(54) METHOD FOR PROVIDING A PATIENT SPECIFIC GLENOID GUIDE

(57) The patient specific glenoid guide (100) provided by the method comprising a guide feature (110) having an axis (X-X), at least three arms (120) having a first end coupled with the guide feature and a second end disposed away from the guide feature, and at least three peripheral pegs (130), each peripheral peg extending from the second end of a corresponding arm and comprising an engagement surface (134) configured to engage a patient's scapula. The method comprises:
- generating a 3D model of a patient's scapula from medical imaging data of the patient's scapula,
- displaying the generated 3D model in a visualization environment,
- selecting and placing in position a desired glenoid implant in the visualization environment of the generated 3D model so as to choose a position and orientation for the axis (X-X) of the patient specific glenoid guide (100) and to determine a location for the at least three peripheral pegs (130) of the patient specific guide (100), and
- fabricating the patient specific glenoid guide (100) having the chosen position and orientation of the axis (X-X) and the determined location of the at least three peripheral pegs (130).
