<heading id="h0005">Summary of Invention</heading>
<heading id="h0006">Technical Problem</heading>
<p id="p0005" num="0005">The present invention has been made to further improve security and enhance<!-- EPO <DP n="2"> --> convenience of device introduction at the same time, by combining a human detection sensor and an authentication device in an automatic door system, for example.</p>
<heading id="h0007">Solution to Problem</heading>
<p id="p0006" num="0006">[1] Specifically, a human detection sensor according to the present invention includes: a sensor unit that detects a passerby who has entered within a predetermined area; and a processing unit that receives and processes an authentication result signal from an authentication device that authenticates a passage authority of the passerby detected by the sensor unit, in which the processing unit is configured to be capable of receiving the authentication result signals from a plurality of types of authentication devices that perform authentication in authentication modes different from each other, and outputs a predetermined signal corresponding to contents of the authentication result signal from preset one or more of the authentication devices.</p>
<p id="p0007" num="0007">The human detection sensor configured as described above can be used as a hub, and authentication devices can be introduced into various systems. Thus, it is possible to improve the security levels of the systems by combining the human detection sensor and the authentication devices.</p>
<p id="p0008" num="0008">As the human detection sensor has a function of communicating with authentication devices and a function of processing authentication result signals, the convenience at the time of introduction of devices into various systems is enhanced.</p>
<p id="p0009" num="0009">For example, in a case where a new authentication device is introduced into an automatic door system into which the human detection sensor is incorporated, and the control device for the automatic door does not have a function of communicating with authentication devices, the authentication device can be introduced without any change in the control device.</p>
<p id="p0010" num="0010">For example, in a case where this human detection sensor is introduced into an automatic door system into which an authentication device is incorporated in advance, and the<!-- EPO <DP n="3"> --> control device for the automatic door does not have a function of processing a detection result from the human detection sensor and an authentication result from the authentication device together, the human detection sensor can be introduced without any change in the control device.</p>
<p id="p0011" num="0011">The human detection sensor can communicate with different types of authentication devices. Thus, when the human detection sensor is introduced into an automatic door system into which authentication devices are incorporated in advance, it is possible to use the existing authentication devices incorporated into the system without any change, and flexibly cope with addition of an authentication device and a change in an authentication device.</p>
<p id="p0012" num="0012">A plurality of types of authentication devices can be incorporated into various systems, and processes in accordance with the contents of authentication result signals from some or all of the authentication devices can be performed. Thus, for example, it is possible to perform fine-tuned operations, such as classifying passage authorities into multiple levels necessary for passage so that authentication is performed by a mobile terminal with priority given to quick entry and exit in the daytime, fingerprint authentication with a low impersonation risk is performed to improve security at night, and authentication is not performed with priority given to convenience at the time of an event. Security can be maximized with the use of all of the incorporated authentication devices, and the balance between security and convenience can be achieved with the use of one or some of these authentication devices.</p>
<p id="p0013" num="0013">[2] The predetermined signal is input to a door control device that switches a door between an openable state and a closed state.</p>
<p id="p0014" num="0014">As the human detection sensor according to the present invention is used as a door sensor in this manner, the security level of the door system can be adjusted.</p>
<p id="p0015" num="0015">[3] The processing unit outputs the predetermined signal in accordance with the<!-- EPO <DP n="4"> --> authentication result signal received by the processing unit within a predetermined time from detection of the passerby by the sensor unit.</p>
<p id="p0016" num="0016">In this case, in a system into which the human detection sensor is incorporated, a process according to the time taken from detection of the passerby to authentication can be performed. For example, a passerby who has not performed authentication immediately after entering the predetermined area can be regarded as not having the intention to enter, and the automatic door can be prevented from opening for the passerby.</p>
<p id="p0017" num="0017">[4] The processing unit converts the authentication result signals in formats different from each other into signals in a common format. In this manner, it is possible to cope with the difference in format between the authentication result signals corresponding to authentication devices simply by connecting to the door sensor, and it is possible to greatly reduce the man-hours and time accompanied by introduction of and change in an authentication device.</p>
<p id="p0018" num="0018">[5] A communication unit that communicates with a mobile terminal possessed by the passerby detected by the sensor unit on the basis of the predetermined signal is further included.</p>
