(54) EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT DEVICE FOR SHIPS


(57) Provided is an exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships comprising: a reaction tower provided in the ship and to which exhaust gas is introduced; a first pump configured to introduce, into the reaction tower, liquid for treating the exhaust gas; a controlling unit configured to control an output of the first pump; and a draft acquiring unit configured to acquire a draft of the ship, wherein the controlling unit is configured to control the output of the first pump based on the draft of the ship acquired by the draft acquiring unit.

BACKGROUND


1. TECHNICAL FIELD



[0001] The present invention relates to an exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships.

2. RELATED ART



[0002] Conventionally, an exhaust gas treatment apparatus which is configured to control a volumetric flow rate of liquid for treating exhaust gas is known (for example, see Patent Documents 1-4).

TECHNICAL PROBLEM



[0003] In an exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships, it is preferred to control a volumetric flow rate of liquid for treating the exhaust gas according to a draft of the ship.

GENERAL DISCLOSURE



[0004] In the first aspect of the present invention, provided is an exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships. An exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships includes: a reaction tower which is provided in a ship, to which exhaust gas is introduced; a first pump configured to introduce, to the reaction tower, liquid for treating the exhaust gas; a controlling unit configured to control an output of the first pump; and a draft acquiring unit configured to acquire a draft of the ship. The controlling unit controls the output of the first pump based on the draft of the ship acquired by the draft acquiring unit.

[0005] The draft acquiring unit may acquire a first draft of the ship at a first clock time, and may acquire a second draft of the ship at a second clock time which is later than the first clock time. The controlling unit may control the output of the first pump to be a first output when the draft of the ship is the first draft, and may control the output of the first pump to be a second output which is different from the first output when the draft of the ship is the second draft.

[0006] The controlling unit may control the second output to be less than the first output when the second draft is higher than the first draft.

[0007] The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships may further include a pressure measurement unit configured to measure at least one of a suction pressure of liquid introduced into the first pump and a discharge pressure of the liquid derived from the first pump. The draft acquiring unit may acquire the draft of the ship based on at least one of the suction pressure and the discharge pressure measured by the pressure measurement unit.

[0008] The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships may further include a draft sensor configured to sense a location of a water surface in the ship. The draft acquiring unit may acquire the draft of the ship based on the location of the water surface sensed by the draft sensor.

In the vertical direction, a location of one of the plurality of ejecting units and a location of another one of the plurality of ejecting units are different from each other. The controlling unit may control an amount of the liquid ejected by one of the plurality of ejecting units and an amount of the liquid ejected by another one of the plurality of ejecting units based on the draft of the ship which is acquired by the draft acquiring unit.

[0013] The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships may further include: a spray unit configured to spray exhaust liquid generated by treating the exhaust gas on exhaust gas introduced into the reaction tower; and a second pump configured to supply the exhaust liquid to the spray unit. The controlling unit may control an output of the second pump.

[0014] The second pump may be provided, in the vertical direction, between a lowest draft which is the lowest draft of the ship and a highest draft which is the highest draft of the ship.

[0015] In the vertical direction, when a location of the second pump is the same as the location of the water surface in the ship or lower than the location of the water surface, the controlling unit may control the output of the second pump.

[0016] The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships may further include a third pump configured to: introduce liquid into the reaction tower; or cause the exhaust liquid to be discharged from the reaction tower, the exhaust liquid being generated by treating the exhaust gas. The controlling unit may control whether to introduce the liquid into the reaction tower by the third pump based on the draft of the ship, or to cause the third pump to discharge the exhaust liquid from the reaction tower.

[0017] In the vertical direction, the third pump may be located above the location of the water surface in the ship in a case of a lowest draft which is the lowest draft on the ship, and may be located below the location of the water surface in the ship in a case of a highest draft which is the highest draft of the ship.

