BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Technical Field
[0001] The present disclosure belongs to the technical field of wastewater treatment, and
specifically relates to a method for efficiently removing bisphenol pollutants from
a water body and a compound biochar material.
Description of Related Art
[0002] Bisphenols (BPs), fine chemicals with similar chemical structures, are mainly used
as synthetic monomers of various polymeric materials. As crosslinking agents in rubber
industry, etc. the bisphenols have been widely used in production of daily necessities,
and mainly include organic pollutants such as BPA, TBBPABADGE-HCL-H
2O, BADGE, BADGE-HCL, BADGE-H
2O, BADGE-2HCL, BADGE-2H
2O, BFDGE, BFDGE-2H
2O, BFDGE-2HCL, BPA, BPF and Bis-S with different molecular weights and their derivatives.
Bisphenol A (BPA) is one of the most representative compounds. In consideration of
the potential health risks posed by BPA to the human body, numerous countries and
regions have established regulations on its manufacture and use. Therefore, environmental
behavior studies and health risk evaluation of potential alternative products of BPA
is bound to be the focus of attention. In recent years, a wide range of studies have
been published on the potential endocrine disrupting effects of the bisphenols. Moreover,
bisphenol pollutants have been detected in widespread environmental media of soil,
water, sediment, indoor dust, etc. Bisphenol A is one of the most widely used industrial
compounds in the world, and is mainly used for producing polycarbonate, epoxy resin,
polysulfone resin, polyphenylene ether resin, unsaturated polyester resin and other
high molecular materials. It can also be used for producing fine chemical products
such as plasticizers, flame retardants, antioxidants, heat stabilizers, rubber anti-aging
agents, pesticides, coatings, etc. BPA is ubiquitous, from mineral water bottles,
medical devices to the inside of food packaging. Every year, 27 million tons of plastic
containing BPA are produced worldwide. But BPA can also cause endocrine disorders
that threaten health of fetuses and children. Cancer and obesity caused by metabolic
disorders are also considered to be associated with it.
[0003] Tetrabromobisphenol A, a derivative of bisphenol A, is a white powder mainly used
as an additive for plastic products, and is one of the commonly used brominated flame
retardants. Bisphenol A and tetrabromobisphenol A have been proved harmful to human
health in various tests. On October 27, 2017, a list of carcinogens published by the
International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization is read
as a preliminary reference, bisphenol A and tetrabromobisphenol A are both included
in a list of Group 2A carcinogens, and both are often present in water simultaneously.
[0004] Methods for removing pollutants of bisphenols of BPA, TBBPA, etc. from wastewater
mainly include a physical degradation method, a biodegradation method and a catalytic
oxidation method. Existing studies have found that a porous carbon material, with
a sizable specific surface area and high hydrophobicity, is considered as an excellent
removal agent for hydrophobic organic pollutants. The porous carbon material is widely
used in treatment of organic wastewater due to its low cost, high degradation and
easy separation.
[0005] Disclosed in Chinese invention application No.
CN201811095179.8 are a method for preparing biochar by high-temperature carbonization modification
of waste cigarette butts and use of biochar. The disclosure is to solve the existing
technical problem of serious bisphenol A pollution and pollution caused by waste cigarette
butts in a water body. The disclosure includes: 1, carbonizing a cigarette butt through
a hydrothermal method; 2, performing centrifuging and drying; 3, performing high temperature
pyrolysis; and 4, adding an acid, and performing suction filtration to prepare biochar.
The biochar prepared in the disclosure is used as an adsorbent for removing bisphenol
A from the water body. In this disclosure, biochar is prepared by using the waste
cigarette butts as raw materials, which is combined with removal of BPA. The biochar
obtained from the waste cigarette butt modified by means of high-temperature carbonization
has little influence on the removal of BPA under different pH conditions with humic
acid added, and has obvious selectivity. In addition, the biochar has targeted selectivity
for BPA in actual water. Moreover, BPA adsorption performance of the biochar is significantly
improved compared with commercial activated carbon, so as to provide an effective,
feasible and convenient way for improving water quality.
[0006] However, the above disclosure is merely applicable to the removal of BPA from a water
body, but not to removal of TBBPA and other bisphenols with different molecular weights
simultaneously. Furthermore, the used preparation method for biochar and the raw materials
are expensive, and are difficult to use in a wide range. In addition, the method does
not provide a reliable method capable of verifying an effect of the material for pollutant
removal.
[0007] Moreover, biochar materials are widely used in removal of organic pollutants. In
order to improve the effect of the biochar for pollutant removal and improve separation
of the biochar from environmental media, researchers often modify the biochar. Ball
milling treatment can increase a specific surface area, pore volume, and types and
content of surface functional groups of the biochar, reduce a particle size of the
biochar, and endow the biochar with better suspension and dispersion ability in a
liquid phase. Modification with iron oxide, for example, loading iron oxide on the
biochar, can endow the biochar with a strong magnetic property, which is conducive
to magnetic separation of the biochar in a complex environment. Although the modification
treatment improves a certain property (such as the specific surface area) of the biochar,
it will inevitably result in the decrease in other properties (such as the pore size
and porosity) of the material. The desorption amount increases while the adsorption
amount increases, so the comprehensive properties of the material cannot be balanced.