<p id="p0019" num="0019">In this manner, the human detection sensor can be turned into a more multifunctional sensor, and play a plurality of roles when adopted in various systems, which is convenient.</p>
<p id="p0020" num="0020">It is also possible to transmit information about the necessary passage authority to the passerby. It is also possible to transmit feedback regarding the authentication result received by the processing unit to the passerby.</p>
<p id="p0021" num="0021">[6] Further, an automatic door system according to the present invention includes the human detection sensor.<!-- EPO <DP n="5"> --></p>
<heading id="h0008">Advantageous Effects of Invention</heading>
<p id="p0022" num="0022">According to the present invention configured as above, in various systems into which a human detection sensor is incorporated, it is possible to further improve security, and at the same time, enhance convenience of device introduction, by combining the human detection sensor and an authentication device.</p>

<heading id="h0010">Description of Embodiments</heading>
<p id="p0024" num="0024">An embodiment of a human detection sensor according to the present invention and an automatic door system into which the human detection sensor is incorporated are described below, with reference to the drawings.</p>
<heading id="h0011">[First embodiment]</heading>
<heading id="h0012">1. Overview</heading>
<p id="p0025" num="0025">A human detection sensor of the present embodiment is used as a starting device that<!-- EPO <DP n="6"> --> controls opening and closing of an automatic door in an automatic door system in which an authentication device is incorporated for the purpose of improving security.</p>
<p id="p0026" num="0026">The human detection sensor of the present embodiment is attached to a portion near an automatic door installed at an entrance of an apartment building, for example, and is for opening the automatic door to a passerby who has passage authority and has approached the automatic door.</p>
<heading id="h0013">2. Respective components of automatic door system including human detection sensor</heading>
<p id="p0027" num="0027">As illustrated in <figref idref="f0001">FIG. 1</figref>, an automatic door system 100 of the present embodiment includes: an automatic door 2 that automatically opens and closes for a passerby; a human detection sensor 3 that detects a passerby in a predetermined area AR; and authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 that authenticate the authentication authority of the passerby.</p>
<heading id="h0014">2-1. Automatic door</heading>
<p id="p0028" num="0028">The automatic door 2 of the present embodiment includes two doors 21 that slide open rightward and leftward, and a door driving device 23 that opens and closes the doors 21. The door driving device 23 of the present embodiment is built in a muntin 22 in an upper portion of the door.</p>
<heading id="h0015">2-1-1. Door driving device</heading>
<p id="p0029" num="0029">The door driving device 23 performs switching control to switch the doors 21 between an open state and a closed state, on the basis of an open-close signal from the human detection sensor described later.</p>
<heading id="h0016">2-2. Human detection sensor</heading>
<p id="p0030" num="0030">The human detection sensor 3 is a starting device for opening the doors 21 to a<!-- EPO <DP n="7"> --> passerby approaching the automatic door 2, and includes a housing 31 and a sensor unit 32 housed in the housing 31. The human detection sensor 3 of the present embodiment can be externally attached to the automatic door 2, and specifically, is attached, in an exposed manner, to the muntin 22 located above the opening of the automatic door. The human detection sensor 3 may be of a ceiling-mounted type. Note that the human detection sensor 3 may be buried in the muntin 22 in a portion above the doors.</p>
<heading id="h0017">2-2-1. Sensor unit</heading>
<p id="p0031" num="0031">The sensor unit 32 is a human presence sensor that outputs a detection signal indicating whether a passerby is present in the predetermined area AR that is set in the vicinity of the doorway area.</p>
<p id="p0032" num="0032">Specifically, as the sensor unit 32, it is possible to use various kinds of human presence sensors, such as a passive infrared sensor, an active infrared sensor, a radar sensor using microwaves or millimeter waves, and a camera sensor using an imaging element.</p>
<heading id="h0018">2-3. Authentication devices</heading>
<p id="p0033" num="0033">An authentication device receives a passage authority from a passerby detected by the human detection sensor 3, checks the received passage authority, and outputs an authentication result signal indicating that authentication has succeeded or failed.</p>
<p id="p0034" num="0034">As illustrated in <figref idref="f0001">FIG. 1</figref>, four authentication devices (a passcode input device 41, a card reader 42, a face authentication system 43, and a communication device 44) are incorporated into the automatic door system 100 of the present embodiment, and these authentication devices are arranged around the doors so as to be able to authenticate passage authority (a passcode, a card key, the face, or a mobile terminal X) of a passerby existing in the predetermined area AR of the human detection sensor 3.<!-- EPO <DP n="8"> --></p>
<heading id="h0019">2-3-1. Method of authentication for each authentication device</heading>
<p id="p0035" num="0035">The passcode input device 41 receives a passcode from a numeric keypad or a touch panel, checks whether the passcode is the same as a preset passcode, and, in a case where the passcode is the same as the preset passcode, determines that the authentication has succeeded.</p>
