(54) CONSTRUCTION JOINT FOR CONCRETE FLOORS WITH A SAW LIKE TOP PROFILE

(57) The present invention relates to a construction joint for concrete floors especially suitable in places where heavy or fragile loads are handled. It consists of two vertical saw-like bended steel strips (1), equipped with an anchoring system to the concrete slab (2) supported by steel sheet profiles with the upper part in the shape of a T (5) that can have fixed height or be associated with a sliding profile. In the steel sheet profile there are slots for the passage / placement of load transmission devices (4). For repairs of existing floors it is possible to use only the top part of the joint.

Description

Technical Field

[0001] Joints for concrete floors are a product used in the construction and repair of concrete floors; they allow movements between adjacent slabs and also the use of load transmission devices that aim to maintain their leveling.

[0002] On floors where continuity between adjacent slabs is essential, due to the movement of fragile loads or the need to reduce maintenance intervals in places of high demand, the way to maintain this continuity is to divide the slabs using joints that have a superior profile with a shape that allows permanent contact between the surface of the slabs and the wheel / tire of the handling equipment.

Background Art

[0003] There are currently several models of joints for concrete floors available on the market whose upper profile allows continuity in the wheel-slab contact, namely that referred to in portuguese patent application No. 107249, which has a horizontal upper profile with sinusoidal cutout, due to the very wide upper profile they are difficult to level and have some restrictions on the movement of the slabs in the direction of the joint line.

[0004] The use of vertical profiles instead of horizontal profiles allows a smaller width of the upper profile of the joint helping its lateral leveling, as well as the saw-like shape, a more open shape than the sinusoidal one will allow a larger movement of the slab in the direction of the line joint.

Summary of invention

[0005] The product is a construction joint for concrete floors; it is used between adjacent slabs allowing the movement and loads transmission between them.

[0006] The upper part of the joint has two vertical steel strips profiles bended in a saw-like form that are equipped with a system of anchoring to the concrete slab; under these upper profiles there are steel sheet profiles whose upper part have a T shape form that is centered with the upper profiles of the joint, with fixed height or in association with a sliding profile. The bottom of the profile, whether fixed or not, can be hooked or inverted T.

[0007] In the bottom steel profile there are slots for the passage / placement of load transmission devices / horizontal leveling of the adjacent slabs. These load transmission devices can have several shapes and dimensions and may or may not have a plastic sleeve associated, depending on the floor requirements.

[0008] For the repair of pre-existing concrete floors, only the set of upper profiles with anchoring will be used.

Description of embodiments

[0010] The upper part of the joint consists of two vertical steel strips profiles bended into a saw-like shape (1) equipped with an anchoring system to the concrete slab (2). These profiles are positioned on steel sheet profiles (5) with the upper part in the shape of a T, centered in relation to the upper profiles, and the lower part in the shape of a hook.

[0011] In this lower steel sheet profile there are slots for the passage / placement of load transmission elements / horizontal leveling of the adjacent slabs (4). These load transmission devices may have different shapes and dimensions and may or may not have a plastic sleeve (3), according to the pavement requirements.

Claims

1. Construction joint for concrete floors consisting of two vertical steel strips profiles bended into a saw-like shape (1), with an anchor system (2) to the concrete slabs; positioned on bent steel sheet profiles (5), where the load transmission devices (4) and the respective sleeves (3) are placed.

2. Construction joint according to claim 1 which its saw-like shape allows permanent contact of the slab surface with the wheel / tire of the material handling equipment and also a movement, in the direction of the joint line of the adjacent slabs, greater than the joints with sinusoidal profile.

3. Construction joint according to claim 1, characterized by having load transmission devices (4) that allow the use of fast leveling devices and sleeves (3) where these bars slide in the horizontal plane.

4. Construction joint according to claim 1, characterized in that it has steel sheet profiles (5) with a T shape on the top and a hook shape or inverted T on the bottom and can have a fixed height or be associated with a sliding profile.