[0008] Most wastewater treatment technical solutions use one specific biochar material to
treat one type of bisphenol component, that is, use a single material to remove one
pollutant. In order to achieve effective removal of a variety of pollutants, it is
necessary to separately use a variety of materials and carry out multiple application
removal operations, resulting in high treatment costs and low efficiency. For treatment
of a water body containing various bisphenols, it is necessary to prepare corresponding
various biochar materials for various pollutants, and carry out application and multiple
removal and purification operations, to treat the various bisphenols with different
molecular weights in the water body, and it is impossible to use one material and
one removal operation to purify the bisphenols synchronously, so the production, use
and removal costs of the biochar materials increase, which will inevitably limit generalization
and use of the biochar.
[0009] In addition, during the removal of bisphenol pollutants (such as BPA and TBBPA) from
water by using biochar materials, only adsorption amount of the biochar is used to
predict and verify removal capacity and a removal effect on the pollutants, and accuracy
of a prediction and verification result is low due to coexistence of adsorption and
desorption. Moreover, as there are various biochar materials, and the biochar materials
have different removal effects and efficiency for different concentrations of the
bisphenols of BPA, TBBPA, etc., so how to prepare a variety of materials and obtain
the optimal compounding ratio becomes a technical problem. Furthermore, treatment
of large-area water pollutants often consumes a large amount of biochar materials.
Classified and graded treatment with the existing methods and materials limits large-scale
use of the biochar materials due to the large use amount of the biochar materials
and a long period.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0010] In view of the above defects of the prior art, the objective of the present disclosure
is to provide a method for efficiently removing bisphenol pollutants from a water
body. A compound material with three types of various kinds of biochar is used as
a broad-spectrum removal agent for wastewater containing various bisphenol components,
for example, BPA, TBBPA, etc., so as to simplify a material preparation and removal
cycle of wastewater treatment and reduce a total usage amount of the materials. A
new solid loading amount is used to predict, compute and verify pollutant removal
capacity of the biochar, and a removal effect and efficiency of the various bisphenol
components, for example, BPA and TBBPA with different concentrations in a water environment
are accurately evaluated, so as to solve the problem that since adsorption and desorption
coexist in the removal process of the pollutants by the biochar, the pollutant removal
capacity may not be computed and verified simply by an adsorption amount of the biochar
for the pollutants. By optimizing a preparation process of the biochar material, a
series of biochar materials with various types and various kinds are obtained in sequence,
advantages of various materials are used to form a comprehensive advantage, the compound
materials are formed according to the various bisphenol components, for example, BPA
and TBBPA with different concentrations in the water body, to minimize the total weight
of the consumed materials and moderate the removal efficiency, the various bisphenol
components, for example, and BPA and TBBPA are removed from the water body synchronously,
so as to improve efficiency and an effect of wastewater treatment, and further to
reduce treatment costs, which is conducive to large-scale use.
[0011] The objective of the present disclosure is to further provide a compound biochar
material for performing the above method. A removal agent compounded with raw biochar,
ball-milled modified biochar and iron modified biochar is used, an optimal formulation
is obtained by means of linear programming and solid loading amount(an adsorption
amount minus a desorption amount) computation for different concentrations of the
various bisphenol components, for example, BPA and TBBPA in the wastewater, and compounding
of the various types of biochar materials at a plurality of preparation temperatures
may obtain a treatment solution with a best removal effect and a smallest amount of
consumption of the biochar materials, synchronous treatment of the various bisphenol
components at a single time, and a lowest comprehensive cost.