[0018] In the vertical direction, when a location of the third pump is lower than the location of the water surface in the ship, the controlling unit may cause the third pump to discharge the exhaust liquid to the reaction tower. In the vertical direction, when the location of the third pump is the same as the location of the water surface in the ship or higher than the location of the water surface, the controlling unit may cause the third pump to introduce the liquid to the reaction tower.

DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS



[0022] Hereinafter, the invention will be described through embodiments of the invention, but the following embodiments do not limit the invention according to claims. In addition, not all combinations of features described in the embodiments are essential to the solution of the invention.

[0023] Fig. 1 shows one example of a ship 200 according to one embodiment of the present invention. The ship 200 of the present example includes an exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships 100. In Fig. 1, a range of the exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships 100 is shown by dashed-dotted lines. In the present example, the ship 200 is navigating the ocean 300.

[0024] The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships 100 includes a reaction tower 10, a first pump 60, a controlling unit 74, and a draft acquiring unit 76. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships 100 may include a power apparatus 50. The power apparatus 50 is, for example, an engine, a boiler, or the like. The power apparatus 50 discharges exhaust gas 30. The exhaust gas 30 includes harmful substances such as sulfur oxide (SOx), nitrogen oxide (NOx), or the like.

[0025] The reaction tower 10 is provided in the ship 200. The exhaust gas 30 is introduced into the reaction tower 10. The first pump 60 introduces liquid 40 for treating the exhaust gas 30 into the reaction tower 10. The liquid 40 may be sea water. The liquid 40 may be alkaline liquid. In the present example, the liquid 40 treats the exhaust gas 30 within the reaction tower 10. Treating the exhaust gas 30 means removing the harmful substances included in the exhaust gas 30.

[0026] The controlling unit 74 controls an output of the first pump 60. The output of the first pump 60 may be a rotation speed per unit time of an electric motor driving the first pump 60, or may be a frequency of the electric motor. The controlling unit 74 may control a volumetric flow rate of the liquid 40 introduced into the reaction tower 10 by controlling the output of the first pump 60. The volumetric flow rate of the liquid 40 introduced into the reaction tower 10 may be an amount of the liquid 40 introduced per unit time into the reaction tower 10.

[0027] The draft acquiring unit 76 acquires a draft d of the ship 200. The draft d of the ship 200 is a height from a ship bottom 220 of the ship 200 to a water surface 210. In Fig. 1, the draft d of the ship 200 is shown by a double-headed arrow. In the present example, the water surface 210 is a sea level of the ocean 300.

[0028] The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships 100 may further include a draft sensor 31. The draft sensor 31 may be provided in a ship hull 230 of the ship 200. The draft sensor 31 senses a location of the water surface 210 in the ship 200. In the present example, the draft acquiring unit 76 acquires the draft of the ship 200 based on the location of the water surface 210 (in the present example, a sea level) sensed by the draft sensor 31.

[0029] The controlling unit 74 controls the output of the first pump 60 based on the draft d of the ship 200. The draft d of the ship 200 is likely to be changed according to a mass of a payload or the like of the ship 200. When the draft d of the ship 200 is changed, the output of the first pump 60 which is required for introducing the liquid 40 into the reaction tower 10 is likely to be changed. In the exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships 100 of the present example, since the controlling unit 74 controls the output of the first pump 60 based on the draft d of the ship 200, the controlling unit 74 can control the output of the first pump 60 to be an optimal output according to the draft d. It should be noted that, when the draft d of the ship 200 changes according to the mass of the payload or the like of the ship 200, the controlling unit 74 may control the output of the first pump 60 based on the mass of the payload of the ship 200.

[0030] The controlling unit 74 may control the power of the power apparatus 50 based on the draft d of the ship 200. The draft d in the case in which the ship 200 is loaded with the payload or the like is likely to be higher than the draft d in the case in which the ship 200 is not loaded with the payload or the like. The higher the draft d of the ship 200, the more likely the resistance force the ship hull 230 receives from the ocean 300 being increased. Therefore, the controlling unit 74 may control the power of the power apparatus 50 to be increased as the draft d increases.

