Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention belongs to the sector of shopping delivery and collection, with home delivery. It is a cabinet, with the capacity for depositing and collecting groceries from the supermarket or any other item from any source, when we are away from our homes or from the place we have indicated for delivery.

[0002] The present invention relates to a cabinet with a variable capacity, which can be very small or up to 300 litres or more, i.e., "from very small, for example 25 litres, up to a capacity of 300 litres or more, for example up to 400 litres", and which is located on the outside of the door for entering a residence. The cabinet is fastened to the ground or to the door by means of a device, which prevents the cabinet from being stolen and it can be equipped with (one) fridge to preserve perishable food. It is also equipped with wheels to facilitate the movement of the items to the desired place, such as the kitchen, the fridge, etc. It is preferably front-opening with two doors, with a manual and electronic lock to be able to open it using a mobile phone with the corresponding application, and moreover, it is foldable, which reduces the volume thereof by 75% and makes it easy to store in a very small space, such as behind a door, if one does not want leave it unfolded, and it can also be non-foldable and would perform the same function.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] Home shopping delivery is experiencing a moment of great expansion, mainly due to electronic commerce, given that it is very comfortable to shop online or through other means and receive the purchases at home. The problem that arises is that we have to be at the delivery address when a delivery person comes. To solve this problem, different solutions have been developed: attached mailboxes for single-family homes, community mailboxes installed in neighbourhood communities, mailboxes in shopping centres, at gas stations and other appropriate places. Locks opened by code have also been developed, the code being provided to a delivery person, who opens the door of the residence and leaves the order inside the house, in the designated place.

[0004] Due to the foregoing points, a closet, container, chest, mailbox or similar (the name being irrelevant) having greater capacity with a fridge and being easily moved around the house is necessary, allowing us to receive the groceries we usually buy at the supermarket, or any other product that we have purchased.

EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The cabinet for depositing and collecting orders (closet, chest, drawer, container, etc.) object of the invention has a variable capacity, which can be very small or up to 300 litres or more, i.e., "from very small, for example 25 litres, up to a capacity of 300 litres or more, for example up to 400 litres" and is located on the outside of the door for entering a residence, another door on the premises of a house, or a door to a work site. It is preferably fastened to the ground by means of bolts and sockets, with the corresponding locking locks thereof, which are installed in the cabinet and which are inserted in the ground into the corresponding housings thereof, while another way to fasten the cabinet using bolts is by using the door frame or the facade of the house to insert the support point and the bolt housing, while yet another way of fastening the cabinet is by fastening it to the door itself by means of a fastening device that is installed on the door. Any of these fastening systems prevents the cabinet from being stolen or moved from its place.

[0006] The main advantages of this invention are summarised as follows:
  • Larger capacity than common mailboxes, allowing it to be equipped with (one) fridge for preserving perishable foods, allowing groceries from the supermarket to be received, which requires a larger volume than that which is required for the majority of online purchases, and once the order is received, the cabinet is removed and stored inside the house.
  • By being foldable, it takes up very little space and is therefore able to be stored behind a door or any other practical place.
  • The cabinet preferably comprises wheels, generally at least three wheels, which allow it to be moved when not attached to the external element, given that they are configured to slide the cabinet over the ground on which it rests. These wheels can be connected to a cabinet element chosen from the following elements: an end part of the basic structure, a lower end part of the sides, the base and any combination of these elements. The cabinet is preferably equipped with four wheels, although it can have three or more than four, which makes it very comfortable to move the shopping items to the desired location in the house, which is usually the kitchen, fridge, pantry, etc.
  • On delivery days, it is placed on the outside of the door for entering a residence, or another door that is not the main one, to receive the delivery, and fastened to the ground, to the door frame or to the door, by means of the corresponding mechanism, which prevents the cabinet from moving or being stolen, unless violent means are used.
  • It is equipped with a manually- and electronically-opening lock, such that a delivery person opens it using a previously provided code.

