Field of the invention
[0001] The invention relates to a storage box configured to receive a partition interior.
The invention also relates to a kit of blanks configured to be assembled into a storage
box. The invention also relates to a method of erecting a storage box with a partition
interior.
Technical background
[0002] When designing a package, such as a storage box, it is often desirous to take into
account a number of different design criteria. The package should e.g., often be designed
such that it makes efficient use of the material, is easy to transport to the point
of use, is easy to prepare for use, and provides a strong structure. It is often desirable
that it is strong during handling and stable in an erected state. Moreover, the package
should often be provided with a partition interior.
[0003] Packages made from cardboard are beneficial since they do not take up much space
before they are erected, during for example transport.
[0004] However, when designing a foldable package having a partition interior for transport
of items, it is often difficult to make the package and the partition interior capable
of remaining mechanically stable over a sufficient time period.
[0005] There exist numerous attempts to address the above design criteria in connection
to designing a package of cardboard material.
[0006] US 2016/185482 A1 discloses a partitioned container containing a plurality of individual compartments
formed from mated slotted transverse panels and slotted longitudinal panels wherein
said slotted panels are provided with folding tabs at each end of the respective slotted
panel. The folding tabs secured, such as by adhesive or tape, to the walls of the
container thereby enhancing the mechanical stability of the partition interior.
[0007] However, it may be noted that the prior art document does not adequately address
the set of design criteria that the package should make efficient use of the material,
be easy to transport to the point of use, be easy to prepare for use, be closed and
locked in a simple manner in the erected state and provide a strong structure, be
strong during handling and stable in an erected state, whilst also be configured to
receive a partition interior, and with a minimum use of adhesive.
Summary of invention
[0008] It is an object of the invention to provide a solution addressing at least some of
the design criteria that the storage box should make efficient use of the material,
be easy to transport to the point of use, be easy to prepare for use, and provide
a strong structure. It is especially an object of the invention to provide a storage
box which is strong during handling and stable in an erected state, and which storage
box entails a partition interior.
[0009] This object has been achieved by a storage box configured to receive a partition
interior, the storage box comprising:
a rear wall panel,
a bottom wall panel being foldably connected to a first longitudinally extending edge
of the rear wall panel,
a top wall panel being foldably connected to a second longitudinally extending edge
of the rear wall panel,
a first and a second opposing end wall panel being foldably connected to a respective
one of two opposing transversally extending edges of the rear wall panel; and,
wherein each of the bottom and top wall panels and/or each of the first and a second
opposing end wall panels is provided with a plurality of abutment tabs, wherein neighbouring
abutment tabs among the plurality of abutment tabs of respective panel are separated
from each other by a slit formed between neighbouring abutment tabs, wherein the abutment
tabs are configured to be folded inwardly from a perimeter of a front opening of the
storage box and thereby provide a plurality of inwardly extending slits each being
formed between neighbouring abutment tabs being folded inwardly, the slits allowing
a respective one of two opposing edge portions of a respective partition part of the
partition interior to be clamped between the abutment tabs and the associated wall
panel of the storage box such that the respective partition part becomes positioned
by the respective edge portion of the respective partition part extending through
the respective slit formed between neighbouring abutment tabs. The edge portion typically
refers to a strip of material along the edge.
[0010] An advantage with this design is that there is provided a storage box, configured
to receive a partition interior, capable of remaining mechanically strong in an erected
state during handling. The bottom wall panel, the top wall panel and the opposing
end wall panels are provided with a plurality of abutment tabs which may be folded
inwardly from the perimeter of the opening whereby the respective partition parts
of the partition interior is essentially locked in place by the inwardly folded abutment
tabs thereby rendering the storage box mechanically strong during handling. The storage
box and the partition interior will remain mechanically strong during handling whilst
storing objects, as movements of the partition parts of the partition interior are
minimized. Thereby, the risk of mechanical deformation of the partition interior and
damage to the goods is reduced. By locking in place the partition interior collapsing
during handling is counteracted and the mechanical structure of the storage box is
improved. Thereby, the structure of the storage box may withstand exterior forces
as the edge portions of the partition parts extending through the slits provide internal
support points and by locking said edge portions in place said support points remain
in the intended position. By clamping a respective one of two opposing edge portions
of a respective partition part between the inwardly folded neighbouring abutment tabs,
an associated wall panel and the respective slit formed between the neighbouring abutment
tabs, there is provided limitations in lateral movements of the respective edge portion
of the respective partition part. It may be noted that lateral movements refer to
movements along the surface of the associated wall panel. It may also be noted that
an edge portion of a partition part refers to a strip-shaped portion of material extending
along the edges of said partition part. The actual contact between the abutment tabs
and the edge portion of the partition part will typically be along a strip-shaped
portion having a width corresponding to the material thickness of the abutment tabs.
