[0002] Currently, the air ventilation is becoming more and more popular also in new-build
family houses. Whether it is air conditioning systems, recovery systems or controlled
active air exchange. In current practice, the emphasis is primarily put on a trouble-free
operation of air ventilation systems and also on the simplicity and the speed of its
installation.
[0003] In partitions or in drop ceilings, the air ventilation system is distributed by air
ventilation hoses, and in the interior, it is ended with an exit opening usually fitted
with a mushroom valve, which enables the air flow from the air ventilation system
into the room. The exit opening is situated in the interspace behind the curtain wall
or in the drop ceiling. The exit openings into walls or ceilings are not fixed, they
only passively hold due to the insertion of an intermediate piece between the exit
opening and the mushroom valve. This unsecured connection can increase the susceptibility
to failure of the system, when frequent handling the mushroom valve or its opening
and closing for the regulation of the passing air can result in minor shocks leading
to the exit opening falling out of the wall, and thus to the system failure. In a
standard way, the air ventilation exit opening is fixed in the drop ceiling using
clamps holding the exit opening body or an air ventilation hose, which is very inconvenient
for the most common installation into plasterboard, since an aperture must be cut
into the plasterboard for the exit opening, to which an interior valve is fitted,
and the exit opening itself is not fixed, and its installation to the valve is difficult
and requires sealing.
Description of the Invention
[0004] The air ventilation exit opening according to this invention disposes of a fixing
rim for rear fixing the air ventilation exit opening directly into the partition,
i.e. into its unexposed side, which is a wall or a drop ceiling, made usually of plasterboard
or drop ceiling panels, thus eliminating anchoring to the ceiling or the wall behind
this partition when looking from the interior. The exit opening is provided with a
hose and a partition end cylindrical parts which are connected by the exit opening
body, wherein a fixing rim is situated between the exit opening body and the partition
end cylindrical part. Using the partition end cylindrical part, the exit opening is
inserted into the aperture in the partition and onto which an interior, preferably
mushroom, valve is fitted. The partition end cylindrical part of the exit opening
is inserted into the aperture in the partition from the non-interior side and from
the other exposed interior side of the partition, an interior valve closing the whole
air ventilation distribution and connecting the air ventilation piping with the interior
is fitted. The exit opening is fixed to the partition by screwing from the non-interior
side of the building partition through an interior valve collar through the partition
into the fixing rim of the exit opening. This way, the whole air ventilation exit
opening is well fixed and removable.
[0005] The exit opening has two end pieces, a hose end cylindrical part for connecting the
air ventilation hose, and a partition end cylindrical part for inserting into the
aperture in the building partition and fitting the interior valve. These two end parts
preferably have a different diameter. The inner diameter of the hose end cylindrical
part for connecting the air ventilation hose is greater than the outer diameter of
the air ventilation hose, preferably at most by 3 mm greater, to ensure a good connection
between the air ventilation hose and the exit opening. The connection between the
hose end cylindrical part and the air ventilation hose is usually sealed by a sealing
to minimize the gas leaks in the connection. The partition end cylindrical part for
fitting the interior valve, or its diameter, is variable and corresponds to the selected
interior valve for which it is produced.
[0006] The fixing rim is preferably compact and is situated all around the exit opening
at the edge between the exit opening body and the partition end cylindrical part of
the exit opening for fitting the interior valve, which facilitates the fixation of
the exit opening in the partition - after the installation into the partition, the
fixing rim is situated either from the interior exposed side of the partition and/or
it is situated from the rear side of the partition or the drop ceiling, i.e. most
frequently the plasterboard. In both cases, the fixing rim is fixed to the partition
using simple screwing a screw. Then, the interior valve is fitted directly into the
exit opening or via an intermediate piece. This interior valve covers the exit opening
and its fixing screws, and forms the exposed component of the whole air ventilation
system.
[0007] The fixing rim has an annular ring, wherein the inner circle has a diameter equal
to the outer diameter of the partition end cylindrical part of the exit opening and
it directly fits tightly to it, and the distance between the outer circle and the
inner circle is 0.7 to 4 mm; the rim is offset from the edge of the end part of the
exit opening by 0.5 to 4 cm with thickness of 0.15 to 0.8 cm and is made of plastic.
This ensures that the rim can be screwed through by screws and at the same time, the
rim is not too wide to make the installation difficult. The rim thickness is of importance
especially for high-quality fastening of screws to prevent screwing into the rim edge
and to provide a tight connection.
[0008] With respect to the fact that the rim is made as a part of the exit opening, which
is usually plastic, the rim is also plastic, mostly made of polypropylene, polyurethane,
ABS or polystyrene. The rim can be made of metal as well, e.g. aluminium or thin-walled
steel, and can be pressed into the plastic exit opening. In such cases, screws designed
for metal must be used.
Summary
[0009] An air ventilation exit opening into an interior, fixable to a building partition,
which is a lining or a drop ceiling, wherein the air ventilation exit opening is provided
with a hose end cylindrical part for fitting the air ventilation hose leading behind
the building partition from its non-interior side, a partition end cylindrical part
for inserting into the aperture in the building partition and fitting the interior
valve, wherein the hose end cylindrical part and the partition end cylindrical part
are connected by an exit opening body, when the hose end cylindrical part has the
inner diameter greater than the outer diameter of the air ventilation hose,
a fixing rim for fitting the interior valve is situated on the boundary between the
exit opening body and the partition end cylindrical part of the air ventilation exit
opening for fitting the interior valve; the fixing rim is perpendicular to the wall
of the partition end cylindrical part and fixable to the non-interior side of the
building partition by screwing a screw and has a shape of a flat annulus ring defined
by two concentric circles centered at the centre of the partition end cylindrical
part in its cross-section, wherein the smaller inner annulus ring circle has a diameter
equal to the outer diameter of the partition end cylindrical part of the exit opening,
and directly fits tightly to it, and the greater outer circle is 0.7 to 4 cm distant
from the inner circle, thereby the fixing rim length width is 0.7 to 4 cm; its thickness
is less than its width.
