(54) PRODUCTION METHOD FOR TRANS-BIS(2-HYDROXYALKYL) CYCLOHEXANEDICARBOXYLATE, AND BIS(2-HYDROXYALKYL) CYCLOHEXANEDICARBOXYLATE


(57) [Problem] To provide a process for producting trans-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid bis (2-hydroxyalkyl) (trans-BHAC) that makes it possible to obtain trans-BHAC simply and in high yields.
[Solution] The main feature of this trans-BHAC production process is that trans-BHAC is obtained by isomerizing cis-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid bis (2-hydroxyalkyl) (cis-BHAC) through contact with a basic oxide. The isomerization is preferably performed at temperatures of 160 °C-300 °C. The weight ratio of the cis-BHAC and the basic oxide is preferably 100:0.1-100:10.