The actual contact will typically be within a material thickness of the abutment tabs
as measured from the fold line between the portion of the partition part extending
along the wall panel and the portion of the partition part extending transverse to
the wall panel, as seen in the direction of the portion of the partition part extending
transverse to the wall panel. It may further be noted that "an associated wall panel"
as used herein may refer to the first end wall panel, the second end wall panel, the
top wall panel, or the bottom wall panel, to which the specific abutment tabs are
foldably connected to.
[0011] An advantage with this design is that there is provided a possibility of varying
the amount of partition parts of the partition interior thereby making it possible
to store objects in the partition interior to suit one's requirements. For instance,
the storage box may comprise one partition part extending from the first end wall
panel to the second end wall panel and being positioned at a respective vertical position
between the bottom wall panel and the top wall panel. This provides the possibility
to store and distribute e.g., objects of similar dimensions akin to that of a respective
one of two compartments formed by said partition part parting the partition interior,
amongst said compartments. It may be that the distance from the first end wall panel
to the second end wall panel is greater than the distance from the top wall panel
to the bottom wall panel in which case aforementioned objects with an elongation corresponding
to the distance between the opposing end wall panels may be conveniently stored at
a vertical position and be firmly fitted in one of the respective compartments. As
such, the storage box make efficient use of material as the amount of storage boxes
used to store objects is reduced to one single storage box comprising at least two
compartments.
[0012] However, the storage box may comprise preferably at least two, more preferably exactly
two, partition parts extending from the first end wall panel to the second end wall
panel and being positioned at a respective vertical position between the bottom wall
panel and the top wall panel. This provides the possibility to store and distribute
e.g., objects of similar dimensions akin to that of a respective one of three compartments
formed by said partition part parting the partition interior, amongst said compartments.
This design provides more structural support for the storage box than had the partition
interior been comprised of one single partition part in that external forces, directed
towards the associated wall panel to which a respective partition part is in contact
with, are distributed more evenly.
[0013] The storage box may also comprise one partition part extending from the bottom wall
panel to the top wall panel and being positioned at a respective longitudinal position
between the side wall panels. This provides the user flexibility to store objects
which would not be possible had the storage box been comprised of a partition part
extending from the first end wall panel to the second end wall panel and being positioned
at a respective vertical position between the bottom wall panel and the top wall panel.
As such, the storage box makes efficient use of material as the amount of storage
boxes used to store objects is reduced to one single storage box given the possibility
of switching a vertically positioned partition part with a longitudinally positioned
partition part, or vice versa, to accommodate objects of different dimensions.
[0014] Similarly, the storage box may also comprise preferably at least two, more preferably
exactly two, partition parts extending from the bottom wall panel to the top wall
panel and being positioned at a respective longitudinal position between the side
wall panels. This design provides more structural support for the storage box than
had the partition interior been comprised of one single partition part in that external
forces, directed towards the associated wall panel to which a respective partition
part is in contact with, are distributed more evenly.
[0015] It may be noted that there may be present several permutations of a set of partition
parts. For example, in one embodiment the storage box may have one vertically positioned
partition part and two longitudinally positioned partition parts. In an other embodiment
it may also have three vertically positioned partition parts and one longitudinally
positioned partition part. In other words, for every integer number of vertically
positioned partitions there may be an arbitrary number of longitudinally positioned
partition parts, or vice versa.
