[0001] The present invention relates to a cooking device wherein the cooking process is
controlled by means of a thermostat
[0002] Today cooking devices are used for preparing foodstuffs by means of processes such
as heating, cooking, etc. The cooking devices exhibit structural and design differences
depending on the need and can be used in a wide field. The oven is one of the most
frequently used devices to prepare foodstuffs. The cooking process in the ovens is
performed by transmitting the heat generated by the heater onto the foodstuffs placed
into the cooking chamber. Depending on the type and amount of the foodstuff to be
cooked and the user preference, the amount of heat to be emitted into the cooking
chamber for a certain time during the cooking process varies. The temperature value
in the cooking chamber is detected by means of a thermostat and the cooking process
is controlled. However, in a cooking device wherein the temperate in the cooking chamber
is detected by means of the thermostat, the heater temperature reaches high values
and prevents the thermostat placed in the vicinity of the heater from detecting the
correct temperature value in the cooking chamber. Therefore, for example, a homogeneous
heat distribution cannot be provided in the cooking chamber, causing the failure to
perform an effective cooking process or the cooking device is damaged as the thermostat
is effected by high temperatures.
[0003] In the state of the art European Patent Document No.
EP1845311, a cooking device is disclosed, wherein the thermostat is placed onto the ceiling.
[0004] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooking device wherein an
efficient cooking process is performed.
[0005] The cooking device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention,
explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a body;
a cooking chamber which is disposed in the body and wherein the foodstuffs to be cooked
are placed; and a casing which surrounds the cooking chamber. The casing is in the
form of a box with the front side open, having a rear wall covering the rear surface
of the body and a ceiling cover the upper surface of the body. In the cooking chamber,
at least one heater is disposed, which provides the heat required for the cooking
of the foodstuffs during the cooking process. On the body, a door is disposed, which
interrupts the contact between the cooking chamber and the outer environment. The
heaters are positioned closed to the walls of the cooking chamber and generate a hot
air to be dissipated in the cooking chamber so as to perform the cooking process.
On the body, a thermostat is disposed, which detects the temperature in the cooking
chamber. The detected temperature is compared with an upper limit temperature predetermined
by the producer at different values for different cooking processes, and if the temperature
reaches the upper limit value, the heater is turned off. During the cooking process,
the temperature of the heater reaches high values, and the components or foodstuffs
positioned in the vicinity of the heater may be damaged. Between the heater and the
cooking chamber, a protective wire is disposed, which prevents the components or foodstuffs
from being damaged due to the heat emitted by the heater. The protective wire is preferably
produced from a refractory material.
[0006] The cooking device of the present invention comprises a protector which is disposed
on the body. The protector is positioned so as to surround the thermostat and prevents
the thermostat from being affected by the temperature of the heater. Thus, the thermostat
is enabled to correctly detect the temperature in the cooking chamber, and the cooking
process is controlled, ensuring an effective cooking.
[0007] In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device comprises the protector
having a plurality of side walls surrounding the thermostat. A first opening is arranged
on the side wall. The end of the protective wire is passed through the first opening
such that the protector is fixed on the rear wall.
[0008] In another embodiment of the present invention, the protector comprises at least
one skirt on the free end of the side wall, which extends perpendicularly to the side
wall. Thus, the protector and the protective wire are easily aligned and placed onto
the body.
[0009] In another embodiment of the present invention, the protector comprises a second
opening which is arranged on the skirt. After the protector is aligned with respect
to the protective wire, the end of the protector, which is parallel to the ceiling,
is passed through the second opening, thus completing the placement on the body.
[0010] In another embodiment of the present invention, the protector is in the form of an
L. Thus, the protector easily surrounds the thermostat and is aligned with respect
to the protective wire to be placed onto the body.
[0011] By means of the present invention, a cooking device is realized, wherein the thermostat
is enabled to correctly detect the temperature in the cooking chamber by means of
the protector which is placed onto the body by being aligned with the protective wire.
[0012] The cooking device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is