[0012] In order to achieve the above objective, the present disclosure provides the following
technical solution:
[0013] A method for efficiently removing bisphenol pollutants from a water body includes:
- A, preparing three types of biochar materials, that is, biochar (BC), ball-milled
modified biochar (BBC), and iron oxide modified biochar (BC@Fe3O4);
- B, computing maximum solid loading amounts per unit weight of the three types of materials
for the various bisphenol pollutants (for example, BPA and TBBPA) in wastewater separately;
- C, measuring contents of the plurality of bisphenol pollutants (for example, BPA and
TBBPA) in a wastewater sample separately;
- D, computing an optimal compounding ratio of each of at least two types of biochar
materials by means of a linear programming algorithm and by taking a minimum total
weight of the material composed of at least one of BC and BBC and BC@Fe3O4 after compounding as an objective function and taking a maximum total solid loading
amount not less than the contents of the various bisphenol pollutants (for example,
BPA and TBBPA) in the wastewater sample as a constraint condition; and
- E, weighing corresponding weights of the corresponding biochar materials according
to the optimal compounding ratios respectively, uniformly mixing same to prepare a
compound biochar material, and adding the compound biochar material to the wastewater
at once to remove the various bisphenol pollutants (for example, BPA and TBBPA) from
the water body synchronously. Specifically, the method further includes:
A1, preparing three types of twelve kinds of biochar materials, specifically, preparing
four kinds of biochar by pyrolyzing sawdust biomass in a nitrogen atmosphere at 350°C,
500°C, 650°C and 800°C for 4 h respectively, and marking the four kinds of biochar
as BC350, BC500, BC650 and BC800 correspondingly; placing BC350, BC500, BC650 as well
as BC800 and agate mill balls in ball-milling tanks, milling same separately to obtain
irregular particles in shape, and marking ball-milled modified biochar correspondingly
obtained as BBC350, BBC500, BBC650 and BBC800 respectively; and performing iron oxide
modification on BC350, BC500, BC650 and BC800, and marking obtained iron oxide modified
biochar as BC350@Fe3O4, BC500@Fe3O4, BC650@Fe3O4 and BC800@Fe3O4;
B1, measuring and computing maximum BPA and TBBPA solid loading amounts per unit weight
of the three types of twelve kinds of materials in the wastewater separately, and
taking the maximum solid loading amounts as parameters for determining constraint
conditions of the materials in linear programming;
C1, measuring contents of BPA and TBBPA in the wastewater sample separately;
D1, computing an optimal compounding ratio of each of three types of biochar materials
by means of a linear programming algorithm and by taking a minimum total weight of
the material composed of at least two of the three types and at least three of the
twelve kinds of biochar materials after compounding as an objective function and taking
a maximum total solid loading amount not less than the contents of BPA and TBBPA in
the wastewater sample as a constraint condition; and
E1, weighing corresponding weights of the three types of twelve kinds of biochar materials
according to the optimal compounding ratios respectively, uniformly mixing same to
prepare a compound biochar material, and adding the compound biochar material to the
wastewater to remove the BPA and TBBPA from the water body.
[0014] As for a compound biochar material used for the method for efficiently removing bisphenol
pollutants from a water body, the compound biochar material is a uniform mixture,
with at least two types of biochar materials, prepared by mixing one of BC and BBC
and BC@Fe
3O
4 according to an optimal compounding ratio, and is used for removing the various bisphenol
pollutants (for example, BPA and TBBPA) from the water body; and based on the content
of the bisphenol pollutants (for example, BPA and TBBPA) in the wastewater sample
and the maximum solid loading amount of the as least two types of biochar materials,
the optimal compounding ratio takes a minimum total weight of the compound material
as an objective function and takes a maximum total solid loading amount not less than
the content of the bisphenol pollutants (for example, BPA and TBBPA) in the water
body as a constraint condition, to obtain the compound material, composed of at least
two types of materials, by means of the linear programming algorithm, an adsorption
amount of the biochar obtained after compounding of the at least two types of biochar
materials is not less than a minimum adsorption amount of each kind of biochar, and
a desorption amount of the biochar obtained after compounding is not greater than
a maximum desorption amount of each kind of biochar.
[0015] The three types of biochar materials BC, BBC and BC@Fe
3O
4 are prepared at different temperatures to obtain twelve kinds of materials: BC350,
BC500, BC650, BC800, BBC350, BBC500, BBC650, BBC800, BC350@Fe
3O
4, BC500@Fe
3O
4, BC650@Fe
3O
4, and BC800@Fe
3O
4; and the compound biochar material is a uniform mixture obtained by mixing three
types of biochar materials BC, BBC and BC@Fe
3O
4, that is, compounding and combining three to twelve kinds of the twelve kinds of
biochar materials according to the optimal compounding ratio.
[0016] Compared with the prior art, the present disclosure has the advantages:
- 1. A method for efficiently removing bisphenol pollutants from a water body and a
compound biochar material provided in the present disclosure mainly overcome the defects
of high treatment cost, low efficiency, etc. caused by using a single material to
remove one pollutant in existing wastewater treatment, and a broad-spectrum removal
agent is obtained by compounding various biochar materials with different advantages
and features. Specifically, three biochar materials of raw biochar, ball-milled modified
biochar and iron modified biochar, with different features, prepared under different
temperature conditions are compounded to serve as a removal agent, and various bisphenol
(represented by BPA and TBBPA) organic pollutants with different molecular weights
in wastewater may be synchronously removed by single-time application. of the various
biochar materials compounded exert the performance advantages separately, such that
a removal effect and efficiency are improved, various bisphenol components, for example,
BPA, TBBPA, etc. are synchronously removed from the water body, treatment efficiency
and effect of the wastewater are improved, an adsorption amount is largest, a desorption
amount is smallest, the comprehensive treatment cost of material consumption and removal
period is reduced, and the purpose of large-scale use is facilitated.
