<heading id="h0002">[<b>Background Art</b>]</heading>
<p id="p0002" num="0002">Non-oriented electrical steel sheets used as core materials for electronic devices are required to have high magnetic flux density and low iron loss as devices become more efficient and miniaturized. The higher the magnetic flux density, the less iron core is required to achieve the same performance, which enables the miniaturization of the electrical devices. The lower the iron loss, the smaller the energy loss, so securing the above characteristics is essential for manufacturing high-efficiency motors. The iron loss, which causes an energy loss, consists of a hysteresis loss and an eddy current loss, and the influence of the eddy current loss increases in high-efficiency motors with high operating frequencies of the electronic devices. The eddy current loss is a heat generation caused by an eddy current that occur when a magnetic field is induced in the core, and to reduce this, it is generally effective to increase the<!-- EPO <DP n="2"> --> content of resistivity elements such as Si or Al inside the electrical steel sheet. When the Si content is increased above a certain level, the magnetostriction, which is the cause of noise, decreases to 0 and the investment rate increases to the maximum, making it possible to manufacture the electrical steel sheets with the excellent high-frequency characteristics. However, as the Si content increases, the ductility of the electrical steel sheet decreases significantly, making it difficult to manufacture a thin-film electrical steel sheet using a conventional rolling process. To overcome the limitations of this rolling process, a technology has been proposed to manufacture the electrical steel sheets with increased Si content in the steel sheet by diffusing Si onto the surface of the cold-rolled steel sheet using the gas of SiCl4. However, this method uses the gas of SiCl4, which is highly toxic and chemically unstable, and has a limit of device that must be produced in a high vacuum condition so it is difficult to manufacture the electrical steel sheet with the width of 500 mm or more. In addition, under high vacuum conditions, by-product gases such as FeCl2 are generated, which is environmentally harmful and has poor insulation properties, so a fundamental solution is needed.</p>

<p id="p0027" num="0027">The non-oriented electrical steel sheet may include, in wt%, 0.3 to 7.0% of Si, 0.001 to 3.0% of Al, and 0.03 to 2.0% of Mn, and may include balance of Fe and inevitable impurities.</p>
<p id="p0028" num="0028">A reason of limiting components of the non-oriented electrical steel sheet will now be described.</p>
<heading id="h0008">Si: 0.3 to 7.0 wt%</heading>
<p id="p0029" num="0029">Silicon (Si) increases resistivity of a material and reduces iron loss so it must be added in a relatively large quantity. As the content of Si increases, eddy current loss may be reduced, and the iron loss at a high frequency may be reduced. Particularly, when Si is included in an amount of 6.0 wt% or more, magnetostriction, which is a cause of a noise, is reduced to 0 and an investment ratio increases to the maximum, making it possible to manufacture the electrical steel sheets with excellent high-frequency characteristics. However, when the content of Si is equal to or greater than 4 wt%, ductility of the electrical steel sheet is substantially reduced, so it is difficult to manufacture the electrical steel sheet according to the conventional rolling process.</p>
<p id="p0030" num="0030">Si is diffused into the steel sheet on a surface of the steel sheet to<!-- EPO <DP n="8"> --> increase Si in the steel sheet. If there is too little Si in the steel sheet, it is difficult to expect the effect due to Si mentioned above. If a very big amount of Si is included, workability of the electrical steel sheet is degraded when it is processed as a product such as a motor. Due to the diffusion of Si to the interior from the surface, a concentration gradient of Si may be generated in the thickness direction of the steel sheet, and unless otherwise specified, the Si content in the steel sheet may signify the average content in the thickness direction. The average content refers to the content assuming that Si within the steel sheet is uniformly distributed in the thickness direction of the steel sheet. In detail, it may include 2.5 to 6.5 wt% of Si. In detail, it may include 3.5 to 6.0 wt% of Si.</p>