[0007] Essentially, the cabinet object of the present invention as described in claim 1 comprises the following parts: a basic structure that forms a back or rear part of the cabinet, a floor or base, a ceiling, sides (at least two), at least one access door for accessing the inside of the cabinet (although there may be more than one, preferably two), a door lock configured to limit and lock the opening of the door of the cabinet, and a fastening device, such as one or two upper and lower bolts (with the corresponding locking lock thereof), configured to attach and anchor said cabinet to an external element, preventing the movement of the cabinet with respect to said external element.

[0008] The basic structure, the sides, the ceiling and the base form an internal storage cavity of the cabinet that is accessible through the door, in which the orders are stored and from where the orders are collected, said internal cavity of the cabinet possibly including refrigeration means for perishable products, such as a fridge. The sides of the cabinet, as well as the ceiling and the base, are joined to the basic structure that forms the back or rear part of the cabinet by means of joints chosen from hinged joints (foldable, such that the cabinet is foldable) or rigid joints (the cabinet cannot be folded). The at least one door is also hingedly connected to one side of the cabinet.

[0009] In turn, the fastening device is attached to an external element chosen from a) a rigid structure of a building or b) a building door. A rigid structure of a building is to be understood as an immobile part of the building that acts as a structural or enclosing component, and thus, in the present invention, it can be chosen from a.1) a ground on which the cabinet rests or a.2) a door frame. The fastening apparatus is chosen from:
  • fastening means which, in turn, comprise at least one bolt installed in the basic structure, assembled to a socket, which has the shape of a bushing, embedded in the rigid structure; wherein the bolt is configured to be assembled and disassembled from the socket, anchoring and unanchoring the cabinet with respect to the external element; or
  • a fastening device, configured to anchor the cabinet to the door of the building.

[0010] In a third embodiment, the fastening apparatus may have both fastening means and a fastening device.

[0011] In the most preferred case of all, the cabinet is able to be anchored to the external element by means of the fastening apparatus in front of a door opening of a building, wherein said cabinet comprises a cross-section equal to or greater than said door opening.

[0012] As can be seen, in the present specification the terms "fastening apparatus", "fastening means" and "fastening device" are used, which are not analogous, thus, "fastening apparatus" is understood as any system of those defined to fasten the cabinet to the external element, i.e., one that makes use of bolts and sockets as well as one that makes use of the fastening device to connect the cabinet to a door of a building, whereas "fastening means" is understood as "fastening devices" comprising bolts and sockets, and "fastening device" is understood as the mechanism configured to be attached directly to the door, i.e., by means of a knob hook.

[0013] In reference to hinged or hinged-shaped joints, it must be understood that elements connected in this manner can rotate, one with respect to the other, only with respect to an axis defined by the joint between said elements. In other words, the joint can be a hinge or any other mechanism that allows said rotation with respect to a single axis. In the most preferred case of all, the hinged joint is a hinge, although these terms are not interchangeable and other means configured for this purpose may be used. These joints allow the parts of the cabinet to be folded and unfolded on the basic structure thereof. Alternatively, the cabinet parts may be rigidly joined such that they configure a rigid (i.e. non-foldable) cabinet.

[0014] In a preferred case, the cabinet only comprises two access doors for accessing to the internal storage cavity of the cabinet. In turn, there may be different types of door locks, although in general it can be chosen from a group consisting of: a mechanical lock, an electronic lock, and a mechanical and electronic lock. In one particular embodiment of the invention, the lock is mechanical and electronic. The door lock may be assembled to the ceiling of the cabinet and be configured to be unlocked by means of a code.

