PROCESS FOR PREPARING ELECTRON-DEFICIENT OLEFIN MONOMERS |
(57) The present invention relates to a process for preparing electron-deficient olefin
monomers. The process is a direct synthesis of electron-deficient monomers by catalysing
a reaction between an active methylene compound and a mixture of a source of formaldehyde
and a carboxylic acid anhydride, or between an active methylene compound and an acylal,
wherein the catalyst system employed is acid based. The products obtained are reactive
monomers of high purity, which find application in the field of fast curing adhesives.
