[0001] The present invention relates to a dishwasher which provides efficient drying.
[0002] In dishwashers, the washing process is composed of certain steps. By means of the
prewashing step, the dirt on the dishes is removed. After the prewashing step, the
temperature of the water is increased, and the main washing step is performed wherein
the cleaning is realized with hot water and detergent. In the main washing step, the
oil residues and dirt on the dishes are removed. In the rinsing steps after the main
washing step, the detergent residues and dirt residues are removed from the surfaces
of the dishes. After the rinsing step, the drying step is performed. By means of the
drying step, the water droplets on the dishes are dried. Thus, the formation of stains
on the dishes is prevented and the dishes are unloaded from the machine in a dry state.
In order to ensure an efficient drying step, the dishes are heated before the drying
step. The heating process is realized by heating the water. The sooner the steam on
the heated dishes is removed from the washing tub, the more efficient the drying process
becomes. It is known that the rapid removal of the hot air in the washing tub from
the tub during the drying process increases the drying performance. However, since
the temperature inside the washing tub is very high, it is not possible for the user
to open the door until the temperature drops.
[0003] In the state of the art Korean Patent Application No.
KR20200023976, a dishwasher is disclosed, which opens the door depending on the temperature of
the washing tub.
[0004] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a dishwasher with improved
drying performance.
[0005] The dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated
in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a body; a washing
tub which is disposed in the body; a door which is provided on the body; a sump wherein
the water leaving the washing tub is collected; at least one rack which enables the
kitchens items to be loaded into the washing tub; at least one spraying member which
sprays water onto the rack; and a temperature sensor which measures the temperature
of the washing tub. The water sprayed onto the rack by means of the spraying member
leaves the washing tub to be collected in the sump. The water is cleansed of dirt
in the sump.
[0006] The dishwasher of the present invention comprises a control unit which opens the
door almost at the same time as the start of the drying step. By means of the control
unit, the door is opened at the start of the drying step. Thus, the hot air inside
the washing tub is discharged, increasing the efficiency of the drying step.
[0007] In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the control unit
which opens the door within a predetermined period of time as of the start of the
drying step. The door is enabled to be opened within a certain period of time, at
the most, after the start of the drying step. Thus, the hot steam is enabled to be
discharged from the washing tub very quickly.
[0008] In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the control unit
which opens the door when the temperature inside the washing tub is between 40°C and
45°C. When the dishwasher starts the drying step, the temperature inside the washing
tub is between these values. Thus, the door can be opened at the start of the drying
step. Consequently, savings in energy are provided by preventing high temperatures
and opening the door at the start of the drying step.
[0009] In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises the control unit
which enables the door to remain open for a predetermined period of time and then
to be closed. Thus, the door is opened and closed more than once during the drying
step, increasing the drying performance.
[0010] By means of the present invention, a dishwasher is realized, comprising a control
unit which opens the door at the start of the drying step, wherein the drying performance
is increased.
[0011] A dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated
in the attached figure, where:
Figure 1 - is the perspective view of the dishwasher.
[0012] The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
- 1. Dishwasher
- 2. Body
- 3. Washing tub
- 4. Door
- 5. Sump
- 6. Rack
- 7. Spraying member
- 8. Temperature sensor
- 9. Control unit
[0013] The dishwasher (1) comprises a body (2); a washing tub (3) which is disposed in the
body (2) and wherein the washing process is performed; a door (4) which interrupts
the contact between the washing tub (3) and the outer environment; a sump (5) which
is disposed at the base of the washing tub (3) and wherein the water is collected;
at least one rack (6) which is disposed in the washing tub (3) and wherein the kitchen
items are loaded; at least one spraying member (7) which sprays water onto the rack
(6); and a temperature sensor (8) which is disposed in the washing tub (3) and which
measures the temperature in the washing tub (3). The dishes are placed onto the racks
(6) disposed in the washing tub (3). By means of the spraying member (7), water is
delivered onto the dishes. The water trickling down the dishes is collected in the
sump (5). The temperature in the washing tub (3) is determined by means of the temperature
sensor (8) disposed in the washing tub (3).
[0014] The dishwasher (1) of the present invention comprises a control unit (9) which opens
the door (4) before the start of the drying step or at the same time as the drying
step. By means of the control unit (9), the door (4) is opened at the start of the
drying step. When the door (4) is opened, the hot steam in the washing tub (3) is
discharged, thus increasing the efficiency of the drying process. The opening of the
door (4) and the starting of the drying step are realized simultaneously.
[0015] In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the control
unit (9) which opens the door within a period of time predefined thereon by the manufacturer
after the start of the drying step. The door (4) is opened at the start of the drying
step or within a certain period of time at the most. The door (4) is preferably opened
within 10 minutes at the latest. Thus, the steam is discharged when it is most intense.
[0016] In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the control
unit (9) which opens the door (4) when the temperature inside the washing tub (3)
is between 40 °C and 45°C depending on the data received from the temperature sensor
(8). At the start of the drying step, the temperature inside the washing tub (3) is
between 40 °C and 45°C. Thus, the door (4) is opened at the start of the drying step.
In the relevant embodiment, the temperature inside the washing tub (3) is preferably
42°C. Said temperature value inside the washing tub (3) both provides savings in energy
and enables the door (4) to be opened immediately.
[0017] In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the control
unit (9) which enables the door (4) to remain open for a predetermined period of time
and then to be closed again. The door (4) can be kept open and then closed at certain
intervals. Thus, the maximum amount of steam is discharged.
[0018] By means of the present invention, a dishwasher (1) is realized, comprising a control
unit (9) which provides that the drying process starts at low temperature and the
door (4) is opened at the same time as the drying step. Thus, savings in energy are
provided and the drying performance is increased.
1. A dishwasher (1) comprising a body (2); a washing tub (3) which is disposed in the
body (2) and wherein the washing process is performed; a door (4) which interrupts
the contact between the washing tub (3) and the outer environment; a sump (5) which
is disposed at the base of the washing tub (3) and wherein the water is collected;
at least one rack (6) which is disposed in the washing tub (3) and wherein the kitchen
items are loaded; at least one spraying member (7) which sprays water onto the rack
(6); and a temperature sensor (11) which measures the temperature in the sump (5),
characterized by a control unit (9) which opens the door (4) before the start of the drying step or
at the same time as the drying step.
2. A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the control unit (9) which opens the door within a period of time predefined thereon
by the manufacturer after the start of the drying step.
3. A dishwasher (1) as in Claim 1 or Claim 2, characterized by the control unit (9) which opens the door (4) when the temperature inside the washing
tub (3) is between 40 °C and 45°C depending on the data received from the temperature
sensor (8).
4. A dishwasher (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the control unit (9) which enables the door (4) to remain open for a predetermined
period of time and then to be closed again.
