(57) Granular built detergent compositions containing specific mixtures of anionic surfactant alkoxylated nonionic surfactant and water-soluble cationic surfactant. In highly preferred compositions, the anionic surfactant comprises a sulfate or stulfo- nate anionic surfactant or a mixture thereof with a fatty acid soap. Especially preferred compositions comprise a mixture of sulfonate and sulfate anionic surfactants. The compositions provide enhanced oil and grease removal from fabrics together with good clay soil detergency, whiteness maintenance and foam control characteristics under realistic multicycle wash conditions.