[0016] The respective partition part of the storage box may comprise, at each of the two
opposing edge portions, a first and a second locking tab foldably connected to the
respective edge portion, wherein the first and the second locking tabs are configured
to be positioned and clamped between neighbouring abutment tabs, the associated wall
panel and the edge portion extending through the respective slit formed between neighbouring
abutment tabs.
[0017] An advantage with this design is that the partition interior is locked into place
in all directions, hence being capable of remaining structurally sound in an erected
state during handling. Not only is a respective edge portion of the partition parts
clamped between neighbouring abutment tabs, a respective slit formed between the neighbouring
abutment tabs, and the associated wall panel, but the locking tabs at each of the
opposing edge portions is locked in place by the inwardly folded abutment tabs and
the associated wall panel thereby minimizing medial movements of the respective edge
portion. It may be noted that medial movements refer to movements towards the centre
of the storage box. As such, the foldably connected locking tabs provide further structural
reinforcement making the storage box strong during handling and stable in an erected
state, whilst using no adhesive.
[0018] The respective partition part of the storage box may be formed by folding a first
and a second panel portion relative to each other about a fold line such that the
first and second panel portions together form a double-walled partition part.
[0019] An advantage with this design is that the respective double-walled partition part
provides a thickness capable of withstanding mechanical deformation. By folding a
first panel and a second panel portion about a fold line the increase in thickness
of the partition part is two-fold.
[0020] Another advantage with this design is that the double-walled partition part allows
for foldably connecting a first and a second locking tab at each of the two opposing
edge portions of the respective partition part and thereby allow the respective locking
tab to extend along the complete depth of the storage box. Such a construction would
not be possible had the respective partition fold been a single-walled partition part.
[0021] The first locking tab may be foldably connected to the first panel portion and the
second locking tab may be foldably connected to the second panel portion. An advantage
with this design is that this construction provides symmetry about the fold line such
that the respective edge portion is clamped between the neighbouring abutment tabs
and the associated wall panel on both sides of the edge portion thereby minimizing
medial movements of the edge portion.
[0022] The respective partition part of the storage box may be configured to be oriented
such that the fold line of the respective partition part between the first and second
panel portions is facing outwardly towards the opening of the storage box.
[0023] An advantage with this design is that as the fold line, forming a free edge, faces
outwardly towards the opening of the storage box, the free edge formed by the fold
line is less susceptible to mechanical deformation as opposed to had the fold line
been facing towards the rear of the storage box, in which case two cut free edges
would be facing towards the opening, thereby being more susceptible to mechanical
deformation upon external forces directed towards or along the opening of the storage
box.
[0024] The storage box may comprise at least one horizontally oriented and at least one
vertically oriented partition part, and wherein the respective partition part is provided
with at least one interconnection slit, wherein an interconnection slit of a horizontally
or of a vertically oriented partition part extends from a free outer edge configured
to face rearwardly from the front opening, and wherein an interconnection slit of
a vertically oriented partition part crossing said horizontally oriented part extends
from a free outer edge configured to face forwardly towards the front opening, or
vice versa, whereby the partition parts are configured to be positioned with the interconnection
slits in register and to be moved towards each other thereby allowing the partition
parts to interlock with each other.
[0025] The interconnection of the partition parts further improves the strength of the storage
box.
[0026] An advantage with this design of providing the interconnection using interconnection
slits, is that the interconnecting slits allows for easy mounting of the partition
interior thereby making the storage box easy to prepare for use.
[0027] Another advantage with this design is that the interconnecting slits do not require
use of any adhesive and allows for the partition interior to be quickly mounted and
demounted. By using adhesive to couple the partition parts, said partition parts may
run the risk of being tarnished. Furthermore, any adhesive used on the partition parts
may damage the surface of the partition parts during demounting of the partition interior
in that the surface might be ripped off when pulling apart the partition parts, and
consequently might even lead to deformation of the partition parts if the adhesive
is adhered to the surface too strongly. However, with this design, interconnection
slits are used to interlock the partition parts hence the risk of damaging the partition
parts during demounting of the partition parts is minimized and allows for multiple
uses of the partition parts thereby making efficient use of material.