- 2. The method for efficiently removing bisphenol pollutants from a water body and
a compound biochar material provided in the present disclosure are used for synchronously
and efficiently removing the various bisphenol organic pollutants, for example, BPA,
TBBPA, etc. with different concentrations from the water body, various biochar materials
with different performances and features are used and compounded, such that a treatment
solution with a minimum use amount and a lowest cost of the compound biochar material
is obtained. Moreover, a novel method for accurately predicting and verifying pollutant
removal capacity of the biochar is used, so as to verify an effect and efficiency
for removing the various bisphenol organic pollutants, for example, BPA, TBBPA, etc.
with different concentrations from a water environment. Adsorption and desorption
coexist in a pollutant removal process of the biochar material, such that pollutant
removal capacity may not be predicted and verified merely by the pollutant adsorption
amount of the biochar. The present disclosure uses a solid loading amount (a desorption
amount minus an adsorption amount) to improve accuracy of prediction and verification
of the pollutant removal capacity of the biochar.
- 3. Three types of twelve kinds of biochar materials are prepared separately, adsorption
amounts, desorption amounts and solid loading amounts of the biochar materials for
single components of the bisphenol organic pollutants are tested separately. The solid
loading amount is used for predicting and verifying the removal capacity of the biochar
materials for the various bisphenol organic pollutants, for example, bisphenol A (BPA)
and tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA). By means of prediction and verification, for BPA,
the ball-milled and iron oxide modification may significantly improve a BPA adsorption
amount, desorption amount and solid loading amount of the biochar, and reduce a BPA
desorption rate and desorption hysteresis coefficient of the biochar, and the BPA
adsorption amount, desorption amount, desorption rate, desorption hysteresis coefficient
and solid loading amount of the biochar material may increase along with the increase
in pollutant concentration.
- 4. By means of actual prediction computation and verification, it is found that at
a low BPA concentration (1 mg/L), a BPA solid loading amount of the ball-milled modified
biochar is 1959.5 mg/kg-3156.5 mg/kg, which is 2.5 times-40.9 times a solid loading
amount of the raw biochar; and a BPA solid loading amount of the iron modified biochar
is 397.4 mg/kg-1444.2 mg/kg, which is 1.9 times-10.2 times the solid loading amount
of the raw biochar. At a medium BPA concentration (5.6 mg/L), the BPA solid loading
amount of the ball-milled modified biochar is 6780.8 mg/kg-15555.9 mg/kg, which is
4.6 times-103.6 times the solid loading amount of the raw biochar; and the BPA solid
loading amount of the iron modified biochar is 2087.8 mg/kg-7642.1 mg/kg, which is
1.2 times-28.6 times the solid loading amount of the raw biochar. At a high BPA concentration
(32 mg/L), the BPA solid loading amount of the ball-milled modified biochar is 10180.1
mg/kg-32916.0 mg/kg, which is 4.8 times-87.0 times the solid loading amount of the
raw biochar; and the BPA solid loading amount of the iron modified biochar is 4129.1
mg/kg-24181.8 mg/kg, which is 2.2 times-37.4 times the solid loading amount of the
raw biochar. For TBBPA, no desorption process exists, such that the adsorption amount
is the solid loading amount.
- 5. The ball-milled and iron oxide modified materials provided in the present disclosure
further improve the TBBPA solid loading amount of the biochar remarkably: when an
initial concentration of TBBPA is 0.1 mg/L, a TBBPA solid loading amount of the ball-milled
modified biochar is 3689.2 mg-3896.8 mg/kg, which is 17.5 times-56.8 times a solid
loading amount of the raw biochar; and a TBBPA solid loading amount of the iron modified
biochar is 441.5 mg/kg-2660.7 mg/kg, which is 2.1 times-16.6 times the solid loading
amount of the raw biochar. When the initial concentration of TBBPA is 0.3 mg/L, the
TBBPA solid loading amount of the ball-milled modified biochar is 8119.9 mg/kg-11870.9
mg/kg, which is 14.7 times-65.9 times the solid loading amount of the raw biochar;
and the TBBPA solid loading amount of the iron modified biochar is 1586.2 mg/kg-9467.7
mg/kg, which is 2.9 times-27.1 times the solid loading amount of the raw biochar.
When the initial concentration of TBBPA is 1 mg/L, the TBBPA solid loading amount
of the ball-milled modified biochar is 13380.2 mg/kg-29539.5 mg/kg, which is 7.0 times-47.9
times of the solid loading amount of the raw biochar; and the TBBPA solid loading
amount of the iron modified biochar is 3314.1 mg/kg-28625.7 mg/kg, which is 1.7 times-46.4
times the solid loading amount of the raw biochar.