<p id="p0036" num="0036">The card reader 42 reads a card key with a touch sensor unit, checks whether the card key is the same as a card key registered in advance, and, in a case where the card key is the same as the registered card key, determines that the authentication has succeeded.</p>
<p id="p0037" num="0037">The face authentication system 43 photographs the face of a passerby with a face authentication camera, checks whether the face is the same as the face of a person registered in advance, and, in a case where the photographed face is the same as the registered face, determines that the authentication has succeeded.</p>
<p id="p0038" num="0038">The communication device 44 communicates with a mobile terminal X of a passerby, checks whether the mobile terminal X is the same as a mobile terminal X registered in advance, and, in a case where the mobile terminal X is the same as the registered one, determines that the authentication has succeeded.</p>
<p id="p0039" num="0039">The number of, the types of, or the authentication methods for the authentication devices that can be incorporated into the automatic door system 100 are not limited to the above. An authentication device may authenticate a metal key, biometric information (a fingerprint, a voiceprint, or the like), a passage authority held in a mobile terminal, or the like, for example. Note that a passage authority held in a mobile terminal may be a so-called one-time password or the like that is acquired or generated by cooperation with an external server and can be temporarily used.</p>
<p id="p0040" num="0040">The authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 of the present embodiment are installed around the automatic door, but a smartphone or the like of a passerby may be used as an authentication device to authenticate an ID, a passcode, biometric information, or the like.<!-- EPO <DP n="9"> --></p>
<p id="p0041" num="0041">Part or all of the checking function by an authentication device may be performed by an external server or the like.</p>
<heading id="h0020">2-3-2. Authentication mode</heading>
<p id="p0042" num="0042">The authentication methods for authentication devices can be classified into several authentication modes.</p>
<p id="p0043" num="0043">For example, when authentication methods are classified on the basis of the passage authorities to be authenticated, authentication methods for the passcode input device 41, the card reader 42, the face authentication system 43, and the communication device 44 can be classified into a passcode authentication mode, a card key authentication mode, a biometric authentication mode, a smartphone authentication mode, and the like.</p>
<p id="p0044" num="0044">A plurality of authentication devices that perform authentication in different authentication modes is incorporated into the automatic door system according to the present embodiment.</p>
<p id="p0045" num="0045">As for the authentication method classification based on passage authorities, a metal key authentication mode, a remote controller authentication mode, and the like can be considered in addition to the above.</p>
<p id="p0046" num="0046">Authentication methods for the respective authentication devices may be classified into three authentication modes, on the basis of which one of the following devices, an authentication device installed around the automatic door, a mobile terminal of a passerby, and an external server or the like, receives a passage authority (a passcode, for example).</p>
<p id="p0047" num="0047">Authentication methods for the respective authentication devices may be classified into three authentication modes, on the basis of which one of the following devices, an authentication device installed around the automatic door, a mobile terminal of a passerby, and an external server or the like, checks authentication information.<!-- EPO <DP n="10"> --></p>
<heading id="h0021">2-4. Processing unit</heading>
<p id="p0048" num="0048">Further, the human detection sensor 3 of the present embodiment includes a processing unit 33 that is housed in the housing 31. The processing unit 33 outputs a predetermined signal (an open-close signal for the doors herein), on the basis of a detection signal of the sensor unit 32 and authentication result signals of the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44.</p>
<p id="p0049" num="0049">The processing unit 33 is structurally a so-called computer including a CPU, a memory, an I/O interface, a communication interface, and the like, and functions by causing the CPU and a peripheral device to cooperate in accordance with a predetermined program stored in the memory.</p>
<heading id="h0022">2-4-1. Communication with plurality of authentication devices</heading>
<p id="p0050" num="0050">The processing unit 33 is designed to be able to receive authentication result signals from the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 of a plurality of types that perform authentication in different authentication modes. The processing unit 33 of the present embodiment communicates directly with a plurality of authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44, using BLE, for example. Note that the processing unit 33 only needs to be able to receive authentication result signals from at least two types of authentication devices, and may receive authentication result signals from authentication devices other than the above four authentication devices.</p>
<p id="p0051" num="0051">In addition to that, the processing unit 33 may include a plurality of types of input units to match the output formats of authentication result signals adopted in the authentication devices. The output formats of authentication result signals may include a contact output, an open collector output, wired communication such as serial communication (UART, RS-485, and USB communication), wireless communication (wifi, Bluetooth, zigBee, LPWA, and specified low power radio), and the like.<!-- EPO <DP n="11"> --></p>