<p id="p0031" num="0031">The content of Si in a region up to 25% of the entire thickness in the internal direction from the surface of the non-oriented electrical steel sheet may be 4.0 to 8.0 wt%, and the content of Si at a center position (t/2) of the sheet thickness may be 0.3 to 5.5 wt%. In detail, content of Si in a region up to 25% of the entire thickness in the internal direction from the surface of the non-oriented electrical steel sheet may be 4.1 to 7.0 wt%, and the content of Si at the center position (t/2) of the sheet thickness may be 0.4 to 3.5 wt%.</p>
<p id="p0032" num="0032">The steel sheet including the high concentration of Si is manufactured by diffusing Si from the surface of the steel sheet to the interior of the steel sheet, so that the concentration gradient may be generated in the direction of the thickness of the steel sheet. That is, the content of Si in the region (i.e., surface portion) up to 25% of the entire thickness in the internal direction from<!-- EPO <DP n="9"> --> the surface of the non-oriented electrical steel sheet may be 4.0 to 8.0 wt%. If the content of Si in the surface portion is low, it means that the sufficient Si is not diffused, and the improvement of the high-frequency iron loss through the high concentration of Si may not be sufficiently obtained. If the content of Si is too high, it means that a large quantity of Si exists on the surface and is not diffused into the steel sheet, so the improvement of the high-frequency iron loss through the high concentration of Si may not be sufficiently achieved. The content of Si represents an average content of Si in the thickness direction in the surface portion when the concentration of Si of the surface portion is measured in the thickness direction. The content of Si may be measured by non-destructive analysis methods such as an electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA) or a scanning electron microscope/energy-dispersive, an X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDX). In detail, the content of Si on the surface portion may be 4.1 to 7.0 wt%. The surface portion includes an oxide layer, and the oxide layer is included in the surface portion when the content of Si is calculated.</p>
<p id="p0033" num="0033">The center position of the thickness of the sheet refers to the position at the half of the total thickness of the sheet. It will be referred to as the center portion. If the content of Si in the center portion is low, it means that the sufficient Si is not diffused, and the improvement in the high-frequency iron loss through high-concentration of Si may not be sufficiently obtained. If the content of Si is very high in the center portion, workability may be reduced. In detail, the content of Si in the center portion may be 0.3 to 5.5 wt%. In detail, the content of Si in the center portion may be 0.4 to 3.5 wt%.<!-- EPO <DP n="10"> --></p>
<p id="p0034" num="0034">ΔSi defined as the difference ([S-MSi]-[C-MSi]) between the content of Si [C-MSi] at the center position of the sheet thickness (t/2) and the content of Si [S-MSi] in the region up to 25% of the entire thickness in the internal direction from the surface of the non-oriented electrical steel sheet may be 0.1 wt% or more. When there is an appropriate difference in the content of Si between the center portion and the surface, the high-frequency iron loss and the processability may be further improved. In detail, ΔSi may be 1.0 to 6.0 wt%. In detail, ΔSi may be 2.0 to 5.8 wt%.</p>
<p id="p0035" num="0035">As described, Si in a compound of Si in a diffused composition of Si is diffused by a diffusion annealing, thereby increasing the content of Si, and a less amount of Si compared to what is described above may be included in the steel sheet before Si is diffused. In detail, a slab and a cold rolled plate before it is diffused may include 0.3 to 5.5 wt% of Si. If there is too little Si in the slab and the cold rolled sheet before its diffusion, the amount of Si required for diffusion increases, the diffusion annealing takes a long time, the efficiency is not high, and the difference in the content of Si by the sheet thickness becomes large, making it difficult to obtain the appropriate high-frequency iron loss. If there is a very big amount of Si in the slab and the cold rolled plate before its diffusion, the steel sheet may be broken or defects may be generated in the steel sheet during the cold rolling process. In detail, Si in the slab may be 0.4 to 3.5 wt%.</p>

