    Description

    Technical field of the invenbtion

[0001] The present invention relates to a bed sheet fastening system, ie a system to retain a cover sheet positioned on a mattress.

    State of the art

[0002] Various devices are known to fix a sheet or a blanket with respect to a mattress, developed to prevent an involuntary movement of the sheet or blanket due to the user's night movement during sleep.

[0003] Such known devices mainly consist of laces or straps which are used to stop the sheet with respect to the corners of the mattress.

[0004] Alternatively, further systems consist of gripper or clamp elements which constrain the edge of the cover sheet to the mattress or to the bed structure.

[0005] However, a drawback of known systems is that in a condition of use the fastening elements used are easily released from the sheet due to the movements performed during sleep.

[0006] A further drawback is that once released, the fasteners distributed on the mattress or blanket can act as impact and snag elements during sleep.

    Summary of the invention

[0007] Therefore, the technical problem posed and solved by the present invention is that of providing a bed sheet fastening system which allows to overcome the drawbacks mentioned above with reference to the known art.

[0008] This problem is solved by a bed sheet fastening system according to claim 1.

[0009] Preferred features of the present invention are present in the dependent claims.

[0010] The present invention provides some relevant advantages.

[0011] In particular, the characteristic conformation of the bed sheet fastening system according to the present invention allows its easy positioning to ensure the fastening of at least a portion of the sheet or blanket with respect to the mattress, considerably reducing the possibility of moving it and allowing a more comfortable rest.

[0012] Furthermore, the system according to the present invention can be used not only to fix the blankets laterally as an alternative to the known locking straps mentioned above, therefore to avoid falls or to avoid uncomfortable movement of the blankets towards the edge of the mattress, but it can also be advantageously used centrally or in any case to divide the space available between the sheet and the mattress into several compartments of defined volume.

[0013] Advantageously, in fact, by positioning the bed sheet fastener according to the present invention on a cover sheet between two users in the supine position, each user can take advantage of an individual housing compartment between the sheet and the mattress, thus avoiding that the blankets are moved mainly from a only side of the bed resulting in obvious discomfort.

[0014] Similarly, even in the case of a single user, the bed sheet fastening system according to the present invention can be positioned in the desired area of the double mattress to create a single and large housing compartment.

[0015] In addition, the bed sheet fastening system according to the invention acts as a lateral protection, both on double beds and on single beds, to prevent accidental falls during sleep.

[0016] The system according to the invention can be advantageously applied also to cots or cradles.

[0017] A further advantage is due to the fact that the bed sheet fastening system according to the present invention does not have any angular areas or impact surfaces which could cause disturbance during sleep.

[0018] Other advantages, characteristics and methods of use of the present invention will become evident from the following detailed description of some embodiments, presented by way of example and not of limitation.

    Detailed description of preferred embodiments

[0020] In the following the description will be directed to a bed sheet fastening system, for example shown in figure 1, to retain at least a portion of a cover sheet positioned on a mattress with respect to the mattress.

[0021] With reference to figures 2-4, a first embodiment of the bed sheet fastening system according to the present invention is identified as a whole with 100. The bed sheet fastening system 100 comprises a substantially oblong pressing element 50, configured to be positioned above the sheet.

[0022] The pressing element 50, for example shaped as a rod or bar, has a first 5 and a second 15 terminal ends.

[0023] As shown in the figures, the bed sheet fastening system provides for anchoring means configured to anchor the pressure element 50 with respect to the mattress.

[0024] In the first embodiment described here, the anchoring means comprises a ribbon element 10 which is constrained, for example by means of a seam, or which can be constrained, for example by means of a connection element, at an end portion 20 to the first 5 terminal end of the pressure element 50.

[0025] The ribbon element 10, which has such a length that it can be positioned longitudinally from edge to edge of a mattress, also comprises a connection element at a further end portion 30 to anchor the further end portion of the ribbon element 10 to the second terminal end 15 of the pressing element 50, in a condition of use of the bed sheet fastening system.

[0026] Preferably, therefore, both the pressure element 50 and the ribbon element 10 can be released from the mattress, independently of each other, in such a way as to allow for a personalized positioning according to specific needs.

[0027] A second embodiment of the invention according to the present invention, shown in figures 5 and 6, is identified as a whole with 101.

[0028] The bed sheet fastening system 101 comprises a pressure element 50, as described above, and anchoring means 11 and 12 configured to anchor the pressure element 50 with respect to the mattress.

[0029] In the example described here, the anchoring means comprises a ribbon element 11 constrained or constrainable, for example by means of a connection element, at an end portion 21 to the first 5 terminal end of the pressure element 50.

[0030] The ribbon element 11, which has such a length that it can be positioned astride a thickness of the edge of a mattress, is preferably constrained to a lower surface of the mattress at a further end portion 31. For example, a seam to anchor the further end portion 31 of the ribbon element 11 to a portion of the lower surface of the mattress.

[0031] As shown in figure 5, the anchoring means also comprises a further ribbon element 12 constrained or constrainable, for example by means of a connection element, at an end portion 22 to the second 15 terminal end of the pressure element 50.