[0028] The interconnection slits of the storage box may extend with an angle with respect
to the fold line, preferably transverse to the fold line, between the first and the
second panel portion wherein an interconnection slit of one of the partition parts
extends from a respective free outer edge of the first panel portion and of the second
panel portion towards the fold line, and wherein an interconnection slit of the other
partition part extends from the fold line towards a respective free outer edge of
the first panel portion and of the second panel portion.
[0029] An advantage with this latter design is that the interconnection slits of the storage
box allow the partition parts to be interconnected such that the fold lines of both
the horizontal and vertical partition parts may face outwardly towards the opening
of the storage box.
[0030] The storage box may be formed of a paper-based material.
[0031] An advantage with this design is that paper-based material is recyclable hence making
efficient use of the material. Paper-based material are also renewable and sustainable.
[0032] Another advantage with this design that that paper-based material are usually lightweight
making the storage box easy to transport to the point of use and easy to prepare for
use. Paper-based material can be moulded into any kind of shape and is easily available.
Paper-based material are rather inexpensive as well. Paper-based material are also
strong enough such that the storage box is mechanically strong during handling and
stable in an erected state.
[0033] The longitudinally extending edges of the rear wall panel may be provided with a
first set of connection tabs and a second set of connection tabs, respectively, the
first set of connection tabs being configured to engage and extend through a first
set of openings of the bottom wall panel, and the second set of connection tabs being
configured to engage and extend through a first set of openings of the top wall panel.
The set of openings are a first set of openings of the top wall panel, but they may
also be referred to as a second set of openings since they are a second set of openings
of the storage box.
[0034] An advantage with this design is that the bottom wall panel and the top wall panel
may be easily connected to the rear wall panel, with no use of adhesive.
[0035] The transversally extending edges of the rear wall panel may be provided with a third
set of connection tabs and a fourth set of connection tabs, respectively, the third
set of connection tabs being configured to engage and extend through a first set of
openings of the first opposing end wall panel, and the fourth set of connection tabs
being configured to engage and extend through a first set of openings of the second
opposing end wall panel. Similarly, as for the second set of openings, the openings
of the respective end wall panel are the first set of openings of respective end wall
panel, but they may also be referred to as a third, and a fourth, respectively set
of openings of the storage box.
[0036] An advantage with this design is that the opposing end wall panels may be easily
connected to the rear wall panel, without any requirement touse any adhesive.
[0037] By providing the rear wall panel with a first, a second, a third and a fourth set
of connection tabs, and providing the opposing end wall panels, the bottom wall panel
and the top wall panel with their own sets of openings, there is provided a storage
box capable of being assembled and disassembled easily. By providing connection tabs
on the edges of the rear wall panel, and corresponding openings on the bottom wall
panel, the top wall panel and the end wall panels, said wall panels are easily connected.
The connection tabs engage and extend through the openings of the associated wall
panels after which the connection tabs extending through said openings are folded
thereby locking in place the associated wall panels. Similarily, when disassembling
the associated wall panels from the rear wall panel, the folded connection tabs are
unfolded after which the associated wall panels are easily pulled apart from the rear
wall panel. The openings are sufficiently small such that when the connection tabs
are being extended through the openings and folded such that the associated wall panels
are locked in place, relative movements of the associated wall panels cause minimal
movements of the connection tabs inside the openings. As such, this design allows
for easy preperation for use whilst using no adhesive. The dimensions of the openings
of the associated wall panels and the locking mechanism of the connection tabs allow
for a storage box with a sturdy foundation.
[0038] The opening and/or the perimeter of the front of the opening of the storage box may
be configured to receive a lid.
[0039] An advantage with this design is that the lid provides a closure to the opening of
the storage box thereby keeping storing objects from falling out. Simultaneously,
it protects the partition interior of the storage box from external forces.