- 6. According to the wastewater treatment method and the compound biochar material
provided in the present disclosure, various raw biochar, ball-milled modified biochar
and iron oxide modified biochar with different advantages and features are compounded
to serve as a broad-spectrum removal agent. A use amount of the compound material
may be accurately computed and verified according to components and concentrations
of the various pollutants in the wastewater. The various bisphenol (represented by
BPA and TBBPA) organic pollutants with different molecular weights may be removed
from the wastewater synchronously by single-time application. The plurality of biochar
materials for compounding exert the performance advantages separately and improve
the removal effect and efficiency, the treatment process is simplified, the treatment
cost is reduced, and large-scale popularization is facilitated.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0018] The present disclosure will be elaborated hereafter in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings and inventions.
Invention 1:
[0019] With reference to Figs. 1-6, the invention provides a method for efficiently removing
bisphenol pollutants from a water body. As an example of removing BPA and TBBPA of
the bisphenol pollutants, the method includes:
- A, three types of biochar materials, that is, biochar (BC), ball-milled modified biochar
(BBC), and iron oxide modified biochar (BC@Fe3O4) are prepared;
- B, maximum solid loading amounts per unit weights of the three types of materials
for the plurality of bisphenol pollutants (BPA and TBBPA) in wastewater are computed
separately;
- C, contents of the plurality of bisphenol pollutants (BPA and TBBPA) in a wastewater
sample are measured separately;
- D, an optimal compounding ratio of each of at least two types of biochar materials
is computed by means of a linear programming algorithm and by taking a minimum total
weight of the material composed of at least one of BC and BBC and BC@Fe3O4 after compounding as an objective function and taking a maximum total solid loading
amount not less than the contents of the plurality of bisphenol pollutants (BPA and
TBBPA) in the wastewater sample as a constraint condition; and
- E, corresponding weights of the corresponding biochar materials are taken according
to the optimal compounding ratios respectively to be uniformly mixed to prepare a
compound biochar material, and the compound biochar material is added to the wastewater
at once to remove the plurality of bisphenol pollutants (BPA and TBBPA) from the water
body synchronously. A preparation process of the biochar with different compounding
ratios includes: BC, BBC and BC@Fe3O4 biochar with set mass (and prepared at different temperatures) are accurately weighed
by using a balance according to the optimal compounding ratio computed in step D,
BC and/or BBC and BC@Fe3O4 are adding into a brown sample storage bottle separately, are oscillated for 10 min
on a vortex instrument at a speed of 2000 r/min to make same fully and uniformly mixed,
and are stored for later use; when in use, the biochar is uniformly applied to a water
body containing various bisphenol pollutants, and the various bisphenol pollutants
are removed from the water body by means of adsorption or decomposition of the biochar.
[0020] As for the foregoing compound biochar material used for the method for efficiently
removing bisphenol pollutants from a water body, the compound biochar material is
a uniform mixture, with two or three types of biochar materials, prepared by mixing
one of BC and BBC and BC@Fe
3O
4 according to an optimal compounding ratio, and is used for removing the plurality
of bisphenol pollutants (represented by BPA and TBBPA) from the water body; and based
on the content of the bisphenol pollutants (for example, BPA and TBBPA) in the wastewater
sample and the maximum solid loading amount of the as least two types of biochar materials,
the optimal compounding ratio takes a minimum total weight of the compound material
as an objective function and takes a maximum total solid loading amount not less than
the content of the bisphenol pollutants (for example, BPA and TBBPA) in the water
body as a constraint condition, to obtain the compound material, composed of at least
two types of biochar materials, by means of the linear programming algorithm, an adsorption
amount of the biochar obtained after compounding of the at least two types of materials
is not less than a minimum adsorption amount of each biochar, and moreover, a desorption
amount of the biochar obtained after compounding of three types of materials is not
greater than a maximum desorption amount of each biochar.
Invention 2:
[0021] The method for efficiently removing bisphenol pollutants from a water body and a
compound biochar material provided in the invention are basically identical to those
in Invention 1. The method for removing bisphenol pollutants further includes the
following steps on the basis of Invention 1:
A1, three types of twelve kinds of biochar materials are prepared, specifically, four
kinds of biochar are prepared by pyrolyzing sawdust biomass in a nitrogen atmosphere
at 350°C, 500°C, 650°C and 800°C for 4 h respectively, and are marked as BC350, BC500,
BC650 and BC800 correspondingly;
BC350, BC500, BC650 as well as BC800 and agate mill balls are placed in ball-milling
tanks and milled separately to obtain irregular particles in shape, and ball-milled
modified biochar correspondingly obtained is marked as BBC350, BBC500, BBC650 and
BBC800 respectively; and
iron oxide modification is performed on BC350, BC500, BC650 and BC800, and obtained
iron oxide modified biochar is marked as BC350@Fe3O4, BC500@Fe3O4, BC650@Fe3O4 and BC800@Fe3O4 respectively.