<p id="p0052" num="0052">Further, the processing unit 33 converts the authentication result signals in formats different from each other into signals in a common format.</p>
<p id="p0053" num="0053">For example, using an electrical circuit such as a buffer, the processing unit 33 converts the specific difference in the format between authentication result signals received by BLE, and converts the formats into signals in a common format.</p>
<p id="p0054" num="0054">The processing unit 33 may commonalize the formats of authentication result signals that are output by different communication methods such as a wired method and a wireless method. Also, the processing unit 33 may commonalize authentication result signals that are output from contact points having different configurations (NC/NO, no voltage/voltage) or the like by a contact method.</p>
<heading id="h0023">2-4-2. Conditions for output of open-close signal</heading>
<p id="p0055" num="0055">Further, the processing unit 33 is designed to output an open-close signal on the basis of one or more authentication results from a preset one or more of the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 among the communicable authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44. That is, the processing unit 33 can be set to output the open-close signal even in a case where authentication is successful only in one or some of the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 among the communicable authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44.</p>
<p id="p0056" num="0056">The processing unit 33 can be set to output the open-close signal in a case where authentication is successful in the passcode input device 41 and the face authentication system 43, for example. In addition to that, the processing unit 33 may be set to output the open-close signal in a case where authentication is successful in the card reader 42 and the face authentication system 43, a plurality of conditions for the output of the open-close signal may be set, and which one or ones of the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 are selected or<!-- EPO <DP n="12"> --> combined may be freely set as a condition for the output.</p>
<heading id="h0024">2-5. Communication unit</heading>
<p id="p0057" num="0057">The human detection sensor 3 further includes a communication unit (not shown) that is housed in the housing 31 of the human detection sensor, and communicates with the mobile terminal X carried by the passerby detected by the sensor unit 32. The communication unit is designed to be able to communicate with the mobile terminal X present in the vicinity of the predetermined area, using short-range wireless communication such as BLE, for example.</p>
<p id="p0058" num="0058">For example, the communication unit transmits, to the mobile terminal X of the passerby detected by the sensor unit 32, an authentication method to be conducted by the passerby on the mobile terminal X possessed by the passerby.</p>
<p id="p0059" num="0059">In a case where the passerby has succeeded in authentication with one of the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44, the communication unit transmits information corresponding to the type of the authentication device 41, 42, 43, or 44 that has succeeded in the authentication to the mobile terminal X of the passerby.</p>
<heading id="h0025">3. Operation of automatic door system</heading>
<p id="p0060" num="0060">As described above, a plurality of conditions for the output of the open-close signal can be set. Here, as for the automatic door system 100 of the present embodiment into which the four authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 are incorporated, the operation to be performed by the present system 100 in a case where one or more authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 are set as a condition for the output of the open-close signal, and the operation to be performed by the present system 100 in a case where a plurality of conditions for the output is set are described below.</p>
<heading id="h0026">3-1. Where one authentication device is set as condition for output of open-close signal</heading>
<p id="p0061" num="0061">A case where success in authentication in the passcode input device 41 is set as a<!-- EPO <DP n="13"> --> condition for the output of the open-close signal, for example, is described with reference to <figref idref="f0003">FIG. 3</figref>.</p>
<p id="p0062" num="0062">When a passerby approaches the automatic door and enters within the predetermined area AR of the human detection sensor 3, the sensor unit 32 enters a detection state, and transmits a detection signal indicating that the passerby is detected (S1).</p>
<p id="p0063" num="0063">Having received the detection signal, the processing unit 33 checks the contents of an authentication result signal received from the passcode input device 41 set as the condition for the output of the open-close signal (S2).</p>
<p id="p0064" num="0064">Next, when the passerby inputs a passcode to the passcode input device 41, the passcode input device 41 determines whether the input passcode is correct, and transmits an authentication result signal (S3).</p>
<p id="p0065" num="0065">When receiving an authentication result signal indicating success in the authentication from the passcode input device 41 while the sensor unit 32 is in the detection state, the processing unit 33 outputs the open-close signal (S4), and the door driving device 23 opens the doors on the basis of the signal.</p>