[0040] The above-mentioned object has also been achieved by a kit of blanks configured to
be assembled into a storage box,
wherein the rear wall panel, the bottom wall panel, the top wall panel, the first
end wall panel, and the second end wall panel, may be provided as an integrally formed
major blank, and
wherein the partition part or parts may be provided as a blank or blanks being separate
from, or at least separable from, the major blank.

to the various preferred embodiments have been discussed with reference to the storage
box, and those advantages and also those preferred embodiments are equally applicable
to the kit of blanks. By providing the rear wall panel, the bottom wall panel, the
top wall panel, the first end wall panel, and the second end wall panel as an integrally
formed major blank, it is facilitated to provide a strong storage box.
[0042] The above-mentioned object has also been achieved by a kit of blanks configured to
be assembled into a storage box,
wherein the rear wall panel, the bottom wall panel, the top wall panel, the first
end wall panel, and the second end wall panel, may be provided as separate blanks,
and
wherein the partition part or parts may be provided as a blank or blanks being separate
from, or at least separable from, the blanks forming the rear wall panel, the bottom
wall panel, the top wall panel, the first end wall panel, and the second end wall
panel.
[0043] The advantages of associated with the various features of the storage box according
to the various preferred embodiments have been discussed with reference to the storage
box, and those advantages and also those preferred embodiments are equally applicable
to this kit of blanks. By providing the rear wall panel, the bottom wall panel, the
top wall panel, the first end wall panel, and the second end wall panel, as separate
blanks it is facilitated to provide comparable large storage boxes.
[0044] The above-mentioned object may also be achieved by a method of erecting a storage
box with a partition interior, the method comprising:
folding the the bottom wall panel, the top wall panel, the first end wall panel, and
the second end wall panel, relative to the rear wall panel and thereby forming a storage
box having a front opening,
inserting at least one partition part, and
folding the abutment tabs inwardly such that the respective edge portion of the partition
part becomes clamped between the abutment tabs and the associated wall panel of the
storage box such that the partition part becomes correctly positioned by the respective
edge portion of the partition part extending through the slit formed between neighbouring
abutment tabs.

to the various preferred embodiments have been discussed with reference to the storage
box, and those advantages and also those preferred embodiments are equally applicable
to the method.

example, the package does not need to be oriented such that the first top panel actually
forms the top of the package. The package may be oriented such that the panel labelled

It does not have to be located over the floor panel, but could be positioned under,
on the side of, or in any other way relative to it. However, in the preferred embodiment,
the package will be oriented so that the floor panel faces downward, the top panels
face upward, and the wall panels face outwards from an axis between top and floor.

wall panel, and a first and a second opposing end wall panel, wherein each of the
bottom and top wall panels and/or each of the first and a second opposing end wall
panels is provided with abutment tabs, which are separated from each other by a respective
slit and configured to be folded inwardly from a perimeter of a front opening of the
storage box and thereby provide a plurality of inwardly extending slits allowing a
respective one of two opposing edge portions of a respective partition part of the
partition interior to be clamped between the abutment tabs and the associated wall
panel.

Detailed description of preferred embodiments
[0052] The present invention will now be described more fully hereinafter with reference
to the accompanying drawings, in which currently preferred embodiments of the invention
are shown. This invention may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should
not be construed as only limited to the embodiments set forth herein; rather, these
embodiments are provided for thoroughness and completeness, and allowing the skilled
person to make use of the invention.
[0053] Initially, a plurality of wall panels and a plurality of partition parts will be
described with reference to Fig. 1. Further details about the respective partition
parts will be described with reference to Figs. 2 and 3. Thereafter, the storage box
comprising said wall panels and partition parts will be described in more detail with
reference to Fig.4 and 5. In some preferred embodiments the storage box comprises
a single blank of integrated wall panels. Details thereof will be described with reference
to Figs. 6 and 7.
