MULTIMODAL POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITION WITH HIGH STIFFNESS AND HIGH FLOWABILITY AND
PROCESS FOR ITS PRODUCTION |
(57) The present invention relates to a multimodal polypropylene composition comprising
(A) a first propylene polymer fraction (PP1), and (B) a second propylene polymer fraction
(PP2), wherein the first propylene polymer fraction (PP1) and the second propylene
polymer fraction (PP2) have different weight average molecular weights, and the multimodal
polypropylene composition has (i) a melt flow rate MFR
2 (230°C, 2.16kg, ISO 1133) of from 1 to 500 g/10 min., (ii) a molecular weight distribution
(Mw/Mn), determined by gel permeation chromatography according to ISO 16014-1:2003
and ISO 16014-4:2003, of at least 6.0 and not more than 20.0, (iii) an isotacticity
index (mmmm pentads) of at least 97 %, measured by
13C-NMR, and a xylene soluble fraction (XCS), determined according to ISO 16152; first
edition, 2005-07-01 at 25 °C of less than 3.5 wt.%. The invention further provides
a process for the production of this composition and its use for the production of
molded and extruded articles.
