DESCRIPTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a rolling shutter device.
[0002] In particular, the present invention is advantageously used for the optimal and effective
movement of unwinding / winding of rolling shutters or rolling shutters for the closing
/ opening of windows, French windows and the like of houses or buildings in general,
to which the following description will make explicit reference without losing this
in general.
[0003] In the field of building constructions, the use of roller shutters or rolling shutters
adapted to close the open compartments formed on the walls and defining the windows
and / or the French windows of the buildings is universally known.
[0004] In general, a roller shutter is normally fixed and collected wound around a tubular
element or rotating drum mounted inside a box container, which is arranged and embedded
in the wall, or part of the wall itself, in correspondence of a upper part of the
window of a building and is provided with a lower slit through which a free end of
this shutter is able to escape to be carried out by sliding downwards or upwards in
order to close or open the space defining the window itself.
[0005] The movement of the shutter takes place through the manual operation of a drive belt
connected to the drum on which the roller shutter is wound, or by the actuation of
an unwinding / winding gearmotor mounted directly inside the said drum, or arranged
externally.
[0006] Currently such known devices have some structural and functional disadvantages.
[0007] Indeed, in the case of windows or French windows of large dimensions and extensions
to allow the rooms inside the building to present an adequate brightness, it is necessary
to use containers with a large overall dimensions in order to enclose the shutter
when completely wound. , with the consequence of unsightly volumes and large portions
of the wall, in particular facing inside the building or home, which must necessarily
be provided for and used for the installation of the box itself.
[0008] The object of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art
described above.
[0009] Another object of the present invention is that of obtaining an optimal and advantageous
degree of brightness to the internal rooms of the building or dwelling.
[0010] Further characteristics of the invention and the advantages deriving therefrom will
appear better evident from the claims below and from the following description made
with reference to the figures of the attached drawings, which show a preferred but
not limitative embodiment of the device in question, in which:
- Figure 1 represents the rolling shutter device in question in a schematic front view;
is
- Figure 2 shows a side view in vertical section and with parts removed for clarity
of the device of Figure 1.
[0011] With reference to the accompanying figures 1 and 2, D indicates globally a rolling
shutter device T able to close the compartments formed on the walls and defining windows
and / or windows for buildings or houses.
[0012] The device D comprises a box container C, within which the rolling shutter T is substantially
arranged and which is provided with a bottom wall P provided with an open slot F through
which a free end Ti of shutter T is able to slide to escape out of the box C.
[0013] A pair 1 of rotary drums 2 and 3, each of the same or different shape, with spaced
apart axes parallel to each other around which the roller shutter T is, in use, substantially
wrapped and collected defining a path 4 of winding / unwinding with an elongated conformation.
[0014] The drum 2 has, preferably but not limited to, a diameter greater than the diameter
of the drum 3.
[0015] The two drums 2 and 3 are connected to each other by means of a pair 5 of transmission
/ entrainment belts 6 and 7 spaced from each other, with the drum 2 rotated, alternatively,
clockwise or counterclockwise, by manual action or under the thrust of a geared motor
(known and not shown) mounted, preferably but not limitedly, inside said drum 2, or
by means of a traditional manual drive belt system applied to the drum 2, whereas
the drum 3 is mounted in a idly way.
[0016] The shutter T is fixed, at an end Tf opposite the aforementioned free end Ti, to
the belts 6 and 7 by means of suitable fixing means of various nature and material
and generally indicated by M in Figure 2.
[0017] The aforementioned transmission belts 6 and 7 can be of various types and materials,
such as smooth or toothed belts, or smooth or toothed belts, or replaced by chain
means or equivalent systems.
[0018] In order to allow the correct winding / unwinding of the shutter T, the transmission
belts 6 and 7 can also be mounted on the drums 2 and 3.
[0019] On the same drums 2 and 3, preferably near their opposite side ends, at least one
pair 8 of compensation rings 9 and 10 made of rubber, sponge or other elastic material
is provided, arranged between them suitably spaced, to the precise and sole purpose
of guaranteeing the optimal and effective winding / unwinding the shutter T on the
aforementioned drums 2 and 3 during its movement during opening / closing of the window
or French window.
[0020] Similarly, also on the aforementioned belts 6 and 7 compensating means can be mounted
made of rubber, sponge or other resilient or yielding equivalent material. According
to a preferred embodiment, not illustrated, such rings 9 and 10 are each mounted on
a hollow tubular element, which in turn is free to rotate idly on the drum 2,3.
[0021] According to a further preferred embodiment also not shown, on the opposite ends
of the components (slats) forming the shutter T are advantageously applied small appendages
(plugs) protruding from the ends themselves and adapted to facilitate the support
and the sliding of the aforementioned components of the shutter T.
[0022] As illustrated in Figure 2, the two drums 2 and 3 of the pair 1 are aligned on a
vertical plane, with the drum 2 placed above the drum 3, the latter placed near the
and above the slit F: in such a way the device D thus obtained is advantageously used
in the case, for example, of buildings with high walls and mainly low thickness, so
as to have the box C occupying a reduced overall size.
[0023] According to an alternative arrangement not shown, the pair 1 is aligned on a horizontal
plane, with the drum 2 arranged adjacent to the drum 3, the latter placed near the
and substantially above the slot. F: in this way, the device D thus obtained is advantageously
used in the case of buildings with low walls and with a large thickness, so as to
have also in this case the container C occupying a reduced size and able to make more
space available to the brightness of the environment.
[0024] According to a variant not shown, the container C is mounted slidingly on guide means
to be extracted (in mode raisable as "drawer") thus allowing quick and easy maintenance
operations / possible replacement of the components of the device D.
[0025] Thanks to the presence of the pair 1 of drums 2 and 3, in use the device D described
above thus ensures an effective and optimal movement of closing / opening of shutter
T through the slot F, unwinding / winding with an elongated ring around the same drums
2 and 3.