<heading id="h0027">3-2. Where plurality of authentication devices is set as conditions for output of open-close signal</heading>
<p id="p0066" num="0066">A case where success in authentication in the card reader 42 and the face authentication system 43 is set as conditions for the output of the open-close signal, for example, is now described.</p>
<p id="p0067" num="0067">When a passerby approaches the automatic door and enters within the predetermined area AR of the human detection sensor 3, the sensor unit 32 enters a detection state, and transmits a detection signal indicating that the passerby is detected.</p>
<p id="p0068" num="0068">Having received the detection signal, the processing unit 33 checks the contents of authentication result signals received from the card reader 42 and the face authentication system 43, which are set as the conditions for the output of the open-close signal.</p>
<p id="p0069" num="0069">Next, when the passerby touches the card reader 42 with a card key, and faces the<!-- EPO <DP n="14"> --> camera of the face authentication system 43, the card reader 42 and the face authentication system 43 each perform authentication, and transmit an authentication result signal.</p>
<p id="p0070" num="0070">In a case where authentication result signals indicating success in authentication are received from the card reader 42 and the face authentication system 43 while the sensor unit 32 is in the detection state, the processing unit 33 then outputs the open-close signal, and the door driving device 23 opens the doors on the basis of the signal.</p>
<p id="p0071" num="0071">Note that, in a case where a plurality of authentication devices is set as the conditions for the output of the open-close signal, the order of authentication may also be included in the output conditions. For example, the processing unit 33 may output a predetermined signal when receiving authentication result signals from a plurality of preset authentication devices in a predetermined order.</p>
<heading id="h0028">3-3. Where plurality of conditions for output of open-close signal is set</heading>
<p id="p0072" num="0072">A case where success in authentication in the passcode input device 41, or success in authentication in the card reader 42 and the face authentication system 43 is set as conditions for the output of the open-close signal, for example, is now described.</p>

<p id="p0074" num="0074">Next, the passerby receives either authentication by the passcode input device 41, or authentication by the card reader 42 and the face authentication system 43, depending on the type of the passage authority possessed by the passerby.</p>
<p id="p0075" num="0075">In a case where an authentication result signal indicating success in authentication is received from either the passcode input device 41 or the card reader 42 and the face authentication system 43 while the sensor unit 32 is in the detection state, the processing unit 33 then outputs the open-close signal.<!-- EPO <DP n="15"> --></p>
<heading id="h0029">4. Effects of the first embodiment</heading>
<p id="p0076" num="0076">As the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 can be introduced into the automatic door system 100 via the human detection sensor 3, even in a case where the door driving device 23 does not have a function of communicating with any of the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44, the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 can be introduced, without any change made in the door driving device 23.</p>
<p id="p0077" num="0077">Being able to communicate with the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 of a plurality of types, the human detection sensor 3 can flexibly cope with an addition of or a change in another one of the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44, after introduction of one of the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44.</p>
<p id="p0078" num="0078">As the human detection sensor 3 has a function of processing an authentication result signal, the human detection sensor 3 can be introduced without any change made in the door driving device 23, even in a case where the human detection sensor 3 is introduced into the automatic door system 100 into which the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 are incorporated in advance, and the door driving device 23 does not have a function of processing a detection result from the human detection sensor 3 and authentication results from the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 in combination.</p>
<p id="p0079" num="0079">As the human detection sensor 3 communicates directly with each authentication device via BLE or the like, the labor at the time of introduction is less than that in a case where indirect communication is performed via a cloud server or the like, and the maintenance cost and the like are economical. In addition to that, there is no problem such as unstable communication with the authentication devices due to a change in the communication environment with a cloud server.<!-- EPO <DP n="16"> --></p>
<p id="p0080" num="0080">Being able to communicate with the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 of different types, the human detection sensor 3 can easily match with the existing authentication device when introduced into the automatic door system 100 in which one of the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 is incorporated in advance.</p>
<p id="p0081" num="0081">As authentication result signals in different formats are converted into signals in a common format, it is possible to cope with the difference in format between the authentication result signals corresponding to the authentication devices simply by connecting to a door sensor, and it is possible to greatly reduce the man-hours and time accompanied by introduction of and change in an authentication device. Also, the degree of freedom in selection of authentication devices increases, and a malfunction based on a difference between authentication signals can also be prevented.</p>