[0015] In a particular and preferred manner, the cabinet object of the present invention comprises the following main parts: the back or rear part, which constitutes a basic structure with wheels, to which the rest of the cabinet parts are fastened; the base of the cabinet, which is fastened to the basic structure by means of hinges; the sides of the cabinet that have one or more wheels on each side, said sides being fastened by means of hinges to the basic structure of the cabinet; the cabinet doors, which are fastened by means of hinges to the sides of the cabinet; the ceiling of the cabinet that is fastened by means of hinges to the basic structure; a door lock, which can be mechanical and/or electronic and which is preferably housed in the cabinet ceiling; one or two locking bolts (with corresponding bolt locking lock thereof) that fasten the cabinet to the ground on which said cabinet rests, inserting each (lower) bolt in a socket that is embedded in the ground of the house where the cabinet is left for a delivery person to deposit the order. Each socket is a bushing that is embedded in the ground, in which the (bottom) end of the bolt is inserted, which has a protuberance (where the bushing fits) and the bushing has a box wherein the protuberance and the cylinder of the bolt are housed, which fastens the cabinet, and by means of a small rotation the bolt is locked. In the option of fastening the cabinet to the door frame, two housings are installed in the door frame, one for the support point and another to house the bolt, and the cabinet is equipped with a bolt and a support point. In the option of fastening the cabinet to the door of a house and not to the ground or to the door frame, a cabinet fastening device is installed on the door.

[0016] The rear part of the cabinet constitutes the basic structure with respect to which the rest of the elements making up the cabinet are fastened and folded. This rear part, also called the back of the cabinet, is preferably rectangular with a small perimeter frame. The sides and the ceiling are fastened to this frame, and the base is preferably fastened directly to the back of the cabinet. The lower part of the frame has two or more wheels which, along with the wheels on the sides, form the support points of the cabinet on the ground on which it rests. Also, the locking bolts are fastened to the vertical sides of this frame with the bolt locking lock thereof, which fasten the cabinet to the ground. In the case of fastening the cabinet to the frame of the door, the bolt used and the support point are installed at the rear part of said back of the cabinet. In the case that the cabinet is fastened to the door for entering a residence, a socket is arranged on the external part of this back, which is vertically and horizontally adjustable, where the fastening device that has been installed on the door of the residence to fasten the cabinet is hooked. Instead of this socket, a viable alternative is an opening which is vertically and horizontally adjustable, made directly in the back of the cabinet.

[0017] The two sides of the cabinet are fastened by hinges to the basic structure that forms the rear part of the cabinet. These sides each have one or more wheels at the end opposite to the back of the cabinet, such that these wheels can fold or unfold, along with the sides and form part of the ground support points of the cabinet.

[0018] The doors are each attached to the corresponding side thereof by means of hinges, which allow them to fold against the side and then against the back of the cabinet, along with the sides. The doors also have their locking mechanism (door lock).

[0019] The base of the cabinet is attached to the basic structure by means of hinges that allow it to fold against the back of the cabinet. When it is unfolded, the base on the part opposite the hinges rests on the wheels which are on the sides so that the weight of that part of the base of the cabinet rests directly on the wheels that are fastened to the sides.

[0020] The cabinet ceiling is fastened to the top part of the basic structure by means of hinges that allow it to fold, like the rest of the mobile elements, against the basic structure. The door lock, which can be manual and/or electronic, as well as the batteries and everything required to control the opening and closing of the cabinet doors, is housed in the ceiling (this lock allowing a delivery person to open the cabinet to leave the order and close it).

[0021] The locking bolts that fasten the cabinet to the ground, along with the lock that locks the bolts, are arranged in the basic structure, preferably in the two corners (the two corners thereof) and on the outside of the basic structure. These locking bolts, on the end that is inserted into the socket, have a protuberance which fits when each locking bolt is inserted into each socket, and by means of a small rotation, the bolt is locked. The bolts can also have a thread instead of the protuberance, and when threading it in the socket the bolt is also locked.

[0022] The sockets of the locks, which are embedded in the ground where the cabinet is going to be placed, have a recess inside wherein the protuberance of the lock is housed, which, when rotated, locks the lock. They can also have a thread to screw in the locking bolt and leave it locked.

[0023] The bolt and the support point that fasten the cabinet to the door frame are arranged at the rear part of the back or basic structure and two housings are installed in the door frame, one for the support point and the other for the bolt.