<p id="p0036" num="0036">Aluminum (Al) lowers the high-frequency iron loss by increasing<!-- EPO <DP n="11"> --> resistivity of the material. The resistivity of the material may be sufficiently increased through the diffusion of Si, so the addition of Al may be unnecessary. Adding more Al may further improve high-frequency iron loss. If a very big amount of Al is added, iron loss and surface quality deterioration may be generated due to the formation of a silicic acid aluminum-based composite material. In detail, 0.01 to 2.0 wt% of Al may be included. Due to diffusion of Al from the surface to the interior, an concentration gradient of Al may exist in the thickness direction of the steel sheet, and unless otherwise noted, the content of Al in the steel sheet refers to the average content in the thickness direction. If the content of Al is too high, it means that a large amount of Al exists on the surface portion and is not diffused into the steel sheet, and consequently, sufficient improvement in high-frequency iron loss through diffusion of Al may not be achieved. The content of Al represents the average content of Al in the thickness direction when measuring the concentration of Al of the surface portion in the thickness direction. The content of Al may be measured by GOD, FTIR, wet analysis, TEM-GDS, and SEM-GDS methods. In detail, the content of Al of the surface portion may be 0.5 to 1.0 wt%.</p>

<p id="p0060" num="0060">The non-oriented electrical steel sheet includes an oxide layer in the internal direction of the steel sheet on the surface of the steel sheet, and the thickness of the oxide layer may be 7.0 µm or less. When observed with a transmission electron microscope (TEM), the oxide layer is determined to extend from the surface of the steel sheet to the maximum depth where granular oxides such as Al2O3,SiO2, and MnO exist. Curvature may exist in the oxide layer, and unless otherwise specified regarding thickness of the oxide layer, it refers to the average thickness of the oxide layer at the measured position.</p>
<p id="p0061" num="0061">In the present disclosure, during the process for applying a Si diffused composition and diffusion annealing it, an oxide layer of a certain thickness or more is inevitably formed. When annealing a cold rolled plate in a non-oxidizing atmosphere without performing a Si diffusion process, the oxide layer may be formed to be very thin that is less than 1 µm, but in this case, it is difficult to achieve the concentration gradient of Si and iron loss intended in the present disclosure. If the oxide layer is too thick, the magnetism may be degraded because of the thickness. In detail, the thickness of the oxide layer may be 1.0 to 7.0 µm. In detail, it may be 2.0 to 6.0 µm.</p>
<p id="p0062" num="0062">During the process for applying a Si diffused composition and diffusion annealing it, oxygen is inevitably diffused into the steel sheet. In this case, the amount of oxygen for the entire thickness of the steel sheet is concentrated in the aforementioned oxide layer, and there is almost no oxygen left at the center position of the sheet thickness. When calculating the average content of<!-- EPO <DP n="19"> --> oxygen for the entire thickness of the steel sheet, it may be 0.0030 to 0.0150 wt%. When annealing the cold-rolled plate in a non-oxidizing atmosphere without performing a Si diffusion process, the content of oxygen may be controlled to a very low level, however, in this case, it is difficult to achieve the concentration gradient of Si and the iron loss intended in the present disclosure. <p id="p0063" num="0063">The non-oriented electrical steel sheet exhibits excellent high-frequency iron loss due to the diffusion of Si and the suppression on the formation of the oxide layer. In detail, iron loss (W10/1k) may be 53.0W/kg or less. At this time, the iron loss is based on the thickness of 0.2 mm. The iron loss (W10/1k) is the iron loss when the magnetic flux density of 1.0T is induced at a frequency of 1000 Hz. The iron loss may be measured using the Epstein measurement method or the single sheet test (SST) method. In detail, the iron loss (W10/1k) may be 20.0W/kg to 50.0W/kg.</p>
<p id="p0064" num="0064">Not only is the iron loss excellent, but the magnetic flux density is also simultaneously superior. In detail, the magnetic flux density (B25) may be 1.46T or more. In detail, the magnetic flux density (B25) may be 1.55 to 1.70T.</p>