[0031] Fig. 2A shows one example of an exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships 100 may further include an exhaust gas introduction tube 32 and a liquid introduction tube 24.

[0032] The exhaust gas introduction tube 32 connects the power apparatus 50 and the reaction tower 10. In the present example, the exhaust gas 30 discharged from the power apparatus 50 is introduced into the reaction tower 10 after passing through the exhaust gas introduction tube 32. The liquid introduction tube 24 connects the first pump 60 and the reaction tower 10. In the present example, the liquid 40 supplied from the first pump 60 is introduced into the reaction tower 10 after passing through the liquid introduction tube 24.

[0033] The reaction tower 10 may have an exhaust gas inlet 11 to which the exhaust gas 30 is introduced. The liquid 40 for treating the exhaust gas 30 is introduced into the reaction tower 10. The liquid 40 becomes exhaust liquid 46 after treating the exhaust gas 30. The exhaust gas 30 becomes purified gas 34 after being treated by the liquid 40. The reaction tower 10 may have an exhaust gas outlet 17 from which the purified gas 34 is discharged. The purified gas 34 may be released into the atmosphere.

[0034] The reaction tower 10 of the present example has a side wall 15, a bottom surface 16, a gas treating portion 18, and a liquid outlet 19. The reaction tower 10 of the present example has a columnar shape. In the present example, the exhaust gas outlet 17 is located at a location opposing the bottom surface 16 in a parallel direction to a central axis of the reaction tower 10 with the columnar shape. In the present example, the side wall 15 and the bottom surface 16 are an inner surface and a bottom surface of the reaction tower 10 with the columnar shape, respectively. The exhaust gas inlet 11 may be provided on the side wall 15. In the present example, the exhaust gas 30 is introduced into the gas treating portion 18 after passing through the exhaust gas inlet 11 from the exhaust gas introduction tube 32.

[0035] The side wall 15 and the bottom surface 16 are formed of a material which has durability for the exhaust gas 30 and the purified gas 34, as well as for the liquid 40 and the exhaust liquid 46. The material may be a combination of an iron material such as SS400 or S-TEN (registered trademark) and at least one of a coating agent and a painting agent, a copper alloy such as naval brass, an aluminum alloy such as aluminum brass, a nickel alloy such as cupronickel, Hastelloy (registered trademark), and stainless steel such as SUS316L, SUS329J4L, or SUS312.

[0036] In the present specification, the technical matter may be described using the orthogonal coordinate axis of an X-axis, a Y-axis and a Z-axis. In the present specification, a plane which is parallel to the bottom surface 16 of the reaction tower 10 is referred to as an X-Y plane, and a direction toward the exhaust gas outlet 17 of the bottom surface 16 (a direction which is perpendicular to the bottom surface 16) is referred to as a Z-axis. In the present specification, a predetermined direction in the X-Y plane is referred to as an X-axis direction, and a direction which is orthogonal to the X-axis in the X-Y plane is referred to as a Y-axis direction.

In the present example, the exhaust gas 30 pivots in the X-Y plane when viewed in a direction from the exhaust gas outlet 17 to the bottom surface 16.

That the exhaust gas 30 is traveling in the traveling direction E1 means that the exhaust gas 30 is traveling in a direction from the exhaust gas inlet 11 to the exhaust gas outlet 17. In the present example, the traveling direction E1 of the exhaust gas 30 is parallel to the Z-axis. In Fig. 2A, the traveling direction E1 of the exhaust gas 30 is indicated by solid line arrows.

[0040] The reaction tower 10 may have one or more trunk tubes 12 and one or a plurality of branch tube 13 to which the liquid 40 is supplied. The reaction tower 10 may have one or a plurality of ejecting unit 14 configured to eject the liquid 40. In the present example, the ejecting unit 14 is connected to the branch tube 13, and the branch tube 13 is connected to the trunk tube 12.

