(54) SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GEAR ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT SYSTEM FAILURE DETECTION


(57) A lubricant system (400) for a gear assembly (46) of an aircraft (10) is presented. The lubricant system (400) includes a main lubricant conduit (410) and an emergency lubricant conduit (420) joined with a valve (430). The valve (430) defines a closed position disposing lubricant through the emergency lubricant conduit (420) when an engine (10) is at rest. The valve (430) defines an open position disposing lubricant through the main lubricant conduit (410) when the engine (10) is in operation.