<p id="p0066" num="0066">The method will now be described in detail.</p>
<p id="p0067" num="0067">A cold-rolled plate including, as wt%, 0.3 to 5.5 % of S, 0.001 to 2.0 % of Al, and 0.03 to 2.0 % of Mn, and including a balance of Fe and inevitable impurities is prepared. As the alloy component of the cold-rolled plate is the same as previously described, repeated descriptions will be omitted.</p>
<p id="p0068" num="0068">The method for manufacturing a cold rolled plate is not particularly limited and may include manufacturing a hot-rolled plate by hot rolling a slab including, as wt%, 0.3 to 5.5 % of Si, 0.001 to 2.0 % of Al, and 0.03 to 2.0 % of Mn, and including balance Fe and inevitable impurities; and manufacturing a cold rolled plate by cold rolling the hot-rolled plate.</p>
<p id="p0069" num="0069">A slab is manufactured. The reason for limiting an addition ratio of respective compositions in the slab is the same as the reason for limiting the composition of the non-oriented electrical steel sheet described above, so the repeated descriptions will be omitted. In the manufacturing processes to be described later, such as hot rolling, hot-rolled plate annealing, and cold rolling, the composition of the slab is not substantially changed, so the composition of the slab and the composition of the cold-rolled plate are substantially the same. In the diffusion annealing process, Si and Al are diffused, and the alloy composition of the non-oriented electrical steel sheet may be identical to that of the remaining components excluding Si and Al.</p>
<p id="p0070" num="0070">The slab may be heated to 1100 °C or higher prior to manufacturing the hot-rolled plate. In detail, the slab is loaded into a furnace and is heated to<!-- EPO <DP n="21"> --> 1100 to 1250 °C. When heated at a temperature that is greater than 1250 °C, the precipitate may be redissolved and may be finely precipitated after hot rolling. In detail, the slab heating temperature may be 1100 °C to 1200 °C.</p>
<p id="p0071" num="0071">The heated slab is hot-rolled to 1.5 to 4.0 mm to be manufactured into a hot-rolled plate. Pre-cold rolling prior to cold rolling is also included, so the non-oriented electrical steel sheet with an appropriate thickness may be manufactured even if the hot-rolled plate is relatively thick. In detail, the thickness of the hot-rolled plate may be 1.5 mm to 3.5 mm.</p>
<p id="p0072" num="0072">The manufacturing of a hot-rolled plate may include finishing rolling at a temperature of 850 °C or higher.</p>
<p id="p0073" num="0073">If the hot rolling finishing temperature is too low, a rolling load increases, leading to a decrease in hot rolling workability. A large amount of deformation structures remain in the hot-rolled steel sheet, which causes an increase in a rolling load during the pre-cold rolling that is a subsequent process. During intermediate annealing, recrystallization of &lt;111&gt;//ND orientation grains from the deformed structure is promoted, resulting in a lowered magnetic flux density. Therefore, the hot rolling finishing temperature should be as high as possible, and more specifically, the finishing rolling temperature may be 850 to 1000 °C.</p>
<p id="p0074" num="0074">The manufacturing of a hot-rolled plate may include winding at the temperature of 600 to 800 °C. A rough rolling may be included before the finishing rolling.</p>
<p id="p0075" num="0075">If the temperature is controlled too low during the winding, recovery and recrystallization of the hot rolling deformed structure is not properly generated,<!-- EPO <DP n="22"> --> and the cooling load increases to quickly cool the steel sheet to a low temperature, which may cause difficulties in winding the supercooled coil. Conversely, if the temperature is too high, recovery and recrystallization may be promoted, but additional oxidation by atmospheric oxygen may be generated while wound, leading to the formation of thicker scale and problems of grain boundary oxidation. The grain boundary oxidation of the hot-rolled plate promotes grain boundary corrosion during the subsequent pickling process, which increases the possibility of surface stripe defects and may cause severe wear on the rolling roll. In detail, the winding temperature may be 650 to 750 °C.</p>