[0024] The fastening device that fastens the cabinet to the door of the residence consists of:
  • a cable gland with an internal and external thread, with the corresponding tightening nut thereof. This cable gland is preferably placed by replacing the door handle knob, taking advantage of the existing bore so that it goes through the door, and the tightening nut is arranged on the inside of the door. This cable gland remains fixed in the door and the rest of the fastening device of the cabinet is assembled to the cable gland.
  • a cabinet fastener, which is flat with an oval shape and which functions as a doorknob when the cabinet is not there. This fastener can have many different shapes to fulfill the same purpose, which is to fasten the cabinet and function as a door handle.
  • a peg with an external male thread, on one end of which the cabinet fastener is assembled, attached by means of welding, glue or mechanically, and screwed on the other end, in the cable gland, from the outside of the door, so that it passes through to the inside of the house. The cabinet fastener and peg form the hook which is also called the knob hook. At the end of the interior of the house the positioner of the knob hook is assembled.
  • a socket of the positioning stud. This socket is in the shape of a flat washer, with two bores in which the positioning stud is housed, and has, on one of the faces, two small punches which, when pressed against the door, are nailed into the wood of the door to prevent it from moving from the first position, and it is arranged on the inside of the door, between the door and the nut of the cable gland.
  • a hook positioner, the function of which is to fasten and release the cabinet, and is a flat disc with a bore in the centre of the disc. This bore is threaded, and an extension is added, which is also threaded and which is welded or glued to the disc, forming a single piece with the disc. This extension has two threaded bores which, by means of two pins, allow the position of the hook positioner to be fixed, locking the stud thread, and on the front part of the disc there are two threaded bores to fasten the casing of the positioner controller. The positioning stud of the fastener is installed in the upper part of the disc.
  • a casing in the shape of a doorknob, which conceals the hook positioner mechanism and also functions as a controller to fasten and release the cabinet.

However, the fastening system can consist of a fastening device that is arranged on the door where the cabinet is to be placed, and a perforation is made in the basic structure of the modular cabinet that allows the knob hook of the fastening device arranged on the door where the cabinet is left to be inserted inside the modular cabinet.

[0054] Of all the embodiments mentioned, the combination of some of them is possible, as indicated below:
A foldable cabinet can also be a demountable and/or modular cabinet, i.e., it is not necessary for the cabinet to be rigid or to have rigid joints between the side walls, ceiling and base with the basic structure, such that they can be assembled and disassembled, said joints being able to be hinged. In the same way, a module made up of a basic structure, two sides and a door, which can be assembled to another module as well as to a ceiling or to a base, can have hinged joints, allowing the cabinet made up of one or more modules to fold with respect to the one or more basic structures it comprises.

[0055] Moreover, the combination of the different fastening devices defined is also possible. In other words, a cabinet can comprise fastening means based on bolts that can be assembled to sockets, said bolts being located in the internal cavity of the cabinet, and, in the same embodiment, comprise bolts connected to the basic structure, on the outside of said cabinet. In addition, it is also possible for the cabinet to have bolts that can be assembled to the sockets by means of protuberances and other bolts that can be assembled to other sockets by means of threading. These assemblies by means of protuberances or by threading are also compatible with the embodiment of smooth sockets, configured to be anchored to smooth bolts located in door frames and having the fastening device that allows the cabinet to be attached to a building door. In other words, the cabinet can have more than one fastening means so that the attaching or anchoring of said cabinet to the external element is as sturdy as possible.

[0056] The basic steps of a method for using the delivery receiving cabinet would be the following:
The cabinet for depositing and receiving orders object of the present invention comprises:
  1. 1. a cabinet wherein a delivery person deposits the product or products purchased;
  2. 2. fastening means that preferably fasten the cabinet to the ground, to the door frame or to the door for entering a residence on the outside of said door, or to any other door where the cabinet is to be arranged, always on the outside of the house or premises, so that a delivery person does not need to enter the inside of the house to leave the order.