B1, maximum BPA and TBBPA solid loading amounts per unit weight of the three types
of twelve kinds of materials in the wastewater are measured and computed separately,
and the maximum solid loading amounts are taken as parameters for determining constraint
conditions of the materials in linear programming;
a method for measuring and computing the bisphenol pollutants solid-loaded on the
biochar material includes:
- 1) theoretical maximum solid-phase adsorption amount:

where Qe is a solid phase concentration (mg/kg) at adsorption equilibrium, Ce is a liquid phase concentration (mg/L) at adsorption equilibrium, KL (mg/L) is an adsorption coefficient of a Langmuir model, and Qmax (mg/kg) is adsorption capacity of the Langmuir model;
- 2) desorption hysteresis coefficient:

where Qsorb and Qdesorb are solid phase concentrations on an adsorption curve and a desorption curve respectively
in mg/kg; HI≤0 indicates that desorption hysteresis is not obvious, HI>0 indicates
that a desorption process exhibits hysteresis, and the larger HI is, the more obvious
the desorption hysteresis is, and the more difficult a desorption process of an adsorbate
is; and
- 3) solid loading amount:

where QI is a solid loading amount (mg/kg) of pollutants on a solid phase after an adsorption-desorption
cycle, Qe is the solid phase concentration (mg/kg) at adsorption equilibrium, and Qd is a desorption amount (mg/kg).
C1, contents of BPA and TBBPA in the wastewater sample are measured separately.
D1, an optimal compounding ratio of each of three types of biochar materials is computed
by means of a linear programming algorithm and by taking a minimum total weight of
the material composed of at least two types of four kinds in the three types of twelve
kinds of biochar materials after compounding as an objective function and taking a
maximum total solid loading amount not less than the contents of BPA and TBBPA in
the wastewater sample as a constraint condition.
[0022] Step D1 that an optimal compounding ratio of each of three types of biochar materials
is computed by means of a linear programming algorithm further includes step D1-1:
total mass z of the biochar after compounding the three types of materials is computed
according to a functional relation between a total volume V of the wastewater to be
treated and the concentrations of BPA and TBBPA as well as a total solid loading amount
QI:

[0074] mass percentages of BC, BBC and BC@Fe3O4 dosages are set to be X1, X2, and X3 respectively, where coefficients of X1, X2, and X3 are the adsorption amounts or desorption amounts of BPA and TBBPA obtained when each
of the three types of biochar materials is tested independently, and constraint conditions
are: the adsorption amount of the biochar with a compounding ratio of the three types
of materials is not less than a minimum adsorption amount of each kind of biochar,
and the desorption amount of the biochar with the compounding ratio of the three types
of materials is not greater than a maximum desorption amount of each kind of biochar,
which is specifically expressed as:

where, 0 ≤ X1, X2, X3 ≤ 1.
[0023] Step D1 further includes step D1-2:
the percentage coefficients of BC, BBC and BC@Fe3O4 dosages are computed to obtain X1, X2 and X3 respectively by means of linear programming, and ratios of BC350, BC500, BC650 and

are taken according to the optimal compounding ratios respectively to be uniformly
mixed to prepare a compound biochar material, and the compound biochar material is
uniformly added to the wastewater to remove the BPA and TBBPA from the water body.
[0025] The three types of biochar materials BC, BBC and BC@Fe
3O

BC500, BC650, BC800, BBC350, BBC500, BBC650, BBC800, BC350@Fe

types of biochar materials BC, BBC and BC@Fe

biochar materials according to the optimal compounding ratio.
[0026] The compound biochar material is provided with a granular structure with a rough
surface and an irregular shape, and Fe, C, O and N are uniformly distributed on a
surface of the biochar. The compound biochar material includes, in percentage by mass,
3.81%-8.77% of iron at the surface, 64.3%-76.34% of carbon at the surface, and 16.98%-24.84%

carboxyl (-COOH), carbonyl (-C=O), aliphatic -CH, aromatic C=C and aromatic -CH groups,
contains more -COOH oxygen-containing functional groups than the single material and
has Fe-O functional groups formed. A large number of functional groups and the moderate
content are used for interaction between the compound biochar material and the pollutants
with different molecular weights, so as to enhance synchronous adsorption capacity
of the compound biochar material for the various pollutants.
Invention 3:
[0027] The method for efficiently removing bisphenol pollutants from a water body and a
compound biochar material provided in the invention are basically identical to those
in Inventions 1 and 2. In the method for removing bisphenol pollutants, according
to a mass ratio, step A1 further includes the following steps on the basis of Inventions
1 and 2:
A1-1, biomass pretreatment is performed:
the sawdust biomass is washed with clean water to remove pollutants attached to the
biomass; and the washed biomass is placed in an oven for drying at 30°C-40°C, and
the dried biomass is sieved with an 80-mesh sieve for use.