<p id="p0076" num="0076">After manufacturing the hot-rolled plate, the process may further include annealing the hot-rolled plate in the temperature range of 600 to 1100 °C. If the annealing temperature of the hot-rolled plate is too low, the recrystallization structure is not formed or grows finely, resulting in a small increase in the magnetic flux density, and if the annealing temperature is too high, the magnetic characteristics may deteriorate, and rolling workability may worsen due to deformation of the plate shape. In detail, the annealing temperature of the hot-rolled plate may be 750 to 1000 °C.</p>
<p id="p0077" num="0077">Hot-rolled plate annealing is performed to increase the orientation that is advantageous to magnetism as needed, and it may be omitted. The annealing method is not particularly limited, and the annealing may be performed in a batch or continuously.</p>
<p id="p0078" num="0078">The hot-rolled plate may be pickled as needed.<!-- EPO <DP n="23"> --></p>
<p id="p0079" num="0079">The hot-rolled plate is pickled and is cold-rolled to have a predetermined plate thickness. To achieve the desired reduction ratio, one cold rolling or at least two cold rollings with intermediate annealing in between may be performed. In detail, the reduction rate may be 75 to 90%. If the applied amount is too high, a problem where workability is deteriorated may be generated. In detail, the applied amount may be 20 to 70/m2. In detail, the solid refers to the mass remaining after heat treatment for 9 seconds in a drying condition of 650 °C.</p>
<p id="p0095" num="0095">As an application method, it may be applied using a roller coater, a brush, etc. From a production efficiency perspective, it may be applied using a<!-- EPO <DP n="27"> --> roll coater.</p>
<p id="p0096" num="0096">In the drying after the coating, the Si diffused composition is dried to form a Si diffused coating layer. The drying temperature is sufficient if it is a temperature at which the solvent in the Si diffused composition may be removed, and specifically, it may be 300 to 850 °C. The time may be 10 seconds to 180 seconds. In detail, the temperature may be 500 to 800 °C. The time may be 15 seconds to 150 seconds. After drying at a drying temperature, it may be cooled at a cooling speed of 20 °C/second or more. By rapidly cooling in this way, automatic detachment of unreacted residual composition may be induced. The cooling range may be up to 100 °C at the drying temperature.</p>
<p id="p0097" num="0097">Diffusion annealing is performed on the cold-rolled plate. In this process, Si and Al are diffused into the steel sheet from the Si diffused composition applied to the surface of the cold-rolled plate.</p>
<p id="p0098" num="0098">By appropriately controlling the atmosphere conditions during diffusion, the formation of an oxide layer in the non-oriented electrical steel sheet and the diffusion of oxygen may be suppressed to the maximum extent. In detail, during the diffusion annealing, the atmosphere includes 98 volume% or more of hydrogen, and the dew point may be -25 °C.</p>
<p id="p0099" num="0099">In the diffusion annealing, 98,000 volume% or more of hydrogen is included. If a hydrogen fraction is too low, oxygen may react on the surface of the steel sheet, or hydrogen in the atmosphere may not react with the oxygen present in the steel sheet, so a thick oxide layer may be generated or a large<!-- EPO <DP n="28"> --> amount of oxygen may penetrate into the steel sheet. In detail, it may include 98.200 to 99.999 volume%. The remainder may include at least one of nitrogen and oxygen.</p>
<p id="p0100" num="0100">In the diffusion annealing, the dew point may be -25 °C or lower. The dew point is proportional to the amount of H2O in the atmosphere, and if the dew point is high, aqueous vapor in the atmosphere reacts with the steel sheet, forming a thick oxide layer or allowing a large amount of oxygen to penetrate into the steel sheet. In detail, the dew point may be -50 to -30 °C.</p>
<p id="p0101" num="0101">The diffusion annealing temperature may be 950 °C to 1100 °C. If the diffusion annealing temperature is too low, the diffusion of Si may not be sufficiently generated, and the desired effect may not be achieved. If the diffusion annealing temperature is too high, pores may be formed, and the magnetic properties may be degraded. In detail, it may be 950 to 1050 °C.</p>
<p id="p0102" num="0102">The time may be 1 to 10 hours. If the time is too short, diffusion of Si may not be sufficiently generated, and the desired effect may not be achieved. In detail, it may be 2 to 7 hours.</p>
