(54) METHOD TO MONITOR MECHANICAL LOADS OF AN ACTUATOR FOR THE ROTATIONAL POSITIONING OF A MOVABLE PART OF A WIND TURBINE

(57) A method to monitor mechanical loads of at least one positioning actuator (17, 20) for the rotational positioning of a movable part (3, 6) of a wind turbine (1), wherein at least two load parameters, indicating a torque exerted upon, and an angular speed of the positioning actuator (17, 30) due to external forces acting upon the movable part (3, 6), are detected by means of sensors (24a-b, 36a-b; 37a-b, 38b-a) coupled to the positioning actuator (17, 30), the detected load parameters are processed in order to obtain torque (TQ) and angular speed (SP), an event is generated every time the obtained torque (TQ) exceeds a torque threshold (TQM1) or the obtained angular speed (SP) exceeds an angular speed threshold (SPM1) and the events are stored and processed in order to estimate the residual life of said positioning actuator (17, 30).