[0054] Fig .1 is a top view of a set of wall panels 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and partition parts
60, 70. The storage box comprises a rear wall panel 10. A bottom wall panel 20 is
foldably connected to a first longitudinally extending edge 15a of the rear wall panel
10. Additionally, a top wall panel 30 is foldably connected to a second longitudinally
extending edge 15b of the rear wall panel 10. In the disclosed preferred embodiment,
the bottom and top wall panels 20, 30 are identical in structure whereby only one
such panel is shown in Fig. 1. The same reference numerals will in the following be
used for the various sub-parts and other features of the bottom and top wall panels
20, 30 and distinction between the bottom wall panel 20 and the top wall panel 30
will only be made when it is considered to make the description clearer.
[0055] A first end wall panel 40 is foldably connected to a first edge 16a of two opposing
transversally extending edges 16a, 16b of the rear wall panel 10. A second wall panel
50 is foldably connected to a second edge 16b of the two opposing transversally extending
edges 16a, 16b of the rear wall panel 10.. In the disclosed preferred embodiment,
the first and second end wall panels 40, 50 are identical in structure whereby only

respective panel are separated from each other by a slit 26 formed between neighbouring
abutment tabs. Each of the first and second opposing end wall panels 40, 50 is provided
with a plurality of abutment tabs 45. The neighbouring abutment tabs among the plurality
of abutment tabs 45 of respective panel are separated from each other by a slit 46
formed between neighbouring abutment tabs. The abutment tabs 25, 45 are configured
to be folded inwardly from a perimeter of a front opening of the storage box 1 and
thereby a provide plurality of inwardly extending slits 26, 46. Each of the slits
is being formed between the neighbouring abutment tabs being folded inwardly. The
slits 26, 46 allow a respective one of two opposing edge portions of a respective
partition part 60, 70 of the partition interior to be clamped between the abutment
tabs 25, 45 and the associated wall panel of the storage box 1. The associated wall
panel designates the first opposing end wall panel 40, the second opposing end wall
panel 50, the top wall panel 30, and the bottom wall panel 20 to which the specific
abutment tabs 25, 45 are foldably connected to. By doing this, the respective partition
part 60, 70 becomes correctly positioned by the respective edge portion of the respective
partition part 60, 70 extending through the respective slit 26, 46 formed between
neighbouring abutment tabs, as illustrated in Fig. 4. It may be noted that an edge
portion of a partition part 60, 70 refers to a strip of material extending along the
edges of said partition part 60, 70.
[0057] A first longitudinally extending edge 15a of the rear wall panel 10 may be provided
with a first set of connection tabs 11a, 11b, 11c. Similarly, a second, opposing the
first, longitudinally extending edge 15b of the rear wall panel 10 may be provided
with a second set of connection tabs 12a, 12b, 12c. The first set of connection tabs
11a, 11b, 11c may be configured to engage and extend through a first set of openings
21a, 21b, 21c formed in the bottom wall panel 20. Similarly, the second set of connection
tabs 12a, 12b, 12c may be configured to engage and extend through a second set of

and/or second partition parts 60, 70 may be provided with a set of openings 64, 74,
respectively, configured to receive the respective separable bridge 24, 44. As such,
when a respective one of two opposing edge portions of a respective partition part
60, 70 of the partition interior extends between the slits 26, 46 and is clamped between
the abutment tabs 25, 45 and the associated wall panel of the storage box 1, the moveable
bridges 24, 44 may simultaneously be slightly bent to fit and extend into the respective
opening 64, 74 of a respective partition part 60, 70 thereby aiding in keeping the
abutment tabs 25a-c, 45a-c in the intended position. As viewed in Fig. 4, the set
of separable bridges 24, 44 provides a reinforcing structure as the partition interior
is locked in to place more thoroughly given it becomes more difficult to remove said
partition interior without unfolding the abutment tabs first. Moreover, the abutment
tabs 25a-c, 45a-c may not be unfolded as the set of moveable bridges 24, 44 has been
positioned in the openings 64, 74.