A1-2, biochar (BC) is prepared:
a set amount of biomass is wrapped in tin paper, and then put into muffle furnaces,
and nitrogen is introduced into the muffle furnaces for 30 min to exhaust air; every
150°C is set as a temperature interval, the muffle furnace is cooled to a room temperature
when pyrolysis is carried out at 350°C, 500°C, 650°C and 800°C separately for 4 h
in the nitrogen atmosphere, the biochar prepared at each temperature is taken out,
uniformly milled, and sieved with 100-mesh sieves for use, so as to obtain biochar
with four different preparation temperatures; and corresponding to the preparation
temperatures, the biochar is marked as BC350, BC500, BC650 and BC800, respectively;
in step A1-2, when a temperature of the biochar prepared increases from 350°C to 800°C,
a carbon content of the biochar formed increases continuously, an oxygen content is
reduced continuously, atomic ratios of H/C and O/C are reduced, aromaticity of the
biochar prepared at a high temperature of 650°C-800°C increases, pores of a mesoporous
structure are developed, polarity of the mesoporous structure is reduced, and hydrophobicity
of the mesoporous structure increases; as the preparation temperature of the biochar
increases, an average pore size of the mesoporous structure is reduced continuously,
and a specific surface area increases significantly; and when BC350, BC500, BC650,
BC800 are compounded, diameters of the pore sizes are increasingly large, the average
pore size ranges from 1.66 nm to 23.7 nm, and different pore sizes are conducive to
entry of pollutants with different molecular weights into biochar channels, so as
to increase an adsorption amount and reduce a desorption amount.
A1-3, ball-milled modified biochar (BBC) is prepared:
1g of biochar and 100g of agate mill balls are weighed into a ball-milling tank to
be mixed uniformly; the biochar is milled at 300 r/min for 12 h, and specifically,
rotating is performed clockwise for 6 h and counterclockwise for 6 h with an interval
therebetween being 1h in an entire process; and marking obtained ball-milled modified
biochar as BBC350, BBC500, BBC650, BBC800 separately; and
in step A1-3, as for the ball-milled BBC350, BBC500, BBC650 and BBC800 materials,
a carbon content of the biochar is reduced, an oxygen content and a content of an
oxygen-containing functional group of the biochar increase, a pore size and a specific
surface area of the biochar are expanded, the specific surface area ranges from 3.54
m2/g to 333 m2/g, and the large specific surface area increases surface defect sites of the biochar,
and provides abundant adsorption sites for the pollutants with different molecular
weights, so as to further increase the adsorption amount and reduce the desorption
amount; and
A1-4, iron oxide modified biochar (BC@Fe3O4) is prepared:
300 mL of deionized water is weighed into a 500 mL three-neck flask, and nitrogen
is introduced for 30 min at a room temperature to exhaust air in the three-neck flask;
4.4903 g of FeCl3•6H2O and 2.3074 g of FeSO4•7H2O are weighed into the three-neck flask with air exhausted and stirred at a room temperature
until the same is dissolved to obtain a mixed solution; 1.925 g of biochar is weighed
into the mixed solution and stirred at a room temperature for 30 min, and then 10
M NaOH dropwise is continuously added into the mixed solution until a pH of the mixed
solution is 10-11 and a black precipitate is generated; stirring is performed at a
room temperature at 50 r/min for 1 h until precipitation is complete, then standing
is performed at a room temperature for 3 h-4 h, and the black precipitate BC@Fe3O4 is separated by means of a magnet or suction filtration; the separated BC@Fe3O4 is washed with ultrapure water five times and absolute ethanol three times, and BC@Fe3O4 is vacuum dried for use; and obtained iron oxide modified biochar is marked as BC350@Fe3O4, BC500@Fe3O4, BC650@Fe3O4, BC800@Fe3O4 separately;
in step A1-4, as for BC350@Fe3O4, BC500@Fe3O4, BC650@Fe3O4 and BC800@Fe3O4 modified by iron oxide Fe3O4, a carbon content of the biochar is reduced, an oxygen content, an oxygen-containing
functional group, a surface defect site and a pore size of the biochar increase; a
specific surface area of BC350 modified by iron oxide increases obviously; specific
surface areas of BC500, BC650 and BC800 modified by iron oxide are reduced significantly;
and when the BC@Fe3O4 is compounded with BC and BBC, a change range of a mesopore size and the specific
surface area is expanded, so as to further increase the adsorption amount for the
pollutants with different molecular weights and reduce the desorption amount.