<p id="p0082" num="0082">As the human detection sensor 3 and the authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 can be used in combination for door switching control, security can be improved.</p>
<p id="p0083" num="0083">The authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 of a plurality of types are incorporated into the automatic door system 100, and a process depending on the contents of an authentication result signal from one or some of the authentication devices can be performed. Thus, fine-tuned operations such as classifying passage authorities into multiple levels necessary for passage can be performed. Security can be maximized with the use of all of the incorporated authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44, and the balance between security and convenience can be achieved with the use of one or some of these authentication devices.</p>
<p id="p0084" num="0084">For example, setting is performed in advance so that the conditions for outputting the open-close signal for the automatic door vary for each time slot. Thus, it is possible to perform<!-- EPO <DP n="17"> --> operations such as enabling quick entry and exit by reducing the necessary authentication during the day, and raising the security level by increasing the authentication at night.</p>
<p id="p0085" num="0085">Also, different conditions for outputting the open-close signal are set in accordance with the attributes of passersby such as a related person and an outsider. Thus, it is possible to perform an operation, such as enhancing convenience by requesting the related person to go through authentication only with the card reader, while raising the security level for the outside by further requesting a passcode.</p>
<p id="p0086" num="0086">Including the communication unit, the human detection sensor can have an information delivering function, for example, and the human detection sensor can be turned into a more multifunctional sensor. Thus, it is possible to make the automatic door system exhibit various functions simply by introducing the human detection sensor according to the present invention, without significantly changing the entire automatic door system.</p>
<p id="p0087" num="0087">The communication unit can perform information distribution depending on the passage authority of each passerby.</p>
<heading id="h0030">[Second embodiment]</heading>
<p id="p0088" num="0088">The processing unit according to the above embodiment outputs the open-close signal when an authentication device succeeds in authentication in a passerby detection state, but a processing unit according to a second embodiment outputs an open-close signal when receiving an authentication result signal regarding a detected passerby within a predetermined time after the passerby was detected.</p>
<p id="p0089" num="0089">The predetermined time is calculated from the timing at which the passerby entered a predetermined area of a human detection sensor, or from the timing at which the passerby left the predetermined area.</p>
<p id="p0090" num="0090"><!-- EPO <DP n="18"> --> Note that a plurality of the predetermined times may be provided, and may be set for the types of authentication result signals. In a case where a plurality of authentication devices is set as the conditions for outputting the open-close signal, the predetermined time may be extended when authentication is successful in any one of the authentication devices.</p>
<p id="p0091" num="0091">In this case, in a system into which this human detection sensor is incorporated, a process corresponding to the time taken from detection of the passerby to authentication can be performed. For example, in a case where authentication is not performed within a certain period of time from detection of a passerby, the processing unit regards that the authentication has failed even when an authentication signal indicating that the authentication is successful is received after that. In this manner, the automatic door can be prevented from opening for a passerby who has behaved unnaturally such as not performing authentication immediately after entering the predetermined area.</p>
<p id="p0092" num="0092">In addition to that, the settings can be such that, in a case where the detection area of the human detection sensor is set at a position away from the door, for example, the door is opened for a passerby who has reached the door from the predetermined area within a predetermined time and succeeded in authentication.</p>
<p id="p0093" num="0093">Further, in an automatic door system installed in a residential facility for the elderly, a hospital, or the like, the predetermined time is made sufficiently long, to enhance convenience of passersby.</p>
<heading id="h0031">[Third embodiment]</heading>
<p id="p0094" num="0094">The processing unit of each of the above embodiments outputs the open-close signal in a case where authentication by an authentication device has succeeded during or after detection of a passerby, but an authentication device of a third embodiment outputs an open-close signal in a case where authentication by an authentication device has succeeded before detection of a<!-- EPO <DP n="19"> --> passerby.</p>