Basic steps:

[0057]
  • Unfolding the cabinet, if it is stored and folded, in the case that it is the foldable cabinet embodiment; if the cabinet is demountable, it would have to be assembled; if the cabinet is made up of folding modules, it would have to be assembled; and, in the case of the non-demountable model, the cabinet would simply be taken from the place where it is stored.
  • Arranging it in front of the door on the outside of the chosen door, so that the order can be left, and fastening it to the ground, to the door frame, or to the door, according to the modality that we have chosen, by means of the corresponding fastening lock device for each case.
  • Entering in the telephone application the secret code provided to a delivery person, so that he or she can open the cabinet.
  • The delivery person opens the cabinet and leaves the order and, once finished, they close the cabinet.
  • When we have returned home, after the order has been left, we release the cabinet from the fastening device and take it with us to store the items.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

[0060] In light of the aforementioned figures, and in accordance with the adopted numbering, one may observe therein a preferred exemplary embodiment of the invention, which comprises the parts and elements indicated in detail below.

[0061] Thus, and as can be seen in figures 1 to 5 as well as 6 and 7, a possible preferred embodiment of the cabinet (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4) for depositing and receiving orders is a foldable cabinet (1.1) and it is preferably arranged in front of a door to a residence, such that the foldable cabinet (1.1) is fastened to the ground (and/or to the residence door) using fastening means (7, 11), specifically by means of two locking bolts (7.1, 7.2), so that each bolt (7.1, 7.2) is inserted into the socket (11.1, 11.2) thereof and locked by the bolt locking lock (10). The access doors (4) for accessing to the inside of the foldable cabinet (1.1) are locked with the electronic and mechanical door lock (9) that a delivery person opens by means of a code to deposit the order. In this way, the foldable cabinet (1.1) of the invention comprises a basic structure (2), which forms the back of the cabinet and has wheels (8) secured to the same, sides (3) that are fastened by means of hinges to the basic structure (2) and that also have wheels (8), a base (6) that is fastened by means of hinges to the basic structure (2), doors (4) that are fastened by means of hinges to the sides (3), a ceiling (5) that is fastened by means of hinges to the basic structure (2) and has an electronic door lock (9) that is activated by means of a code, and a mechanical door lock, which is activated by a key, through which the doors (4) are locked, and fastening means (7, 11). These fastening means (7, 11) secure the basic structure (2) to the ground on which the cabinet (11.1) rests by means of locking bolts (7.1, 7.2), such that said bolts (7.1, 7.2) are connected at a lower end in sockets (11.1, 11.2) that are embedded in the ground, while, at an upper end, they can either be locked by means of a bolt locking lock (10), located externally on the basic structure (2) of the cabinet (1.1), (figures 1A to 4), or they can be housed inside the foldable cabinet (11.1) at different heights on the surface of the basic structure (2), (figures 6A to 7). All this basically comprises the following elements:
  • A basic structure (2) with two wheels, also called back of the cabinet (because it makes up the back thereof), from which the rest of the elements that make up the cabinet (1.1) fold.
  • Two sides (3) that are fastened, by means of hinges, to the basic structure (2) and at the end opposite the hinges there is a wheel (8) on each side.
  • A base (6) that is fastened by means of hinges to the basic structure and which, when unfolded, rests on the wheels (8) that are on the sides (3) of the cabinet (1.1).
  • Two doors (4) that are fastened to the sides (3) by means of hinges.
  • A ceiling (5) that is fastened by means of hinges to the basic structure (2) wherein the electronic and mechanical door lock (9) that locks the doors (4) is preferably installed.
  • A door lock (9) that is preferably installed on the ceiling (5) of the cabinet (1.1) and allows the access doors (4) for accessing the inside of the cabinet (1.1) to be locked and unlocked with a key or by means of a code that is provided to a delivery person for opening the cabinet (1.1) and depositing the order.
  • Fastening means (7, 11) from the cabinet (1.1) to the ground, where it is placed for delivering and receiving the order, consisting of two locking bolts (7.1, 7.2), which are installed on the basic structure (2) on the outside of the cabinet (1.1), wherein said bolts (7.1, 7.2) are inserted into a socket (11.1, 11.2) that is embedded in the ground, as shown in figures 4A and 4B.
