[0001] The present invention relates to a bag or envelope with simplified closure. More
specifically, the invention relates to a bag or envelope that can be closed in a simple
and long-lasting manner.
[0002] As is known, bags or envelopes are available on the market which have the closing
flap internally provided with an adhesive area that is conveniently covered by a strip
of paper that has to be removed in order to expose the adhesive area and so enable
the flap to be closed with the adhesive area on the body of the bag or envelope, so
as to close the bag or envelope.
[0003] Bags or envelopes of this type therefore entail the need for the user to necessarily
remove the strip of paper in order to expose the adhesive area. Furthermore, stacking
bags or envelopes of this type likewise entails that the flap of the envelope or bag
which bears the above mentioned adhesive area on one of its faces is usually kept
in a position in which it is not folded onto the body of the bag or envelope, but
in line with a face of the body of the bag or envelope. This means that the flap with
the adhesive area protrudes with respect to the normal dimensions of the bag or envelope.
This entails possible damage to the portion with the adhesive flap, in addition to
constituting a greater space occupation than that which the bag or envelope provided
with a flap with an adhesive area would usually take up.
[0004] Furthermore, the market has shown that the operation to remove the protective film
of the adhesive area of the flap to close the bag or envelope is an unwelcome operation
for users and therefore it should be avoided in some way.
[0005] The aim of the present invention is to provide a bag or envelope made of paper or
paper bonded with another material, in which the bag or envelope can be closed without
removing a protective strip from any adhesive part of the bag or envelope.
[0006] Within this aim, an object of the present invention is to provide a bag or envelope
that can be closed in a simple and rapid manner.
[0007] Another object of the present invention is to provide a bag or envelope that can
be stacked with other, similar bags or envelopes, without any problems arising of
adhesive bonding between adjacent bags or envelopes.
[0008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a bag or envelope that is highly
reliable, easily and practically implemented and of low cost.
[0009] This aim and these and other objects which will become better apparent hereinafter
are achieved by a bag or envelope with simplified closure, comprising a bag or envelope
body, characterized in that said body is provided with at least two adhesive regions,
said adhesive regions being activated when they are brought into contact with each
other by folding the bag or envelope body onto itself.
[0010] Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent
from the description of preferred, but not exclusive, embodiments of the bag or envelope
according to the invention, which are illustrated by way of non-limiting example in
the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of a bag according to the present
invention;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the bag of Figure 1 in the closed condition;
Figure 3 is a perspective view of an envelope according to the present invention;
and
Figure 4 is a perspective view of the envelope of Figure 3 in the closed condition.
[0011] With reference to the figures, the bag according to the present invention, generally
designated by the reference numeral 1, comprises a body 2 of the bag which can be
of any shape or size.
[0012] The body 2 of the bag is conveniently provided with at least two regions 3a and 3b
which bear an adhesive or glue.
[0013] The regions 3a and 3b are conveniently arranged proximate to the upper end of the
bag so as to be able to close it, as will be explained below. However, the regions
3a and 3b can be arranged in any position on the body 2 of the bag 1.
[0014] Advantageously, the adhesive regions 3a, 3b are arranged mutually side-by-side.
[0015] Advantageously, the adhesive regions 3a, 3b extend in the direction of the width
of the bag or envelope, parallel to the direction of closure of the bag or envelope.
[0016] Conveniently, the adhesive present on the regions 3a and 3b is such that the adhesion
occurs only when the regions 3a and 3b are arranged in contact with each other.
[0017] This therefore makes it possible to stack bags 1 one on top of the other without
the regions 3a and 3b constituting points of adhesive bonding between adjacent bags.
[0018] In substance, therefore, the regions 3a and 3b make it possible to close the bag
1 by folding the bag onto itself so as to bring the region 3a to coincide with the
region 3b. Only in this case does the adhesive present at the regions 3a and 3b exert
its adhesive bonding function, making it possible to keep the region 3a in contact
with the region 3b, and therefore making it possible to close the bag.
[0019] Figure 2 shows the bag of Figure 1 in the closed condition, with the region 3a brought
into contact with the region 3b.
[0020] Figure 3 shows a second embodiment of the invention, which is an envelope instead
of a bag, and in this case is designated by the reference numeral 10. The envelope
10 comprises a body 11 of the envelope provided with a flap 12 for closing the envelope
.
[0021] Conveniently, there are two regions 13a and 13b, respectively on the flap 12 of the
envelope and on the body 11 of the envelope, which bear adhesive, as previously explained
for the regions 3a and 3b of the bag 1.
[0022] In this case too, the adhesive of the regions 13a and 13b is such that the adhesive
bonding can occur only when the region 13a is brought into contact with the region
13b, as illustrated in Figure 4, thus closing the flap 12 of the envelope onto the
body 11 of the envelope, therefore enabling it to be closed.
[0023] The bag or envelope is made of paper or of paper bonded with any other material.
[0024] In practice it has been found that the bag or envelope according to the invention
fully achieves the above mentioned set aim and objects, in that it makes it possible
to have regions with adhesive which do not require a strip of protective paper, but
which are activated only when the regions are coupled together. This enables a rapid
closing of the bag, avoids having to remove a strip of paper protecting the adhesive
regions, and furthermore makes it possible to be able to stack identical bags or envelopes
one on top of the other, without having to worry about the presence of the adhesive
regions which, as mentioned, perform their function only when they are brought into
contact with each other.
[0025] The invention, thus conceived, is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations,
all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.
[0026] Moreover, all the details may be substituted by other, technically equivalent elements.
[0027] In practice, the materials used, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions,
may be any according to the requirements and to the state of the art.