[0032] The ribbon element 12, which has such a length that it can be positioned astride an edge thickness of a mattress, is preferably constrained to a lower surface of the mattress at a further end portion 32. For example, a seam to anchor the further end portion 32 of the ribbon element 12 to a portion of the lower surface of the mattress.

[0033] Therefore, in the second embodiment of the bed sheet fastening system according to the present invention, the pressure element 50 can be released from the anchoring means, while the ribbon elements 11 and 12 are fixed to the mattress, in such a way that they can be easily stored under the mattress in a non-use configuration of the bed sheet fastening system.

[0034] In particular, as will be better described below, the ribbon element 11 and the further ribbon element 12 can be constrained, for example by sewing, at a central area of the mattress as shown in figure 6, or at an edge area of the mattress itself, according to the specific needs of the user.

[0035] Advantageously, the overall configuration of the bed sheet fastening system 100, 101 according to the invention is such that, when the pressure element 50 is positioned at a portion of the sheet to keep it in contact with the mattress, and the further end portion of the ribbon element is anchored to keep the pressure element 50 in the predefined position with respect to the mattress, at least one housing compartment for covering is defined between the mattress and the sheet, said compartment being delimited by a fastened portion of the cover sheet and by a perimeter edge of the sheet itself.

[0036] In particular, the first embodiment provides for the possibility of anchoring the pressure element 50 to the mattress in different positions, in such a way as to define, for example, two independent covering compartments avoiding that two users can pull the blanket on one side rather than on the other.

[0037] The use of the bed sheet fastening system 100, 101 according to the invention in a central position of the mattress also allows you to define two compartments of equal capacity, each compartment being usable uniquely by each user.

[0038] In alternative positions, for example by fixing the sheet fastener at one edge of the mattress, a constraint of the cover sheet with respect to the mattress is guaranteed even when, for example for reasons of space, it is not possible to constrain the sheet by bringing it under the lower surface of the mattress. A further advantage of this positioning is that, for example in the case of children or users with special needs, a fastening of the covering compartment is guaranteed, thus preventing unwanted accidental falls from the bed during sleep.

[0039] In the examples described here, the ribbon elements 10, 11, 12 are preferably belts.

[0040] In particular, the bed sheet fastening system according to the invention comprises fastening means configured to constrain each of the aforementioned ribbon element 10, 11, and/or the further ribbon element 12 respectively to the first 5 and second 15 terminal ends of the pressing element 50 .

[0041] The fastening means are in particular configured as male-female elements, positioned on the ends of the ribbon element and of the portion of the pressure element to be fastened.

[0042] For example, they include removable attachment elements, such as velcro, clips or buttons.

[0043] The removable fastening element ensures that the pressure element 50 can be easily removed if necessary.

[0044] The fastening means can also be configured to adjust a length of the portion of each ribbon element connected to the pressure element 50, in such a way as to adapt the bed sheet fastening system to the specific dimensions of the mattress and ensure its adherence to the sheet, to keep it stationary with respect to the mattress, in a configuration of use.

[0045] In particular, the fastening means can therefore comprises one or more clasps or one or more rings, through which the ribbon element or the pressure element can slide to adjust its length and, consequently, to adjust the force with which the pressure element anchors the cover sheet on the mattress.

[0046] A further fastening element, capable of adjusting the length of the portion of said pressure element 50 connected to the ribbon element, can comprise a slot, located near the end of the ribbon element to be fastened to said pressure element 50 and orthogonal with respect to to the length of the ribbon element, and a catch, so that said pressure element 50 can slide inside said slot and be fastened on said ribbon element by means of said catch.

[0047] Referring in particular to figure 7, in a preferred embodiment, the pressure element 50 comprises a main body 45 made of rigid material, for example metallic material, in such a way as to ensure the necessary rigidity to ensure its non-deformability.

[0048] In particular, the main body 45 has a rounded section, for example oval.

[0049] For example, the main body 45 is shaped as a flattened bar, having a flat lower surface, suitable for resting on the sheet to be fastened, and an upper surface which can be flat or thickened.

[0050] Preferably, the main body 45 is telescopic, in such a way as to be able to better adapt to the specific needs or to the different dimensions of a mattress.

[0051] As shown in figure 7a, the pressure element 50 comprises a coating layer 55 of the main body 45, made of material configured to cushion shocks, for example in expanded polymeric material.

[0052] The material of the coating layer 55, for example insulating, can comprise sponge, cork, polystyrene and expanded non-cross-linked polyethylene and has the purpose of cushioning any impacts.

[0053] The pressure element 50 also comprises a covering layer 65 of the coating layer 55, made of antislip material, optionally having a rough surface finish.

[0054] The cover layer 65 is the more external coating layer of the pressure element and may include, for example, a sheath made of nylon or other material and has a length greater than that of the intermediate insulating coating layer 55.

[0055] In particular, the intermediate insulating coating layer 55 will be positioned inside the covering layer 65, to which it will be fixed with special seams or other fastening means.

[0056] Optionally, on the face of the pressure element which is in contact with the sheet to be fastened, there may be a layer of antislip material.

[0057] The present invention has been described for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to a preferred embodiment thereof, but it is understood that variations and/or modifications may be made by those skilled in the art without thereby departing from the relative scope of protection, such as defined by the attached claims.