[0043] In the present example, the branch tubes 13-1 to 13-4 are connected to the trunk tube 12-1, the branch tubes 13-5 to 13-8 are connected to the trunk tube 12-2, and the branch tubes 13-9 to 13-12 are connected to the trunk tube 12-3. The branch tube 13-1, the branch tube 13-3, the branch tube 13-5, the branch tube 13-7, the branch tube 13-9 and the branch tube 13-11 may be located on both sides of the trunk tube 12 in a direction parallel to the Y-axis. The ejecting units 14-1 to 14-12 of the present example are respectively connected to the branch tubes 13-1 to 13-12. In one branch tube 13 extending in the Y-axis direction, a plurality of ejecting units 14 may be provided on one side of the trunk tube 12 in the direction parallel to the Y-axis, and a plurality of ejecting units 14 may be provided on the other side. In one branch tube 13 extending in the X-axis direction, a plurality of ejecting units 14 may be provided on one side of the trunk tube 12 in the direction parallel to the X-axis, and a plurality of ejecting units 14 may be provided on the other side. It should be noted that, in Fig. 2A, the ejecting unit 14-1A, the ejecting unit 14-3A, the ejecting unit 14-5A, the ejecting unit 14-7A, the ejecting unit 14-9A and the ejecting unit 14-11A are not illustrated in the figure since they are located at a location overlapping the trunk tube 12.

[0047] The ejecting unit 14 has opening planes for ejecting the liquid 40. In Fig. 2A, the opening planes are indicated by "×". In one branch tube 13, the respective opening planes of the ejecting units 14 located on the one side and the other side of the trunk tube 12 may face one direction and the other direction forming a predetermined angle to the extending direction of the branch tube 13. To describe the ejecting unit 14-2 as an example, in the present example, the opening plane of the ejecting unit 14-2A located on one side of the trunk tube 12-1 is facing one direction forming a predetermined angle with the branch tube 13-2A, and the opening plane of the ejecting unit 14-2B located on the other side of the trunk tube 12-1 is located at one direction forming a predetermined angle with the branch tube 13-2B.

[0048] The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships 100 may further include a volumetric flow rate controlling unit 70. The volumetric flow rate controlling unit 70 is configured to control a volumetric flow rate of the liquid 40 supplied into the reaction tower 10. The volumetric flow rate controlling unit 70 may have a valve 72. In the present example, the volumetric flow rate controlling unit 70 controls, by the valve 72, the volumetric flow rate of the liquid 40 supplied from the first pump 60 to the ejecting unit 14. In the present example, the volumetric flow rate controlling unit 70 includes three valves 72 (a valve 72-1, a valve 72-2 and a valve 72-3). In the present example, the volumetric flow rate controlling unit 70 controls, by the valve 72-1, the valve 72-2 and the valve 72-3, a volumetric flow rate of the liquid 40 respectively supplied into the trunk tube 12-1, the trunk tube 12-2 and the trunk tube 12-3. The liquid 40 supplied to the trunk tube 12 is ejected into an inside of the reaction tower 10 (a gas treating portion 18) from the ejecting unit 14 after passing through the branch tube 13.

[0049] The controlling unit 74 is configured to control an amount of the liquid 40 ejected by the ejecting unit 14. Claims

1. An exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships comprising:

a reaction tower provided in the ship and to which exhaust gas is introduced;

a first pump configured to introduce, into the reaction tower, liquid for treating the exhaust gas;

a controlling unit configured to control an output of the first pump; and

a draft acquiring unit configured to acquire a draft of the ship, wherein

the controlling unit is configured to control the output of the first pump based on the draft of the ship acquired by the draft acquiring unit.


 
2. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to claim 1, wherein

the draft acquiring unit configured to acquire a first draft of the ship at a first clock time and acquire a second draft of the ship at a second clock time which is later than the first clock time, and

the controlling unit is configured to control the output of the first pump to be a first output when the draft of the ship is the first draft, and control the output of the first pump to be a second output which is different from the first output when the draft of the ship is the second draft.


