to the banner 4, the length of the banner 4 being dimensionally corresponding to the width of the side 2a, 2b. In the preferred embodiment, the front 2a and the rear side 2b are detachably attached to the banner 4 with the fixing means 5. The central part has essentially an elongated opening 11 in the middle through which the person inserts the head so that the front sides 2a cover the breast, the back side 2b and the back part of the upper body of the person. The longitudinal opening 11 can be made in the longitudinal or transversal direction of the garment 2, preferably in the middle, the size of the aperture 11, that is its length, must be such that the person can easily insert the head through the opening 11. The clamping member 7 is a velcro fastener and is sewn on the front 2a and rear side 2b at their edges. Optionally, the fastening elements 7 can also be made at the outer edges of the banners 4. The bands 4 have a pocket 10 in which the permanent magnets 9 are inserted in the bottom edge.

[0015] Safety retro-reflector is made of light, flexible and shock-resistant natural or artificial materials that are resistant to weathering. Such materials are, for example, woven or non-woven textile fabrics made of natural or synthetic fibers, for example polyesters such as nylon, being waterproof, lightweight and easy to mold.

[0016] Woven or non-woven textile materials can be made in the form of dense or mesh fabrics. It is desirable that the materials are highly fluorescence, as this enables better visibility of the banner in bad weather conditions and at night. High fluorescence materials are all materials that meet the required standards of countries, for example in Europe EN ISO 20471: 2013 and US ANSI standards 107 & 207.

[0017] The security retro-reflector can be entirely made of the same material, but it can consist of various materials, with the word different materials including various versions of textile materials, where the raw material is the same and the manufacture is different, for example, the combination of the guest and mesh fabrics.

[0018] In a preferred embodiment, the security retro-reflector is made of 100% fluorescent yellow or orange color polyester that meets the above-mentioned international standards. In one embodiment, the security reflector may be made entirely of reflective material.

[0019] The multi-purpose safety retro-reflector according to the invention combines two functions; it can be simultaneously used on a person and on an appropriate object, which we want to mark separately for other traffic participants, preferably on the vehicle.
When the security retro-reflector according to the invention is used, the person first wears the bezel and closes it, or a poncho connects over the head and closes it. Then, if necessary, a person from the edge of the waist band or a ponytail raises the banner and affixes it with the attachment means to the corresponding surfaces of the vehicle or to the corresponding surfaces of the object so that the surface of the banner with the surface on which the reflective elements are made is facing away from the surface to which it is attached.

[0020] The use of a safety retro-reflector according to the invention ensures the safety of the vehicle or person in the event of a car accident or vehicle failure, prevents possible vehicle accidents, provides a good visibility of the vehicle and the person in all weather conditions both during the day and at night, provides good visibility of the surfaces of the objects to which it is attached, and easy installation, makes it possible to use on any vehicle or person, it is made of durable material and is suitable for reusable use.

[0021] Since the safety buffer is made of lightweight, flexible and squeaky materials, it can be assembled, folded and put into practical packaging, which takes up little space after use.
