(57) According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a core board for a door, the core board having a multi-layered structure and comprising: a first wood-based panel; a second wood-based panel; between the first wood-based panel and the second wood-based panel, a thermally insulating layer comprising or consisting of a wood-based material, wherein the density of the thermally insulating layer is less than the density of the first and the second wood-based panels, wherein the core board has a U value of less than 1.8 W/m2K.