[0028] The compound biochar material is provided with an amorphous carbon structure and
a graphitic carbon structure, the graphitic carbon structure with a higher degree
of crystallization has a large mesoporous content, developed pores and strong hydrophobicity;
an average pore size of a mesoporous structure ranges from 1.66 nm to 23.7 nm, a specific
surface area ranges from 3.54 m
2/g to 333 m
2/g, a large difference in pore sizes of the mesoporous structure is conducive to adsorption
of the pollutants with different molecular weights into biochar channels, and the
large and small specific surface areas of the plurality of materials combine with
one another to provide abundant adsorption sites for the pollutants with different
molecular weights, so as to increase the adsorption amount and reduce the desorption
amount.
[0029] According to the present disclosure, adsorption and desorption coexist in the pollutant
removal process of the biochar material, such that the pollutant removal capacity
may not be represented merely by the pollutant adsorption amount of the biochar, and
the solid loading amount (an adsorption amount minus a desorption amount) may accurately
evaluate and verify parameters of the pollutant removal capacity of the biochar.
[0030] According to the present disclosure, a removal agent compounded with raw biochar,
ball-milled modified biochar and iron modified biochar is used for removing bisphenol
(BPA and TBBPA) organic pollutants from a water body, and an optimal compounding ratio
of the compounding agent is obtained by computing a solid loading amount of the compounding
agent for the pollutants, so as to obtain a solution with a lowest treatment cost,
and further to evaluate and verify the pollutant removal capacity of the compound
material.
[0031] Three types of biochar materials are prepared in the invention of the present disclosure,
and the capacity to remove bisphenol A (BPA) and tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) is
evaluated by using the solid loading amount. For BPA, the ball-milled and iron oxide
modification may significantly improve a BPA adsorption amount, desorption amount
and solid loading amount of the biochar, and reduce a BPA desorption rate and desorption
hysteresis coefficient of the biochar, and the BPA adsorption amount, desorption amount,
desorption rate, desorption hysteresis coefficient and solid loading amount of the
biochar material may increase along with the increase in pollutant concentration.

are largest, and the compound biochar prepared at 350°C has a best BPA solid loading
effect; and the compound biochar prepared at 500°C has a best TBBPA solid loading
effect. A specific surface area of BC350@Fe

[0057] According to the present disclosure, the computation results of the solid loading
amount show that the biochar materials prepared at different temperatures and in different
compounding ratios remarkably increase the BPA and TBBPA solid loading amounts of
the biochar (in Figs. 12 and 13), so as to improve a removal effect, reduce a total
use amount, and reduce application frequency.
[0058] According to the present disclosure, three types of various kinds of biochar materials
are compounded, and the pollutant removal capacity of the biochar materials with different
compounding ratios is verified, such that a new method capable of effectively improving
use efficiency of the biochar and reducing the consumption and the application frequency
is provided. According to the present disclosure, a removal agent compounded with
raw biochar, ball-milled modified biochar and iron modified biochar is used for removing
various bisphenol (for example, BPA and TBBPA) organic pollutants from a water body.
An optimal compounding ratio of the compounding agent is obtained by computing a pollutant
solid loading amount of the compounding agent. The pollutant removal capacity of the
compound biochar material is accurately predicted and experimentally verified by means
of theoretical computation, so as to guarantee the pollutant removal accuracy and
reduce the total cost, which is a scientific and rigorous technical solution.
[0059] Although only BPA and TBBPA are used as examples in the inventions of the present
disclosure, the present disclosure is applicable to other bisphenol pollutant components
in the water body, for example, BADGE-HCL-H
2O, BADGE, BADGE-HCL, BADGE-H
2O, BADGE-2HCL, BADGE-2H
2O, BFDGE, BFDGE-2H
2O, BFDGE-2HCL, BPA, BPF, Bis-S and other organic pollutants and derivatives thereof.
[0060] While the effect of removing the various bisphenol pollutants from the water body
is improved, the total use amount and the application frequency of the biochar are
reduced, so as to greatly reduce the wastewater treatment cost, and facilitate large-scale
popularization. By means of actual tests, the various bisphenol pollutants may be
removed from the water body by one-time application and removal, and a set standard
is reached. Compared with a traditional technology, the total treatment solution of
the present disclosure may save the total cost by 50% or more, and improve the removal
efficiency by 30% or more.
[0061] It is to be noted that in other inventions of the present disclosure, other different
solutions obtained by specific selection within range of steps, components, ratios
and process parameters described in the present disclosure may achieve technical effects
described in the present disclosure, and therefore they are not listed one by one
in the present disclosure.
[0062] The foregoing is a description of preferred inventions of the present disclosure
and is not intended to be limiting in any way. Any person skilled in the art may make
many possible variations and modifications on the technical solution of the present
disclosure by using the methods and technical contents disclosed above, or modify
the technical solution into equivalent inventions equivalently changed, without departing
from the scope of the technical solution of the present disclosure. Equivalent changes
in the components, rations and processes according to the present disclosure are intended
to fall within the scope of protection of the present disclosure.