 
3. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to claim 2, wherein the controlling unit is configured to control the second output to be less than the first output when the second draft is higher than the first draft.
 
4. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to any one of claims 1 to 3, further comprising a pressure measurement unit configured to measure at least one of a suction pressure of the liquid introduced into the first pump and a discharge pressure of the liquid derived from the first pump, wherein
the draft acquiring unit is configured to acquire the draft of the ship based on at least one of the suction pressure and the discharge pressure measured by the pressure measurement unit.
 
5. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to any one of claims 1 to 4, further comprising a draft sensor configured to sense a location of a water surface in the ship, wherein
the draft acquiring unit is configured to acquire the draft of the ship based on the location of the water surface sensed by the draft sensor.
 
6. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the controlling unit is configured to stepwisely control the output of the first pump.
 
7. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein when the draft of the ship is less than a predetermined draft threshold, the controlling unit is configured to control the output of the first pump to be a predetermined constant output.
 
8. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein

the reaction tower has a plurality of ejecting units configured to eject the liquid,

in a vertical direction, a location of one of the plurality of ejecting units and a location of another one of the plurality of ejecting units is different from each other, and

the controlling unit is configured to control an amount of the liquid ejected by one of the plurality of ejecting units and an amount of the liquid ejected by another one of the plurality of ejecting units based on the draft of the ship.


 
9. An exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships comprising:

a reaction tower which is provided in a ship and to which exhaust gas is introduced, the reaction tower having a plurality of ejecting units configured to eject liquid for treating the exhaust gas;

a draft acquiring unit configured to acquire a draft of the ship; and

a controlling unit configured to control an amount of the liquid ejected by the ejecting unit, wherein

in a vertical direction, a location of one of the plurality of ejecting units and a location of another one of the plurality of ejecting units are different from each other, and

the controlling unit is configured to control an amount of the liquid ejected by one of the plurality of ejecting units and an amount of the liquid ejected by another one of the plurality of ejecting units based on the draft of the ship which is acquired by the draft acquiring unit.


 
10. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to any one of claims 1 to 9, further comprising:

a spray unit configured to spray, on exhaust gas introduced into the reaction tower, exhaust liquid generated by treating the exhaust gas; and

a second pump configured to supply the exhaust liquid to the spray unit, wherein

the controlling unit is configured to control an output of the second pump.


 
11. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to claim 10, wherein the second pump is provided, in a vertical direction, between a lowest draft which is the lowest draft of the ship and a highest draft which is the highest draft of the ship.
 
12. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to claim 10 or 11, wherein in a vertical direction, when a location of the second pump is the same as a location of a water surface in the ship or lower than the location of the water surface, the controlling unit is configured to control the output of the second pump.
 
13. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to any one of claims 1 to 12, further comprising a third pump configured to: introduce the liquid into the reaction tower; or cause exhaust liquid to be discharged from the reaction tower, the exhaust liquid being generated by treating the exhaust gas, wherein
the controlling unit is configured to control, based on the draft of the ship, whether to introduce the liquid into the reaction tower by the third pump, or to cause the third pump to discharge the exhaust liquid from the reaction tower.
 
14. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to claim 13, wherein in a vertical direction, the third pump is located above a location of a water surface in the ship in a case of a lowest draft which is the lowest draft of the ship, and located below the location of the water surface in the ship in a case of a highest draft which is the highest draft of the ship.
 
15. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus for ships according to claim 13 or 14, wherein

in a vertical direction, when a location of the third pump is lower than a location of a water surface in the ship, the controlling unit is configured to cause the third pump to discharge the exhaust liquid to the reaction tower,

in the vertical direction, when the location of the third pump is the same as the location of the water surface in the ship or higher than the location of the water surface, the controlling unit is configured to cause the third pump to introduce the liquid to the reaction tower.
