Purpose of the invention
[0001] The purpose of the present invention is to present a self-adhesive profile for the
assembly of building blocks manufactured in glass, which has a special application
in the construction sector.
[0002] It is therefore a construction element. It can be made in plastic, metal or other
rigid materials.
Background of the invention
[0003] At present the application is known of architectural solutions which envisage raising
partitions, walls, or panels based on stacking glass blocks. This allows compartments
of commercial or industrial dwellings or premises with separating elements which allow
the passage of natural or artificial light.
[0004] Currently, these building blocks manufactured in glass are installed in a manner
aligned according to their size and height, by depositing cement between the various
blocks, in addition to some spacers between these blocks.
[0005] Another alternative assembly technique used consists of the use of profiles on which
silicone is deposited, which are placed between the different rows of blocks, and
subsequently the outer joints are finished with silicone products or joint mortar.
[0006] Thus, the use of malleable silicones is highlighted and widespread, whether in the
US patent document
US5485702 SHOLTON BERNARD (1996), or marketed by the GLASSBLOCK TECHNOLOGY (2016) or LEROY MERLIN (2016) companies,
in the interstices of the blocks, but with operational and functional nature, they
are malleable fluids which require drying times to settle and consolidate, and are
less resistant, besides requiring a subsequent cleaning process of leftover remains
in view of the proposed solution. In addition, the proposed solution consists of a
double nature: one, functional as a sealant; and another, aesthetic as a pattern or
flashing with any type of colour or combinations of colours at the user's choice.
[0007] Technically, in view of the use of malleable silicones, waiting times for heights
with considerable stacking are not required due to the solidity of the fixation, facilitating
in this way their direct and complete installation at the same time by the operators.
In addition to not requiring a subsequent cleaning process in silicone surpluses of
the joints, the proposed invention guarantees a uniform, regular and continuous adhesion
surface - and, consequently, a constant resistance - against the excesses or defects
which manual injection involves.
[0008] In the current state of the art, there is no self-adhesive profile for the assembly
of building blocks manufactured in glass, with the technical characteristics proposed
in the present invention.
Technical problem
[0009] The materials and the assembly techniques of these partitions, walls or panels of
glass blocks, present the following problems:
The use of cement or glue cement at the intersections of the stacked glass blocks,
in addition to being expensive, generates certain problems of stains and dirt, to
which must be added the cost and the addition of plastic spacers or similar for their
fastening.
[0010] On the other hand, the use of profiles by themselves or together with spacers necessarily
requires the application of silicone for an optimum sealing of the stacked blocks.
Technical solution
[0011] In order to resolve the limitations described above, the present invention is to
configure a profile shaped as an "H" lying with two lines or strips of an adhesive
body, arranged in parallel, on both longitudinal and flat sides of this profile.
[0012] On this self-adhesive profile, each of the glass blocks is progressively settled,
being perfectly adhered and aligned.
Advantageous effects
[0013] To this end, a more advantageous construction profile is achieved with the present
invention compared to those already disclosed and known, by reason of its functional
characteristics, in order to simplify its forms, its speed of assembly, in addition
to the suppression of tasks of application of adhesive or silicone products.
Description of the Figures
[0014] For a better understanding of the aforementioned general characteristics, a drawing
is attached to the present invention which sets out as follows:
Figure 1: General view on its plan, elevation, section and front of a profile (1) and a self-adhesive
body (2).
Figure 2: General view of a combined set of profiles (1) with their self-adhesive bodies (2)
arranged vertically and horizontally containing four glass blocks (3).
Figure 3: Front view of a combined set of profiles (1) arranged vertically and horizontally
containing four glass blocks (3).
Mode of carrying out the invention
[0015] With reference to the invention described, a combination of a profile shaped as a
lying down "H" is carried out, together with one or more lines or strips of an adhesive
body, arranged in parallel, on both longitudinal and planar faces of this profile,
and with their sides concave.
[0016] The interior of this profile contains two central cavities and two cavities at its
ends.
[0017] Building materials in the form of blocks can be of any nature, such as glass, wood
conglomerates or translucent or not translucent plastics, among others.