<p id="p0095" num="0095">Authentication devices 41, 42, 43, and 44 of the third embodiment are disposed so as to be able to authenticate passersby present around a predetermined area AR that is set in the vicinity of the outer side of the doorway area of an automatic door. In an automatic door system illustrated in <figref idref="f0004">FIG. 4</figref>, a passcode input device and a card reader are provided at positions away from the predetermined area AR in front of the door so that the passcode input device and the card reader cannot be reached from the inside predetermined area AR. A face authentication system is directed around the predetermined area. A communication device that communicates with smartphones is set in such a manner that its communication range covers the predetermined area and is wider than the predetermined area.</p>
<p id="p0096" num="0096">When a sensor unit detects a passerby and enters a detection state, a processing unit 33 of the third embodiment checks an authentication result signal received within a predetermined time before the detection of the passerby, and outputs a predetermined signal corresponding to the contents of the authentication result signal already received for the detected passerby.</p>
<p id="p0097" num="0097">In this case, the passage authority can be authenticated before the passerby enters within the predetermined area AR in front of the automatic door, and thus, it is possible to prevent the passerby from taking time in front of the door.</p>
<p id="p0098" num="0098">Furthermore, the door does not open unless a passerby enters the predetermined area AR within a predetermined time after authentication, and thus, it is possible to lower the possibility that a person who is not an authenticated passerby will pass through the door.</p>
<heading id="h0032">[Fourth embodiment]</heading>
<p id="p0099" num="0099">The human detection sensor according to each of the above embodiments is<!-- EPO <DP n="20"> --> incorporated into an automatic door system, but a human detection sensor according to a fourth embodiment is incorporated into a manual door system.</p>
<p id="p0100" num="0100">As illustrated in <figref idref="f0005">FIG. 5</figref>, a manual door 5 of the fourth embodiment includes a hinged door 51 that is pushed open by rotating a door knob, and a door locking device (not shown) that locks the door.</p>
<p id="p0101" num="0101">The door locking device is a door control device that switches the manual door between an openable state in which the door can be manually moved and a closed state in which the door is fixedly closed.</p>
<p id="p0102" num="0102">A processing unit of the fourth embodiment outputs a door unlocking signal or a door locking signal to the door locking device, on the basis of a detection result from the human detection sensor and an authentication result from an authentication device.</p>
<p id="p0103" num="0103">As in the fourth embodiment, a human detection sensor according to the present invention may be used for a door sensor that is not a sliding automatic door. For example, it may be used in a door such as a hinged door. It may be introduced into an elevator or the like.</p>
<heading id="h0033">[Fifth embodiment]</heading>
<p id="p0104" num="0104">The human detection sensor of each of the above embodiments is incorporated into a door system, but a human detection sensor of a fifth embodiment is incorporated into an alarm system.</p>
<p id="p0105" num="0105">In an alarm system, a human detection sensor is used as a starting device for sounding an alarm in a case where a passerby is detected.</p>
<p id="p0106" num="0106"><!-- EPO <DP n="21"> --> A predetermined signal to be output from the processing unit of the present embodiment is an alarm signal for sounding an alarm. For example, in a case where an authentication device fails to authenticate the passage authority of a passerby, or where authentication does not succeed within a predetermined time from the detection of the passerby, the processing unit outputs the alarm signal.</p>
<p id="p0107" num="0107">In this manner, the human detection sensor and an authentication device can be used in combination for controlling an alarm, and thus, an alarm can be sounded to a passerby who does not have a passage authority.</p>
<p id="p0108" num="0108">As in the fifth embodiment, a human detection sensor according to the present invention may be used in a system that is not a door system. For example, it may be used for an opening and closing device for a gate or the like, or a starting device for an escalator.</p>
<p id="p0109" num="0109">It may also be used to control a plurality of devices in a system including both an automatic door and an alarm, for example.</p>
<heading id="h0034">[Other embodiments]</heading>
<p id="p0110" num="0110">In the human detection sensor of each of the above embodiments, the sensor unit and the processing unit are housed in a common housing and integrally provided. However, a sensor unit and a processing unit may be provided separately. For example, a human detection sensor may include a sensor unit such as a touch-sensitive switch attached to a door or a mat-like switch laid on the ground in front of the door, and a processing unit housed in the muntin of the door.</p>
<p id="p0111" num="0111">The human detection sensor of each of the above embodiments receives an authentication result signal from an authentication device provided separately, but may receive an authentication result signal from an authentication device provided integrally. That is, the<!-- EPO <DP n="22"> --> human detection sensor may have a function of receiving and checking passage authorities, and, for example, the processing unit may communicate with a mobile terminal of a passerby and authenticate the mobile terminal.</p>
<heading id="h0035">Industrial Applicability</heading>
<p id="p0112" num="0112">According to the present invention, in various systems into which a human detection sensor is incorporated, it is possible to further improve security, and at the same time, enhance convenience of device introduction, by combining the human detection sensor and an authentication device.</p>