1. A storage box (1) configured to receive a partition interior, the storage box (1)
comprising:
a rear wall panel (10);
a bottom wall panel (20) being foldably connected to a first longitudinally extending
edge (15a) of the rear wall panel (10);
a top wall panel (30) being foldably connected to a second longitudinally extending
edge (15b) of the rear wall panel (10);
a first and a second opposing end wall panel (40, 50) being foldably connected to
a respective one of two opposing transversally extending edges (16a, 16b) of the rear
wall panel (10); and,
wherein each of the bottom and top wall panels (20, 30) and/or each of the first and
a second opposing end wall panels (40, 50) is provided with a plurality of abutment
tabs (25, 45), wherein neighbouring abutment tabs among the plurality of abutment
tabs (25, 45) of respective panel are separated from each other by a slit (26, 46)
formed between neighbouring abutment tabs, wherein the abutment tabs (25, 45) are
configured to be folded inwardly from a perimeter of a front opening of the storage
box (1) and thereby provide a plurality of inwardly extending slits (26, 46), each
being formed between neighbouring abutment tabs being folded inwardly, the slits (26,
46) allowing a respective one of two opposing edge portions of a respective partition
part (60, 70) of the partition interior to be clamped between the abutment tabs (25,

the respective partition part (60, 70) becomes correctly positioned by the respective
edge portion of the respective partition part (60, 70) extending through the respective

2. The storage box according to claim 1, further comprising at least one, preferably
at least two, more preferably two, partition parts (60, 70) extending from the first
end wall panel (40) to the second end wall panel (50) and being positioned at a respective
vertical position between the bottom wall (20) panel and the top wall panel (30).
3. The storage box according to any of the preceding claims, further comprising at least
one, preferably at least two, more preferably two, partition parts (60, 70) extending
from the bottom wall panel (20) to the top wall panel (30) and being positioned at
a respective longitudinal position between the side wall panels (40, 50).
4. The storage box according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the respective partition
part (60, 70) comprises, at each of the two opposing edge portions, a first and a
second locking tab (61, 62, 71, 72) foldably connected to the respective edge portion,
wherein the first and the second locking tabs (61, 62, 71, 72) are configured to be
positioned and clamped between neighbouring abutment tabs, the associated wall panel
and the edge portion extending through the respective slit (26, 46) formed between
neighbouring abutment tabs.
5. The storage box according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the respective partition
part (60, 70) is formed by folding a first and a second panel portion (63, 73) relative
to each other about a fold line (65, 75) such that the first and second panel portions
(63, 73) together form a double-walled partition part.
6. The storage box according to claim 4 and 5, wherein the first locking tab (61a, 62a,
71a, 72a) is foldably connected to the first panel portion (63a, 73a) and the second
locking tab (61b, 62b, 71b, 72b) is foldably connected to the second panel portion
(63b, 73b).
7. The storage box according to claim 5 or 6, wherein the respective partition part (60,
70) is configured to be oriented such that the fold line (65, 75) of the respective
partition part (60, 70) between the first and second panel portions (63, 73) is facing
outwardly towards the opening of the storage box (1).
8. The storage box according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the storage box
(1) further comprises at least one horizontally oriented and at least one vertically
oriented partition part (60, 70), and wherein the respective partition part (60, 70)
is provided with at least one interconnection slit (66, 76) wherein an interconnection
slit (66, 76) of a horizontally or of a vertically oriented partition part (60, 70)
extends from a free outer edge configured to face rearwardly from the front opening,
and wherein an interconnection slit (66, 76) of a vertically oriented partition part
(60, 70) crossing said horizontally oriented part (60, 70) extends from a free outer
edge configured to face forwardly towards the front opening, or vice versa whereby
the partition parts (60, 70) are configured to be positioned with the interconnection
slits (66, 76) in register and to be moved towards each other thereby allowing the
partition parts (60, 70) to interlock with each other.
9. The storage box according to claim 5 and 8, wherein the respective interconnection
slit (66, 76) extends with an angle with respect to the fold line (65, 75), preferably
transverse to the fold line (65, 75), between the first and the second panel portion
(63, 73), wherein an interconnection slit (66) of one of the partition parts (60)
extends from a respective free outer edge of the first panel portion (63a) and of
the second panel portion (63b) towards the fold line (65), and wherein an interconnection
slit (76) of the other partition part (70) extends from the fold line (75) towards
a respective free outer edge of the first panel portion (73a) and of the second panel
portion (73b).