<p id="p0103" num="0103">After diffusion annealing, the final thickness of the steel sheet may be 0.10 to 0.65 mm, and the thickness may be slightly increased compared to the cold rolled plate due to application of the Si diffused composition and diffusion thereof.</p>
<p id="p0104" num="0104">The diffused and annealed steel sheet may further include washing and drying to remove unreacted materials.</p>
<p id="p0105" num="0105">The diffused and annealed steel sheet may further include pickling to<!-- EPO <DP n="29"> --> make the surface smooth.</p>
<p id="p0106" num="0106">The pickling may use at least one of hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and hydrofluoric acid.</p>
<p id="p0107" num="0107">The diffused and annealed steel sheet may further include performing a plasma treatment to make the surface beautiful.</p>
<p id="p0108" num="0108">It may further include forming an insulating film. As the insulating film is widely known, a detailed description will be omitted. In detail, an insulating coating layer may be formed by applying an insulating coating layer forming composition made of metal phosphoric acid salt and silica as main components, and performing a heat treatment.</p>
<p id="p0109" num="0109">An embodiment and a comparative example will now be described. However, the following Example is merely a preferable embodiment of the present disclosure, and the present disclosure is not limited thereto.</p>
<heading id="h0019">Experimental Example</heading>
<p id="p0110" num="0110">A slab including silicon (Si) with the concentration of Si in the steel sheet expressed in Table 2, 0.002 wt% of aluminum (Al), 0.10 wt% of manganese (Mn), 0.04 wt% of tin (Sn), 0.04 wt% of antimony (Sb), and 0.013 wt% of phosphorus (P) and including a balance of Fe and other inevitable impurities is prepared.</p>
<p id="p0111" num="0111">A hot-rolled plate is manufactured by heating the slab at 1100 °C and hot-rolling it to the thickness of 1.8 mm.</p>
<p id="p0112" num="0112">The hot-rolled plate is wound at 700 °C, is cooled in the air, is annealed at 1030 °C for 2 minutes, is quenched in water, is pickled, and is then cold-rolled<!-- EPO <DP n="30"> --> to the thickness of 0.20 mm to manufacture a cold-rolled plate.</p>
<p id="p0113" num="0113">The Si diffused composition is prepared by stirring silicon powder with the average particle size of 1 µm (99.99 wt% or more of Si, 0.5 to 5 µm of particle diameter range, and 99.9 wt% or more) with water on the surface of the cold-rolled plate.</p>
<p id="p0114" num="0114">The prepared Si diffused composition is applied to the cold-rolled plate in the solid amount listed in Table 1. It is dried for 9 seconds at 650 °C.</p>
<p id="p0115" num="0115">The cold-rolled plate coated with the Si diffused composition is diffusionannealed for 2 hours under the condition of Table 1.</p>
<p id="p0116" num="0116">The diffused and annealed surface of the steel sheet is washed with water, is dried at the room temperature, is immersed in a nitric acid solution including 0.5% of hydrofluoric acid at 65 °C for 12 seconds to remove unreacted materials, is washed again with water, and is finally dried to manufacture the non-oriented electrical steel sheet with the thickness of 0.2 mm.</p>
<p id="p0117" num="0117">The comparative example 11 represents an example in which the cold-rolled plate is manufactured in the same way, a Si annealing separator is not applied, and annealing is performed for 120 seconds under the conditions summarized in Table 1.</p>
<p id="p0118" num="0118">The thickness of the oxide layer of the finally manufactured steel sheet is measured from the surface of the steel sheet to the maximum depth where granular oxides such as Al2O3,SiO2, or MnO exist by using a transmission electron microscope (TEM).</p>
<p id="p0119" num="0119">The concentration of oxygen in the steel sheet is measured using ICP-MS<!-- EPO <DP n="31"> --> (Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometry).</p>
<p id="p0120" num="0120">The concentration of Si on the center portion and surface portion is measured using a scanning electron microscope/energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDX).</p>
<p id="p0121" num="0121">The iron loss (W10/1000) is measured in the rolling direction and the vertical rolling direction using the Epstein measurement method, and the average of these measurements is displayed.