10. The storage box according to any of the preceeding claims,
wherein the storage box (1) is formed of a paper-based material.
11. The storage box according to any of the preceeding claims,
wherein the longitudinally extending edges (15a, 15b) of the rear wall panel (10)
are provided with a first set of connection tabs (11a, 11b, 11c) and a second set
of connection tabs (12a, 12b, 12c), respectively, the first set of connection tabs
(11a, 11b, 11c) being configured to engage and extend through a first set of openings
(21a, 21b, 21c) of the bottom wall panel (20), and the second set of connection tabs
(12a, 12b, 12c) being configured to engage and extend through a first set of openings
(21a, 21b, 21c) of the top wall panel (30).
12. The storage box according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the transversally
extending edges (16a, 16b) of the rear wall panel (10) are provided with a third set
of connection tabs (13a, 13b, 13c) and a fourth set of connection tabs (14a, 14b,
14c), respectively, the third set of connection tabs (13a, 13b, 13c) being configured
to engage and extend through a first set of openings (43a, 43b, 43c) of the first
opposing end wall panel (40), and the fourth set of connection tabs (14a, 14b, 14c)
being configured to engage and extend through a first set of openings (43a, 43b, 43c)
of the second opposing end wall panel (50).
13. The storage box according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the opening and/or
the perimeter of the front of the opening of the storage box (1) is configured to
receive a lid.
14. A kit of blanks configured to be assembled into a storage box according to any one
of claims 1-13,
wherein the rear wall panel (10), the bottom wall panel (20), the top wall panel (30),
the first end wall panel (40), and the second end wall panel (50), are provided as
an integrally formed major blank (2,3), and
wherein the partition part or parts (60, 70) are provided as a blank or blanks being
separate from, or at least separable from, the major blank (2,3).
15. A kit of blanks configured to be assembled into a storage box according to any one
of claims 1-13,
wherein the rear wall panel (10), the bottom wall panel (20), the top wall panel (30),
the first end wall panel (40), and the second end wall panel (50), are provided as
separate blanks, and
wherein the partition part or parts (60, 70) are provided as a blank or blanks being
separate from, or at least separable from, the blanks forming the rear wall panel
(10), the bottom wall panel (20), the top wall panel (30), the first end wall panel
(40), and the second end wall panel (50).16. Method of erecting a storage box with
a partition interior, the method comprising:
folding the bottom wall panel (20), the top wall panel (30), the first end wall panel
(40), and the second end wall panel (50), relative to the rear wall panel (10) and
thereby forming a storage box (1) having a front opening,
inserting at least one partition part (60, 70), and
folding the abutment tabs (25, 45) inwardly such that the respective edge portion
of the partition part (60, 70) becomes clamped between the abutment tabs (25, 45)
and the associated wall panel (10, 20, 30, 40, 50) of the storage box (1) such that
the partition part (60, 70) becomes correctly positioned by the respective edge portion

16. Method of erecting a storage box (1) with a partition interior, the method comprising:
folding a bottom wall panel (20), a top wall panel (30), a first end wall panel (40),
and a second end wall panel (50), relative to a rear wall panel (10), and thereby
form a storage box (1) having a front opening,
inserting at least one partition part (60, 70), and
folding abutment tabs (25a, 25b, 25c, 45a, 45b, 45c) of the respective bottom wall
panel (20), top wall panel (30), first end wall panel (40), or second end wall panel
(60), inwardly such that a respective edge portion of the partition part (60, 70)
becomes clamped between the respective abutment tab (25a, 25b, 25c, 45a, 45b, 45c)
and the associated wall panel (20, 30, 40, 50) of the storage box (1) such that the
partition part (60, 70) becomes correctly positioned by the respective edge portion
of the partition part (60, 70) extending through the slit formed between neighbouring
abutment tabs ((25a, 25b, 25c, 45a, 45b, 45c).
